Used to do one of these each week but I have become a lazy lazy slob it would seem!

Anyone care to join me with lists and motivation?

Wow penguin, you are doing well.

Kim82 · 22/09/2015 15:41

Towels dried, folded and put away, sofas hoovered (they were disgusting under the cushions), just setting off to Costco.

Kim82 · 22/09/2015 17:14

Costco done, baby's tea made. Now just waiting for bath and bedtime then I can iron uniforms and maybe go to Aldi. I might leave the shopping til tomorrow dependent on how bedtime goes

Kim82 · 23/09/2015 08:17

Morning ladies, is anybody joining me today?

I didn't manage to get to Aldi yesterday as I ran out of energy so that's on the list again today. My jobs are:

Wash breakfast dishes and clean kitchen
Sweep kitchen floor
Go to Aldi
See if there is enough washing for a full load, if so do it, dry it and put it away
Dust living room

Only a short list today thankfully as I took the baby's dummies away last night in an attempt to get her sleeping better soon. She was not amused so I didn't get much sleep last night (again).

penguinsarecool · 23/09/2015 09:14

Morning.

Kim - Bless her. I don't envy anyone taking a young child's dummy off them! Are you going to take it off her full stop or give it back to her during the day?

Today i want to do the weekly kitchen big clean. So anti-bac sides, bleach sink, clean oven, microwave, fridge, and mop floor. I also need to do the usual making beds, washing dishes, general tidy up aswell.

Kim82 · 23/09/2015 09:25

Morning Penguin. We've decided to go cold turkey with the dummies and threw them all in the bin yesterday. She's not asked for it so far this morning but we'll see how it goes at nap time.

Do you clean your oven every week?! What with that and your penchant for ironing I'm starting to think you may be slightly insane! Grin

Anyway, so far the breakfast dishes are done, kitchen cleaned, floor swept and washer on. I'm just going to dress the baby then go to Aldi. I also need to nip to dd2's school to pay the next instalment of her residential trip. It's only 3 houses away though so I'll do that before I jump in the car to Aldi.

penguinsarecool · 23/09/2015 09:38

Not a full clean no lol. Just replace the foil beneath the grill that gets really greasy else, clean the grill and then wipe over the oven door. The inside the oven itself gets done much less frequently. I hate oven cleaning chemicals. Really purgid smell horrible chemicals and the smell really lingers and i'm not overly keen on that smell mixing with food in the oven if you know what i mean? I did mention the other day that the oven and ironing are my two worst chores lol

Kim82 · 23/09/2015 11:32

Oh, maybe you're not losing your mind as much as I thought then, I'll let you off!

Aldi shop has been done and put away, baby has had her lunch, washing is in he dryer, I have dusted and have just eaten lunch myself so I have nothing left to do today. I've just put dd down for a nap - she went straight to sleep without the dummy yay! - so I'll find something good to watch on catch up I think.

Missymoomoo197936 · 23/09/2015 12:39

Afternoon everyone.

So far today I've been to mum's to let the cat in, parents are on holiday so I've been on cat duty, I'll be letting him out later, they are back early hours of tomorrow so last day today.

I've been Asda to stock up on bread and milk, dd1 wanted me to look for a dressing gown for her and I found a lovely pink fluffy one so I hope she likes it.

I've done lunch, hoovered and polished downstairs, this weekend I need to tackle upstairs, I want to get this house at least a little tidier for Christmas.

I've got the UFYH app on my phone and it's actually quite good, so I done one of the challenges on there.

Later I need to dig out my white blouse and black skirt as I have a Job interview tomorrow, at the place I'm working at already but a permanent position, I'm a bank domestic at the moment.

penguinsarecool · 23/09/2015 13:38

I'm not quite a looney just yet Kim or even a OCD compulsive cleaner like those off the tv programme lol.

Good luck with the interview tomorrow Missymoo

Ok today i have:

  • wash breakfast dishes done
  • make beds done
  • wipe over bathroom done
  • anti-bac kitchen tops done
  • bleach kitchen sink done
  • clean fridge done
  • clean oven and hobs done
  • clean microwave done
  • mop kitchen floor done
  • general tidy up done

Woohoo Grin

Kim82 · 24/09/2015 07:58

Morning ladies. Anyone up for carrying this on today?

Good luck with the interview today Missymoo. Also, did your dd like the dressing gown?

I feel like a different person today, the baby actually slept well, only woke 3 times for seconds at a time. Tis a miracle!

Anyway, I have a plumber coming this morning to sort out some banging pipes so have to get stuff done as quickly as possible.

Penguin - how do you do the bold writing?

Today's jobs are:

Tidy away breakfast dishes and clean kitchen
Wipe over downstairs bathroom
Fold and put away clean washing which was left in the dryer from yesterday (lazy!)
Go to sainsburys to buy dd3 some new long sleeved tshirts as there's a 25% off sale.
If I have time go to Ikea for some little boxes.

I think that's all for today.

penguinsarecool · 24/09/2015 08:23

Morning.

Kim look below the box where you type your messagw for this thread. To the right of the smiley there is a bit called Emphasis with instructions to write in bold. Basically you put a star either side of the words you want to make bold. And woohoo for dd sleeping better! Smile

Today i need to blitz and bleach the bathroom. Also need to do the usual day to day stuff. Going swimming with a friend this evening at teatime.

penguinsarecool · 24/09/2015 13:43

Done all my chores for the day like a good girl Smile

Made beds
Washed breakfast dishes
Anti-bac'd the kitchen tops
Done general tidy up
Cleaned the bath
Cleaned bathroom tiles
Cleaned and bleached the basin
Cleaned and bleached the loo
Mopped the bathroom floor

Banger and mash with onion gravy for tea tonight.

Missymoomoo197936 · 24/09/2015 13:45

Busy day today so not much getting done, have whipped round with the polish and duster.

Interview went well, I got the job Grin

DD1 loved her dressing gown thanks kim.

So I've decided not to do too much today, just general tidying up, had a nightmare morning as I got foundation on my blouse I was going to wear to the interview, luckily I had another, but not plain white, didn't matter though as they said I looked smart and that some they had interviewed had turned in leather jackets.

penguinsarecool · 24/09/2015 14:00

Woohoo well done Missymoo. When do you start your job? lol at the person turning up for an interview in leathers. I swear some people have a brain the size of a flea when its comes to common sense! I'd take the day off the chores too if i were you and be feeling pretty chuffed with myself Grin

Missymoomoo197936 · 24/09/2015 15:48

Thank you penguin, I've treated myself to a bottle of wine to celebrate with Grin

Ha I know, do they really think wearing a leather jacket will get them the job?

Kim82 · 25/09/2015 08:14

Morning ladies. Sorry I didn't return to the thread yesterday, I had an influx of visitors! Anyway, congratulations on the job Missymoo! That's great news, when do you start?

I've managed to keep on top of most of the housework so don't have loads to do but my list is:

Go to weightwatchers (I know I've put weight on after a terrible week)
Fold and put away clean washing that is STILL in the dryer from Wednesday!
Do another load of washing
Wash breakfast dishes and clean kitchen
Sweep and mop floors downstairs
Sort out paperwork needed to put in a PPI claim (been meaning to do it for months!).
Dust living room.

penguinsarecool · 25/09/2015 08:31

Morning.

My turn for guests today, well two guests, got a friend and her dd around for coffee at 10. Nothing too major lol.

First list before they arrive:
Wash breakfast dishes
dettol kitchen tops
domestos the loo
general tidy up

Will add another list later.

Kim82 · 25/09/2015 11:53

I'm back from WW and I've put on 3lb. How depressing!

Never mind though, I've done all jobs apart from sort the PPI stuff, I'll do that when baby wakes up as the boxes I need to look in are in her room.

afreshstartplease · 27/09/2015 07:33

Well

It seems I started this thread and then wandered off (not to clean)

But I am back!

My house has I feel reached a grubby low and I am determined to sort it

Kim82 · 27/09/2015 07:51

Morning AFreshStart, I honestly find this thread really motivating and once I've written the jobs that need doing on a public forum it makes me feel really lazy if I don't do them! I kind of missed it yesterday but thought people were getting fed up of it. I'm game if you are today?

I'm currently hiding in bed before the chaos starts. It's meant to be my turn for a lie in but I can hear everyone being noisy downstairs so I can't sleep. At least it means u can make a start on the cleaning that bit earlier. Anyway, my jobs for today are:

Strip all 6 beds and re-make them.
Wash, dry and put away bed covers
Clean, sweep and mop kitchen.
Dust, sweep and mop living room.
Clean downstairs bathroom.
Clean windows downstairs.
Iron uniforms (I might do a weeks worth rather than having to get the iron out later in the week, not decided yet but I have to do at least one set each for the elder 3 kids ready for tomorrow).
Help 8 year old dd with her homework.
Cook a roast.

I think that's it for today. I'm gonna get up in a minute and have a cup of tea and a shower before I start though. It's too early to clean yet!

afreshstartplease · 27/09/2015 07:53

I am definitely game

I didn't seem to wash any pots yesterday so that's my first job, have already made a start

I have lots to do but think short lists will give me motivation to finish each quicker

So first list

All the pots
Clean out pets
Empty bins

OP posts:
DownUdderer · 27/09/2015 11:07

I might jump in and dream up a list for me to tackle tomorrow (I'm Down Under so it's evening here), we've embarked on a major spring-clean at the moment and have achieved loads over the weekend. I'm hoping we can finish the last few bits tomorrow, then we have a flat inspection (because we rent) on Tuesday and then I'm really hoping to keep on top of it all :)

Clear off the top of the bread bin (dumping ground)
Clear off the top of the tall boy (also dumping ground)
Mop Kitchen floor
Mop bathroom floor
Wipe dinning area wall
Sort out the chair in bedroom that is piled up with my clothes
Pack away some blankets
Rearrange glasses cupboard in kitchen
Wipe mirrors
Wipe down leather sofa

And that will do for now!! I will have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old 'helping' me, and I am 35 weeks pregnant!

Missymoomoo197936 · 27/09/2015 11:18

Morning all, I'm doing slimming world Kim, I have weigh in tomorrow, don't think I've lost anything, I had wine last night and that is weigh over my 15 syns I'm allowed per day, so a slight fuzzy head this morning, I need to sort this part of my life out I think, Just stick to 1 bottle if I'm treating myself or have the small ones.

I've already got washing out, my 2nd load has finished, Just about to put potatoes in for Jacket spuds for lunch.

Prepare dinner for the slow cooker for when I finish work at 7 this evening.

My new job starts soon, it's doing what I'm doing now but on 1 ward, I'll be a ward caterer Grin I'm Just a bank domestic at the moment.

Kim82 · 27/09/2015 11:33

Good luck with the new job Missymoo and hi DownUdderer.

So far I've stripped the beds, washed all the covers and hung them out to dry and the kitchen has been cleaned.

Dh has now decided it's vital that we go to Ikea for some storage boxes so I've had to leave the cleaning for a while to go there. Straight back on it when I get in though as I still have loads to do!

I also remembered I need to Hoover the bedrooms, stairs and landing too.
