A shiny new thread for our soon-to-be shiny homes Grin
Spring cleaning time is upon us (or autumn cleaning time depending where you are in the world)

Thought this thread could last through April as well. Given how nobody but the lovely MrsN clocked how far into March it was already

Oh my God we have a STAR! Star

Thanks comeagain - his side is actually the side furthest from the door so I wouldn't even see them myself. Perfect.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/03/2015 12:51

yep we do. after years of begging we finally do have a Star. so happy about itSmile

I'm still sitting in sunny corner. listening to BabyZing screaming. after much crying he fell asleep for 15 mins (I put tumble dryer on) but now up and yelling.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/03/2015 12:55

and fudge I would but honestly i have no energy to fight them. I'm only one person.
yesterday evening DD poured a jug of apple juice on me and I sat there in dripping clothes for 10 mins before I could manage to stand up.
it was that bad.

I think I'm gonna go to bed

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/03/2015 13:01

step 5 - put on TD
step 6 - decided to have a nap, so got Baby out of cot and now bf in bed.
fx I can sleep

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/03/2015 13:59

step 7 - he is up. Grin

comeagainforbigfudge · 18/03/2015 14:05

Aw poor zing. Today sounds like a Brew and Cake day with lots of naps

And that must have be at least 45 winks for you as well! I ? naps

I've got out of bed and washed the dishes and put a clothes wash on. But still in jammies, now contemplating getting one of my nursey books out to read up on epidurals/spinals/induction etc so I look mighty well informed for my next appointment Grin

fudge

i had 5 with epidurals (DS1 ended up being forceps), 1 ELCS and one rocket baby with no painkillers so if I can be of any assistance...Wink

comeagainforbigfudge · 18/03/2015 14:12

I like the sound of the rocket baby!!

In theory I understand the benefits of epidurals. But having had to assist Dr's putting them in or dealing with aftermath of them not working effectively i've a wee mental hill to climb.

Totally irrational.

Thank you though. I mat come back and pick your brains once I've had my anaesthetic r/v Grin

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 18/03/2015 14:19

we did have a problem with the cannula curving after insertion once (DS2) and no painrelief on left side as a result. had to be re-sited but then he was ready to be born - in fact the little bit of pain helped me to push so on balance it was ok.

I love epidurals but then I'm a wuss.
rocket baby was great. got to hospital at 6am. was examined at 6.10 (dilated to 6cm). 2 sips of G& A and wanted to push.
re-exam at 6.15 - I was 10cms Shock
he was born after 3 pushes at 6.35

painful as hell but at least quick.

when kids take ages to get ready i always say "I have given birth faster than that". coz it's true Grin

LetThereBeCupcakes · 19/03/2015 11:25

Zing How many children do you have? I keep miscounting from your post! But it's more than the one I have - how on earth do you keep on top of things?

My plans all fell apart yesterday when I returned home from work to discover DD2 had had explosive diarhoea all over the lounge and kitchen. Took me an HOUR to clean it all up - one patch on the carpet was already dry so no chance of getting the stain out Sad.

DS and I decided to spend the rest of the afternoon outside so instead of cleaning the bathroom we planted seeds. Much more fun. I did put another coat of paint on his wardrobe though, so at least something was achieved!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/03/2015 14:25

Cupcakes

we have 7 children.
aged 13, 11, 10, 8, almost 5, almost 3 (only girl) and 8m

today so far I have done Tesco shopping, put away cold & frozen stuff and put on the chicken carcass with celery etc to boil for a broth/stock.

and worked a bit on my Wolly Hug squares.
that's it.
I'm not very productive but less stressed today somehow

how is everyone?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 19/03/2015 14:26

oh and i can not keep on top of things. I'm drowning

comeagainforbigfudge · 20/03/2015 09:20

7 children!!! That's amazing allowed to not be on top of things I feel

I'm hoping to do some more painting this morning but back was agony yesterday and got work all weekend so don't want to push my luck. Might have some brekkie then see how I feel.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/03/2015 09:41

watch it fudge

stretching ligaments and painting walls are not best friends. just saying.
you can however paint your nails despite what some fanatics say about the fumes harming baby

DH is working from home so I'm going to push myself to put away some clothes.
wish me luckGrin

comeagainforbigfudge · 20/03/2015 12:05

I know I know zing. I'm just getting fed up with the SLOW progress of OH. He's still in his bed (he's on annual leave so trying not to get ratty about it as won't be long before neither of us gets much sleep but I wants it done Angry plus he always harps on about how little sleep he needs then sleeps the clock round every day off we have together Angry Angry irrational, me? Never!)

I've not done anything yet
Going to
put a wash on
write some questions for Dr
Shower
Phone gp to arrange whooping cough jab/beg for omeprazole or ranitidine for terrible heartburn
Consider banging pots n pans in OH'S ear to wake him up

Grin
OP posts:
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/03/2015 13:22

How's the pot banging going?Grin

i made a headstart. The Big Bedroom (where DS4, DS5 & DD sleep) looks like a toy factory just has thrown up in itGrin
but it is essential, you can not sort toys without first pouring everything into a massive pile of crap you wish you could just stick in the skip

I scooped out all the stuff from under the beds, DH fixed the slats on 2 beds and changed the sheets.
I filled 2 plastic boxes with wooden train tracks & trains - these are ready to go up on the loft.

I'm also sorting through DD's clothes - I have a big emotional thing about them so I'm just sorting, not getting rid of anything, unless properly broken or irreversibly dirty.

If all goes well we are having building work starting in a month so panic is rising and it gives me the push to face reality.

I decided to have no expectations of how much I (we) progress, but get on with it and be happy about anything that gets done

RaspberryBlonde · 21/03/2015 08:30

Morning all, happy weekend.

Back home again now so main task for the day is unfucking all the dirty laundry we brought with us. Place we stayed had a washing machine but not really any space to dry anything so only ended up washing nappies.

Then, hopefully tidy up airing cupboard as all the towels are falling out when the door is opened.

Hope your painting got done comeagain, I have same issues with my DH. He likes to relax, then do his chores and I would far rather the other way around as it means I just end up finding more things to do while he does his stuff rather than relaxing myself.

Zing I think it's a miracle you get anything done with 7 DCs as I barely get anything done half the time with one. Definitely thing the 'anything is better than nothing' is the right approach.

Right, off to sort the mess that has appeared in the kitchen over breakfast.

pippahooper · 21/03/2015 09:10

Hi, Can i join this thread please?

AdoraBell · 21/03/2015 18:37

Hello Pippa Smile

So DH unfucked the kitchen while I went To collect DD2 who had slept at a mate's and never switched her bloody phone on which meant I had no sleep after not being able To contact her since she left for school in the am

Did unfuck the Vacuuming yesterday, and hand washed my bras, but Fuck all else really. And Today I am knackered and annoyed with DD2 so I don't predict a productivo day other than dinner.

I had and epidural because my Dr. insisted on it for delivering twins. Then they left it in place for 5 days To help with any pain I might have afterwardsHmm. This was in central América so Doubt they'd do the same in the UK.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/03/2015 20:36

a lot has been achieved today and DD was an absolute star letting me try all of her dresses and knickers on (to try which still fit).

I've sorted 4 massive boxes of toys (duplo, lego, baby toys and others categories) and also collected all that need to go back to grandma.

also sorted some of the last bits of the baby clothes and one big bag of boy's clothes given by a friend (some we'll keep some goes to charity)

DH sorted and put away Fekking Clothes Everest and I'm very pleased with progress so far.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 21/03/2015 20:37

just in case you try to be funny, DD was trying on her on clothes. not me!Grin
