lol @ Q and Ruby

i have cleaned the kitchen after dinner but the living room is a mess and i cant get up/down easily cos of said foot so plan to try and cajole dh into doing. he even bought me stash of 'emergency chocolate' earlier

like the boiler tip Ruby - actually did it the other day but very worthwhile and just showing i do pay attention.

have a nice evening all.

Beccarolloveragain · 22/09/2006 19:19

Q sorry your having to deal with all of this.

My DH is being a twerp too, has been miserable since coming in from work and has just given me a real, patronising telling off about forgetting to lock the back door.

Apparently "If you behaved like that in a proper job you wouldnt last a week"

I said, look Im sorry but if I just had myself to think about like you then maybe I would remember every single thing but as it happens Im juggling lots of things (2 kids of my own, childminder to 3 kids and run an ironing business as well as try and FLY this flaming house, social life, all of our finances etc etc")

He reckons that is bollocks and if so that I should go to work and earn the money and he can stay at home and do nothing (er HELLO I look after 2 kids and run 2 businesses)

ANYWAY dickhead husbands aside I just tried an amazing tip!

Saw it on how clean is your house the other day.

On the back of my UPVC front door were loads of old sticky marks from cellotape and stickers. Normal cleaners have never removed them but just used some nail varnish remover on them and they came straight off easily. It was fab, no effort at all!!!

Quootiepie · 22/09/2006 20:10

dont worry about me - DH packed his things, packed the car and got as far as the end of the road! Hes cooking dinner as we speak

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 20:38

Q You have had a mixed day of feelings. Just hope they stay on the good side from now on.
I have been reading loads of other threads and getting really tired. [sleepy icon]
Ruby. I used my heating the other day. Got to cold for me. (health) And I went round and done all the radiators. (Bleeding I think its called, getting any air out.) xp2 showed me how to do it last year as we had 1 that kept getting loads of air in it and then would not work.
Off to bed soon I think. (My date for the night)
Wtach some TV, films, dvds. So NN all. xxx

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 20:46

I meant to say, I glad your sol thinks things might be better tortoise
I just realised that I have posted on another thread that I have ME.So I might as well tell all now that I have ME to deal with too. Myalgic Encephalopathy (ME) or a newer name is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) much the same thing. More people get told about CFS than ME now a days.

BarefootJasnem · 22/09/2006 20:52

My best friend is struggling with ME (and being a newly single parent) too. I hope you get some help, as I know how hard it can be.

OP posts:
IvortheEngine · 22/09/2006 21:06

I had ME for a few years (hence a big backlog of receipts etc in the house) but got better about 18 months ago. It was rotten while it lasted, so I sympathise with you hazelnuts.

Am off to find the bed which is underneath stuff. I have about 2 boxes of winterish e-baying stuff, 1 of summer stuff, have put the summer clothes I want to keep in another bag, have found the top of one chest of drawers (dd said she hadn't seen it for years and she may well be right, ME, you see!) there's 1 box for women's refuge/charity shop and a pile of mess to work through. I want to get to bed at a decent time so I'm going to go and sort it quietly as dd is now in bed.

hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 21:19

I have had it a long time now. I had to change the way I live. I dont get any help at home as I`m single. But I cope ok. I know I most not over do things or I will be bad like I was before I had DC. Then your mind can do all sorts of things as well then.

BarefootJasnem · 22/09/2006 21:31

I've just cleaned all the woodwork in my house with babywipes. Looks so much better without the black fingerprints on everything.

OP posts:
BarefootJasnem · 22/09/2006 21:34

I've been recommending the FLY lady o my friend, I think the whole 15 min of work, regular rest, and babysteps would fit in to ME lifestyle, but she was overwhelmed by the emails.

((((If there is a purple person out there, lurking, come and join us!)))))

OP posts:
hazelnuts · 22/09/2006 21:39

BarefootJasnem It works for me very well, I over did it with the bedroom the other day though. [humm] I was told to work little times with the same amount of rest between working times.
I was spose to be going to bed, but I keep seeing threads to read. lol

Skribble · 22/09/2006 22:01

Hi flying folk. Had a date night with DD we stopped off at the supermarket and got nice things for supper, cuddled up and watched the simpsons. Shes off to bed happy now, did have to clear ouy yet more spiders from her room.

Little by little I feel I am getting somewhere. Much better than my occasional bursts of cleaning (usually when MIL is coming round) which leaves us feeling depressed and exhuasted. Keep at everyone, we can do it. .

tortoise · 22/09/2006 22:46

Awww Skribble that sounds lovely.

Found out this tonight! And ss think my ds's should live there!!!

Skribble · 22/09/2006 23:21
