Used to do one of these each week but I have become a lazy lazy slob it would seem!

Anyone care to join me with lists and motivation?

Hi everyone. Today's task for me is to get over the worst hangover I've ever had! I went out for dinner and drinks with my sister and now I think I might actually die today. I've just about managed to drink half a glass of lemonade without needing to throw it back up! I think it's definitely going to be an alcohol free Christmas for me!

I doubt any housework will be done today, I still can't move from the sofa. Bleurgh!

penguinsarecool · 20/12/2015 16:00

Oh dear Kim. Did you go mixing your drinks? Xmas Grin

Kim82 · 20/12/2015 16:50

I did. I never learn!

penguinsarecool · 20/12/2015 18:55

It happens to the best of us! I forgot to say ice poles are my hangover cure. 99% of the time they do the trick for me for some reason.

  • wash breakfast dishes done
  • dettol kitchen tops done
  • strips beds and put in washing machine done
  • do another load of washing done
  • make beds *done)
  • wipe bathroom basin done
  • wipe loo done
  • bleach loo done
  • general tidy up done
  • hoover all floors done
  • do some ironing
  • make tea done
  • wash up dishes
  • dettol kitchen tops
Kim82 · 20/12/2015 21:11

I've now returned to feeling like a regular human being. I'm never drinking again!!

List for tomorrow:

  • tidy beds
  • tidy bedrooms
  • Hoover
  • tidy landing - washing is strewn all over it long with various toys
  • laundry
  • fold and put away clean washing
  • sweep and mop downstairs
  • cook a roast (couldn't handle it today)
  • wrap remaining few Christmas presents
  • wipe over upstairs bathroom
Kim82 · 26/12/2015 11:21

Is anyone wanting to keep the thread going now the excitement of Christmas is over? I won't be doing a huge amount of cleaning today we we're going to the inlaws and I'm going out tonight so won't have time but I will definitely be doing plenty cleaning between now and New Year.

This morning I've just washed the dishes and stuck the third load of washing in the machine - we have loads as I've let it build up over the past few days.

No worries if people are fed up of the thread, I'll start writing my lists on paper again as I used to. I need a list written somewhere to keep me motivated, I just won't do the housework otherwise! No idea why this system works for me but it does.

afreshstartplease · 26/12/2015 19:13

I want the thread to carry on!

I don't post as frequent as others but that's because most week days I do nothing as I'm so busy with life!

I've just cleaned the kitchen properly. Taken everything off work tops and scrubbed. Mostly because my soup exploded out the door processor as I was blending it!!
Decluttered my breakfast bar ( dumping ground!) and steam mopped the floor.
Rewarded myself with left over sherry trifle and now lacking motivation to do anything else!

afreshstartplease · 27/12/2015 17:26

Well done Kansas

I've done quite a bit but have three small people following me undoing my hard work

Sigh

Hi everyone! I'm glad we're keeping the thread running, it really helps me keep up with the housework.

I haven't done any cleaning today at all, I've had a lazy day in my pjs watching films and eating chocolate and Pringles. It looks like a bomb site now though so I have my work cut out for me tomorrow - as does dh as he is off work so will be helping. There isn't a single room in the house that is clean or tidy. How depressing!

Tomorrow's jobs, therefore, are:

  • find homes for all new toys, books, etc
  • tidy beds
  • tidy bedrooms
  • dust bedrooms
  • Hoover bedrooms, stairs and landing
  • clean and mop upstairs bathroom
  • tidy living room
  • dust living room
  • wash dishes
  • clear all the crap off the kitchen table
  • clean worktops and table
  • empty bins
  • sweep and mop floors downstairs
  • rip up all the boxes and put in recycling bin
  • put baby's car seat back in the car (it's sitting in the hall as MIL borrowed it as she had her overnight last night)
  • put all shoes on the shoe rack, they're all just thrown on the floor next to it atm
  • clean and mop downstairs bathroom
  • laundry (think there is at least 4 loads to do)
  • fold and put clean washing away
  • cook the roast we didn't have today

I also want to take the Christmas decorations down and get the living room back to normal but I can't see dh agreeing as he likes them. (I can't get into the attic to get the boxes down so need his help with that).

kansasmum · 27/12/2015 21:21

I also managed to do 3 loads of laundry! 2 are dry, one one the airer. Feels good to have got on top of laundry!
Tomorrow I hope to attack ds's room with him and donate some toys to charity to make room for the news ones!!
