Cleaning motivation thread - Summer 2016

The old thread has maxed out due to us being so busy cleaning so here is the new thread.

Good morning everyone. I've had a few lazy days again so have plenty to do today:

• tidy beds
• bathe toddler
• wash dishes and wipe over kitchen
• empty kitchen bins
• tidy living room
• sweep and mop throughout downstairs
• dust and polish living room
• clean and mop downstairs bathroom
• washing
• fold and put away clean washing
• clean out fridge
• write shopping list
• go to sainsburys
• go to Aldi
• go to Next to swap some sandals I bought for dd1
• iron school uniforms

I also have another interview at 2pm so need to give myself time to get ready for that too.

Morning all,

I had a lazy day off the chores yesterday myself Kim. Good luck with the interview.

Today i need to:

• put the bins and recycling out for collection
• make the beds
• wash the dishes
• clean the kitchen
• general tidy up

Morning - well I had a admin day Yeasterday after few days off today is cleaning day
Clean whole house apart from bathroom that dh did
Plan is to
Dust
Mop
Tidy dd room
Hoover
Empty bins
Clean oven
Sort pets
Clean hall skirting boards and door as a mess
Just having a cuppa and then will Crack on

Oh and sort clothes a large mountain of clothes ....

So far:

Just getting me and dd ready then I'll head out to the shops. She is REALLY not in a good mood so this should be fun...

Well deep cleaned kitchen took over a hour but looks great - done the worst bits still got living room and 2 bedrooms but I think a hour and a bit left to do / having a rest !

Tidy dd room done
Hoover --done
Empty bins done
Clean oven -- done
Sort pets done
Clean hall skirting boards and door as a mess done

As well as a massive deep clean so im very pleased taken about 4 hours
Also prepped tea
Got to put a few bits away but can do them as I go past so just dd homework to do - tea prepped

Tomowow I'm out with a friend
But I want to
Put washing through
Pack ups
Post office jobs

Afternoon ladies last couple of days I've been a lazy moo and done very very basics!!
Next few nights are hectic so I've cracked on today after work

So far I've made beds tidied rooms except dd I can't bare her room!!
Damp dusted
Hoovered everywhere
Cleaned bathroom
Bleached Loo and shower
Cleaned kitchen
Put a load of stuff in tumble dryer
Hung washing up
Mopped kitchen and bathroom

Now I'm about to do ironing and make tea

God did we have a thunderstorm and a half here this afternoon. Thunder and lightning and very heavy rain

So far today i have:

• put bins and recylcing out for collection and brought them back in
• made the beds
• tidied ds's room
• cleaned the kitchen (cleaned fridge, cleaned hob, cleaned microwave, bleached sink, dettol'd the work surfaces, mopped the floor)
• bleached downstairs loo

Tea is cooking as i type. Need to bath ds this evening and finish off with general tidy up.

So I am still not keeping on top of stuff at the moment.
Today I have:
Done handwashing
Loaded dishwasher
Made tea and cleared up
Done 2 loads of washing
Been on a long walk with the dog

How did the interview go Kim?

We all have times like that will

The housework can wait will, it'll still be there tomorrow, put your feet up!

I did all of my list apart from dusting the living room and cleaning the downstairs bathroom (which I may do later if I can be bothered).

My interview went well and I have been offered the job - horay! It's 18 hours per week and 5 mins from home so perfect for me at the moment. I thought I'd messed the interview up but it can't have been as bad as I thought. No idea when I start yet though so I'll have to make the most of being a SAHM while I can (by that I mean sit on my arse for extended periods of time).

I have now done:

• put bins and recylcing out for collection and brought them back in

• tidied ds's room
• cleaned the kitchen (cleaned fridge, cleaned hob, cleaned microwave, bleached sink, dettol'd the work surfaces, mopped the floor)

• bleached loo in the bathroom

It's another wet damp day again I'm sick of it can't get washing dry it's so damp and I put heating on for a bit but it's so clammy!

So far this morning I've
Made beds tidied rooms
Cleaned kitchen
Done dishes
Put washing on
Put damp washing in tumble dryer
Folded dry washing
Wiped down bathroom
Changed towels and math mat
Put ironing away
Damp dusted living room

Now I'm getting ready for work think I'm getting the cold nose is streaming!
When I come home
Dust bedrooms
Hoover
Steam mop
Make tea (I'm out for tea tonight)
Empty bin
Sort recycling

Is it just me or does anyone need to hoover wash floors every day? I get agitated if it's not done.
Today I'm going to hoover stairs
Dust banister
Clean downstairs toilet room
Dust upstairs and down stairs
Maybe clean down stairs doors handles.
Do laundry

Morning everyone. Not a good day here, I've been up since 3.10am in agony with a UTI. I've managed to get in at the GP though so now have antibiotics so hopefully they'll kick in quickly.

So far today I have rang to rearrange the kid's dentist spot, rang to cancel my interview for another job today that I didn't really want and been to the GP. That's as far as I have got, I feel horrible!

I'm hoping at some point today to feel well enough to:

• wash breakfast dishes
• washing
• fold and put away clean washing
• dust and polish living room
• clean downstairs bathroom

Don't know if I'll get the energy to do it, we'll see.

Girls I'm jealous of your motivation. My cleaning activities include calling the cleaning agency and getting tequila shots with DH.

Not a great day here for cleaning, I have managed to keep on top of the dishes (no dishwasher) today, made all beds and quickly hoovered downstairs. Also did some weeding and washed the Windows/patio doors whilst little one was out playing. Went to bank and set up some new accounts so I can keep track of finances better. I am worried about bills so need to have a separate account for them. I have a huge mountain of ironing to do (about 2 big laundry baskets (all folded so not just a messy heap) so quite a lot 😢😢 Not doing it tonight, tonight I will clean bathroom whilst little one is having her bath.

Tomorrow will be a good day!

Dd1 now in bed and got a little turn before dd2 is due her next feed so I am taking your advice Kim and putting my feet up and having a couple of ferrero rocher

Desperately need to get enough done that it makes an actual difference instead of just treading water so I'm up and about to start early

Yesterday not much got done as i was sucked into watching all the football on tv. Therefore I have it all to do today.

My list:

Afternoon all I'm just home from work got a mega busy afternoon and a sore head!!

I've done nothing this morning so cracking on now

Get dd organised for party
Get my self organised for going to friends before we go out

• put a washing load on
• hoovered all rooms

• cleaned downstairs loo (scrubbed the loo, cleaned the basin, cleaned the mirror)

Still need to:

• clean bathroom
• mop downstairs loo
• general tidy up
• put laundry into the dryer

Awful start to the day, as soon as I started doing things my spd went mad and my hormones joined in and I've been a blubbering mess

I'm still finishing off those first three jobs

So far today I have

Washed and put away all the dishes
Put washing out to dry, got in and folded ready to iron
Striped 2 beds - duvets airing over stairs banisters
Collected all dirty washing teenager likes to leave everywhere
Cleaned upstairs bathroom thoroughly
Cleaned kitchen surfaces and tidied - same for kitchen table
Hoovered all of downstairs
Fed 2 kids!

Tonight I hopefully will have an hour or so with no kids, so im going to

hit the ironing pile (it's huge) ironing corner is ready and waiting for me all set up
Sort out washing to go in machine overnight
Put my new posters up in dining room (photos of kids, couldn't afford canvases and wasn't sure what I want long term as we've just moved in so got some gorgeous collage posters of the kids to cover the bareness of the walls. Cheap and beautiful!)
Have a shower
Put clean sheets on 2 beds
Go get some food shopping
