Zones

Just noticed that we end the month on the Lounge... PLEASE tell me that I will get to do a full week in my diningroom???

Bathroom photos later, plus the disaster that is my half FLYed bedroom . No point in DD's room... didn't touch it!!!

Dressed, washing in... off to school

Ooh, my master bedroom is a total tip, might do some before and after piccies myself!

tamsino · 18/09/2006 08:07

Morning all.

Feeling good after a weekend of emotion and misery

I have washing on, dishwasher on, beds made and have dusted in my living room (with a baby wipe while DD was on potty - does that count?)

Kelly's mission isnt too bad today for me as all I have under the bed is a dusty box of scrabble.

Flame - dining room was in zone 1 (week1) which I missed too but I expect it will be the week after next again.

trinityshiftingherleatheryarse · 18/09/2006 08:15

agh today s the day that dd1's friend comes over aaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhh
part of me doesn't want to throw everything into cupboards to fake a look of organisation

part of me is so terrified that she is going to think I'm dirty and gross

oh godd why do I feel like this

ok breathe, I'm going to try and calm down and not fake it, I'll have a little go around after @ve taken dd1 to school, clean the loo , do the dishwasher and tidy a couple of hotspots and then she'll just have to take me as I am...................I think I can cope with that

god i bet she lives in a show home

shazronnie · 18/09/2006 08:16

lounge is next week. dining room is always the first part week of the month, and as 1st Oct is Sunday i guess we have a whole week this time.

18th - 22nd Sept - bedroom (THIS WEEK)
25th - 29th Sept - lounge
2nd - 6th Oct - dining room, hall etc
9th - 13th Oct - kitchen
16th - 20th Oct bathroom
23rd - 28th Oct - bedroom
30th -31st Oct - lounge

shazronnie · 18/09/2006 08:18

trinity - relax, just do a quick home blessing, swish and swipe, and you'll be okay!

Tamsino - dusting with a wet wipe definitely counts!

I'm off for a shower - will return later after the weekly blessing is done

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 08:19

Thankyou! I will still be needing to erect some sort of tent-like structure so that Psychomum can walk from the lounge to the kitchen...

samnbabes · 18/09/2006 09:03

Oh no, master bedroom is the one I've been dreading ... carnage! ANd dd still sleeping in there (mid-decorating her room) so can't do my flying while she sleeps as have done to date...

Trinty - isn't it mad how scared we feel of being judged by a bit of dirt and clutter?? Like they're going to walk in and yell 'uggghhh, my son's not playing HERE!!!'

trinityshiftingherleatheryarse · 18/09/2006 09:07

i know, it's silly isn't it
I have this huge overwhelming feeling that she's going ot think I'm skanky and then go and tell every other mother at the school gates and everyone will avoid me like the plague

squatchette · 18/09/2006 09:20

morning flyers, been up about an hour and still haven't woken up despite a jog (to the shops ..for a pack of fags) . Had a quick scoot round the kitchen as soon as i got up as i looked at the clock and thought it was an hour later than it was and worried i'd missed letting the workmen in, washing was still in dryer but sink was shining in all it's newness ahh.Hoping the kitchen will be finished by the end of this week told dds we'll have a little party and a ribbon they can cut to declare it open.
The babes have just got up and are eating their breaky in front of cbeebies love watching their little faces light up as they watch.DD age 3.5 is hopefuly starting nursery any time now just waiting to hear that a nurse has been employed to go with her as she has a tracheostomy and is tube fed. The whole process has taken for ever and it sounds selfish but i can't wait for the break ,only 2.5 hrs a day but it'll be the first time we've been apart since birth .We have been offered respite of 2 weeks a year at a hospice but it doesn't seem right leaving her at such a young age or taking a place when there are much more poorly kids who may need it. Well i better get off now and get the girls dressed will check in later.

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 09:25

Trinity - it will be fine.

Say the worst does happen and she hates your home... do you really want to be liked by someone who doesn't care what you are like? The other mums will make their decisions based on wanting to know you, and wanting you to live in a clean house... I know that I'd rather not know the ones who only care about the house.

Beccarolloveragain · 18/09/2006 09:30

Hi Everyone, I missed most of last week (its domestickler by the way, gone back to my original mumsnet name )

Things are ok here - I slipped a bit last week and felt that I had gone back to square one but underneath it all it wasnt too bad and only took a little while to put right.

This morning I have made DS's room up, put a load in, put a load on line, emptied dishwasher, swished and swiped in the bathroom.

Need to do my home blessing first before anything else.

Back in a bit!

dreamcatcher · 18/09/2006 09:39

Trinity
I used to tidy up b4 kids came to play even if their parents weren't going to see the house. Then a kid who came from a 'before picture' house told me my house was a mess ( ihad piles of ironed clothes on the dining table). I was gob-smacked and don't bother any more! The parents are probably glad to see that you're normal. We all put pressure on each other by tidying for visitors, it should stop!!!!!

DontlookatmeImshy · 18/09/2006 09:40

Morning ladies.

This is the week i've been dreading

Oh well better get stuck in i suppose.

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 09:43

Yes - by not tidying we are being kind to the world

mummy2ashton · 18/09/2006 09:43

morning ladies! glad its my bedroom zone this week, it needs a bit of a tidy and clean! im gonna be mega busy today with running the breastfeeding support group this morning and then i have an appointment with a carears advisor (why oh why do they keep sending me for appointments?! grrr) so wont be home till about 3 or 4pm. better go now and wake ds up and get a shower. hope everyone is doing well

BBWBabeLisa · 18/09/2006 10:07

Master bedroom, excellent!! I made a huge dent in that yesterday. This morning I did something I haven't done very often since DD was born. I got up, showered and dressed before getting her up. Thankfully she's the most contented baby on earth and happily amuses herself in her cot til someone comes and gets her up.
mummy2ashton - thats really cool, running the breastfeeding support group. I had mega problems bf with DD, and will definitely be seeking out a group like that with the next one.

mummyhill · 18/09/2006 10:17

Morning all.

I am in desperate need of a kick up the bum to get some work done please girls.

damewashalot · 18/09/2006 10:19

I'll kick you if you'll kick me go on move it go get the hoover out and start your blessing not got past swish and swipe this morning I am truely lazy

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 10:23

Urgh bedroom

Not enthused

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 10:25

DS is grumpy if that is a reasonable excuse... screaming if I dare to put him down

shazronnie · 18/09/2006 10:33

come on you lot!
GET A MOVE ON!!

I've done my blessing, except for mop and vac - I'll do that later when DS2 asleep.

Skribble · 18/09/2006 10:36

Don't like the name home blessing but it is a good way to start the week.

Main bedroom (master yuck!) has been started on a bit last week and DH has made an effort to clear out some of his clothes. Kellys mission is going to be interesting as I don't know what is under the bed.

Skribble · 18/09/2006 10:37

Kids still away so I had a lie in and I am having my breakfast, but I have got a wash on. Will fly into action after a shower. I want to go for a decent walk today as well though before kids get back.
