Oooh blessing... good point. DS has finally dozed off so I'll get downstairs hoovered.

Chloe55 · 18/09/2006 11:13

OMG, I have been so busy this morning, I have flown in the bedrooma nd actually got finished ! It has been the one room I have been dreading and I have even gone as far as changing the furniture round just for something different. Here are the results:

master bedroom

hi all
i wasn't looking forward to this week... master bedroom is our worst room. i have started on a corner of it the other week, but that's getting cluttered up again. bah.

today i managed to get DD, DS and myself ready for school (with a lot of preparation the night before - worked really well!). i sent ebay items. paid in a cheque. i don't think i'll get much else done as DP is sick and DS is teething.

singersgirl · 18/09/2006 11:20

Hi all. Have done 15 minutes clearing under the bed and am now helping DH to put together annoying IKEA unit. Got to go as he is sighing loudly at me doing this!

ParanoidAndroid · 18/09/2006 11:25

Morning girls! Hi TR - nice to hear from you, how are you feeling? Don't worry about what others think (esp other children - they can sometimes be worse than their mums!) - you know that you are doing your best, as are we all, and as someone said, if others judge you on your housework than how shallow are they? (I would be billy-no-mates if that was the case!!)

I've had an active morning so far - animals fed and exercised, run to/from school and an hour's pilates class. I'm absolutely bl**dy knackered and want to lie down now but I'd better get flying! Our bedroom is pretty good, but I think I might start in DS' room - who knows WHAT is lurking under his bed!

BTW, the new Scissor Sisters album is brilliant for doing the housework to. I'm only about 5 songs into it at the mo, but feet are jumping up and down and I'm ready to go!

I'll catch up with you later.

lucy5 · 18/09/2006 11:26

Ok, sorry to be thick but how does this work? It sounds like something I need.

Chloe55 · 18/09/2006 11:42

Basically, Lucy, it is some American woman who has set up a website to help you get your house in order, clean and decluttered. It is more or less common sense but good for those of us who need a kick up the ass and constant reminding to do something about it. It also goes through different routines to follow to keep up to your cleaning and helps you to keep motivated. Check out the website which has been linked at the beginning of this thread. Some of it is pretty far-fetched (like making sure you wear shoes at all times) but on the whole it is pretty helpful. So many people have commented on not only my house but also me and my attitude - I think my dh is falling in love with me all over again

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 18/09/2006 11:43

Well I've only just got up so my day will 'start' this afternoon after lunch - but I think I may join you in 'blessing' my master bedroom - we've still got all the stuff in there from when the business folded last year.........(the entire contents of DH's office!).

SKYTVADICT · 18/09/2006 12:18

Hi all

I really do need a kick to make me get on. Been for first midwife check up/booking in this morning so not done a lot yet. Going to have lunch then maybe do weekly home blessing but really don't have any energy or incentive!

Not even made beds yet or swished and swiped. I left coke in the loo all morning as I had heard it can get rid of lime scale but it didn't and now I have a really dirty loo which I have to clean and with having morning sickness it isn't looking too hopeful - Yuk!!

shazronnie · 18/09/2006 12:20

welcome hrh and lucy!

chloe - your bed looks lovely now - does it make you want to get back in it?!

oh I've done flying before - but got bogged down with all the emails (came online to read them - then got sidetracked on other stuff - and nothing got done!). House has now descended into semi chaos

Although doing ok since I got up - got two loads of washing on - sink's already clean (DH makes sure of that LOL). About to eat and put DS2 down for a nap then I think I'll perhaps attack the Master Bedroom !

Skribble · 18/09/2006 12:49

1 load on the line another one in.

Done blessing type stuff upstairs (needs another name). I decided to do 10 mins in each room instead of 10 min dusting, 10 hoovering etc. Seemed to make more sense to do it that way. I concentrated on dusting and cleaning around windows as we are infested with spiders so webs everywhere and frames and ledges were really grotty.

Faced my demon and cleaned the upstairs landing window outside. Just a quick clean but at least I can see daylight.

This evening I will try to do under bed mission, a bit of ironing and perhaps quick fix downstairs (blessing).

Off to Lidls to try and get running trainers and rewards for clean bathroom ie new shower caddy. Already got new shower curtain £1,49 from Morrisons got to beat trying to clean the old one . Bye for now.

JessaJam · 18/09/2006 12:58

HEALTH WARNING! When I start diving under the bed in the "master bedroom" I will have an asthma attack and get itchy eyes and runny nose. Just so you know!

Our bedroom is a total PIT, I hate it, it is about as restful and romantic as a night in a landfill site

I'm off work today as ds has the squits (oh joy!) and DH is ill too (sleeping all the time, feeling sick, achey). I'm the only one who isn't crocked!!

mummy2ashton · 18/09/2006 13:36

i actually can't wait to do under my bed, i lost my mobile a couple of months ago and i have a feeling its under the bed. also lost my tweezers and think they are there too! will have to totally move bed though cos there is only a little gap, will take ages!

xxx

samnbabes · 18/09/2006 14:01

jessajam - lol at night in a landfill ... are you sleeing in my bedroom too ... perhaps behind the pile of clothes in the corner???

singersgirl · 18/09/2006 14:31

Sorted out all my duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases, and have removed from my linen chest the annoying double sheets that only fit the sofa bed and not our king size. Have also chucked out some really old stained linen and plan to put the boys' linen in their rooms when I clear out some old clothes.

DH has finally built the TV unit so our office/spare room is getting better.

Quootiepie · 18/09/2006 14:35

there you all are! Guess what - no FLYing for me! at MILS - should be home tomorrow!!!

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 14:39

Taken bedroom shots but not sure I want to post em... Is it possible for it to look worse than last time???

damewashalot · 18/09/2006 14:42
Blush
damewashalot · 18/09/2006 14:47

I can't believe how bad under my bed was
Not stuff, dust. We have wooden floor in our room, no carpet to hide the dust, but it's clean now[grin, even washed the floor and found the top of the chest of drawers which is a real hot spot. Can't breathe but never mind that
Flame don't worry about it, you did it last time you can do it again. It's quite reasuring to know that it's messy again as I sort of imagine that you all do a room, it looks lovely and then stays that way, which I can't do, yay, I'm normal! Well as normal as you

Flamesparrow · 18/09/2006 15:39

bathroom

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 18/09/2006 16:14

Hi FLYers.
Had a great morning in town.Went by train to get there and bus back! Spent too much money. No shoes in new look im afraid. But i wish someone had warned me they have kids clothes now!! Got cute sparkly shoes for dd1 and dd2(they fell in love with them,dd1 was kissing hers carrying them around the shop)! And a top for me!
Bought some new paint for the dc to use from ELC so dd's are now plastering themselves/everywhere in paint!

Ny room isn't much different to how it was last time.Under the bed is easy!! Its A bed with draws so is basically flat on the floor bar the wheels so no room to put anything under!

JessaJam · 18/09/2006 17:48

Right have wheezed and sneezed my way through Kelly's mission, under bed is now un cluttered - but still filthy [disgust emoticon]. Our bedroom rug (huge rug, more like an unfitte dcarpet iykwim) is made of magic fibre that attracts fluff, hair and dust and then clings onto it for dear life, unless you rub your be-trainered foot over it repeatedly (yuk).

Samnbabes .

Our room also smells somewhat as I am certain a cat has peed in a corner at some point, but despite much washing/spraying. scrubbing etc the smell lingers . Ah..the aroma of feline urine, recognised worldwide as an aphrodisiac...

Trinity...how did the visit go?

BarefootJasnem · 18/09/2006 17:48

Also reassured that the clean look fades for everyone else, too.

Done nothing in bedroom today, but washed and cooked (am cooking and baking much more now I don't have to clean up first) I will try again tomorrow.
