A shiny new thread for our soon-to-be shiny homes Grin
Spring cleaning time is upon us (or autumn cleaning time depending where you are in the world)

Thought this thread could last through April as well. Given how nobody but the lovely MrsN clocked how far into March it was already

Glad little fudge is doing well, agree with cupcakes though, at four weeks I was still mainly parked on the sofa. I only managed to put away my maternity clothes about 2 months ago!

Definitely need to bin some stuff before moving, I'm hoping to start tackling some of the paperwork cupboards of doom while everywhere is tidy. I'm sure we will get some surprises as DH's approach to tidying does tend to be hiding stuff in the nearest cupboard...

Jobs for tomorrow:

  • laundry
  • clean bathrooms
  • check mobile contract isn't going to triple in cost when it ends in a couple of weeks
  • birthday card for MIL
comeagainforbigfudge · 10/07/2015 15:10

Ah see I think cos I no longer have constant pelvic girdle pain when I move I'm all "woo hoo I can move so let's do stuff" plus I'd managed to get away with most of my own clothes throughout my pregnancy god bless primary stretchy tops so not much to pack up Grin

Not much happening today though as was at dentist this morning. Waiting on lo falling asleep then will make my lunch (now mouth de-numbed) and hopefully catch some zzzzz's myself!

I REALLY need to get back on the horse here. House is a STATE. Urgh. Messe everwhere and we've somehow slipped in to having too much stuff again. How did that happen? HOW?

I've even been looking at the Flylady website again. This is BAD.

Right. Come on.

  • Book theatre trip
  • July mealplans (yes, yes I know I'm a bit late)
  • Clean bathroom
  • Dinner
  • Laundry
comeagainforbigfudge · 14/07/2015 15:51

Today I have managed to:

Shower and wash hair! Then dry it with a HAIRDRYER Grin
Wash dishes
Sort the tea/coffee cupboard

Oooooh cupcake what you off to see at theatre?

OP posts:
LetThereBeCupcakes · 14/07/2015 16:38

Hairdryer you say? What's that then?

Booked to see a puppet version of going on a bear hunt, which will be DS' first theatre trip. Also hoping to see miss saigon but that will depend on finances!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 15/07/2015 08:34

Sorry that last post was a bit short and sharp! I was on my phone and I can't get on with it. Too big for my hand and I keep dropping it.

My Dad has DS this afternoon so I've got some time to myself. Need to get a bit done in the garden but other than that:

Tidy DS' room
Put away clean laundry
Reward chart for DS
Check birthdays

Still haven't done July mealplan Blush

comeagainforbigfudge · 15/07/2015 16:44

Oh how exciting for your DS. I've not been to theatre for years. Might need to rectify that soon.

I've been a walk
Washed half the dishes (hv arrived mid washing, never went back to them Blush)
Hacked down some "trees"
A Gardener appeared to do next door neighbours lawn. Hijacked him for advice. Turns out that "tree" is a weed ha SMUG FACE everyone said it was an ash tree but it grows far too quickly and I just knew it wasn't
He's also going to tidy our front garden. Which just needs getting on top of t
then I can get start looking after it properly Grin

Need to put garden tools away but velcro child sleeping on me. She looks far too peaceful to move her though

Go to the theatre NOW fudge, tiny babies go anywhere then suddenly they are noisy and heavy when they fall asleep on you. Hope you enjoyed your trip cupcakes

Am also feeling guilty about meal planning, have well and truly fallen off the bandwagon with that one...

Other tasks for next few days:

  • deadhead roses
  • online shopping order
  • try to get shredder working...I fed it too much paper and it is jammed Blush
LetThereBeCupcakes · 20/07/2015 08:19

fudge have you booked that theatre trip yet? Grin

House is a STATE again. I'm doing OK at keeping on top of things usually, but then something happens (really busy weekend or something) and suddenly I'm all behind and I can't catch up. I need some sort of action plan for sorting out after a weekend away.

Plan for today:

  • August mealplans (given up on July)
  • Laundry
  • Vacuum (thanks for chewing up the pine cones on the carpet, DDog)
  • Diary check with DH
  • Invite people to BBQ for DH's birthday.
  • Order swimming badges for DS

I got shockingly sunburnt yesterday (despite it being so cold I was wearing a coat all day) and now my face looks like a beetroot.

RaspberryBlonde · 24/07/2015 08:24

Think a lot of people got caught out last weekend cupcakes, I saw quite a few 'sun kissed' people in the office! Hope it has recovered now.

List for today:
Trip to shops for BBQ supplies for DH's birthday (despite unpromising weather forecast)
Laundry - have first load on now but see above re weather...
Tidy kitchen
Catch up on a few bits of work stuff
Ring round solicitors for conveyancing costs

We are the same after weekends away, recently we've tried to do more bits in the week and rely less on a weekend blitz but it's hard to motivate yourself at 10pm after a day at work, especially when I'm usually up before 530!

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/08/2015 10:52

Oft my wee pad is such a tip. The first burst of energy/motivation I had post birth has clearly went.

It's finally meant to be sunny today up here in freezing Scottish-land.

Instead of going out out I'm going to open all the windows and start cleaning up.

To do
Kitchen (as always!!)
Living room
Bedroom 1
Bathroom

It may take all weekend but I will do it Grin
Got a wash on already Star

Then I'm going to assign a day to each room to try keep on top of it.

Wish me luck!!

Good luck fudge! Hope little fudge is doing well.

I also have good intentions for the weekend...kitchen is largely done (will finish floor after lunch), laundry washed and will hang out in a minute.

I have next week off work as our childminder is on holiday so will be trying not to make too much mess and maybe get a few other bits done during nap times if they actually last more than 20 minutes
