JessaJam I would be exactly the same if i had an under bed area to do! My last bed had a big space under it and got really dusty(guess its from all your dead skin cells coming off when your asleep!!)
I have put some clothes away and now have no baskets of washing to put away! Yay!!

Evening FLYers. I have had a good day with the washing. All done and ironed and put away. A first for me to get the washing done and in there right homes. So I am feeling very good in myself. I was going to post this over an hour ago but DS1 went very moody on me and well I just dont know how to put it in words. Hes fine now.I dunno why he went off on 1. He has never done it before. Bed time soon for DC Ds1 already looks very tired so it might be an early 1 for them tonight.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 18/09/2006 19:38

DontlookatmeImshy · 18/09/2006 19:54

DOn'tneed to worry about under the bed, as it'sjust drawers and they are still sorted from when we moved. Rest of the bedroom is another story though . Did 15minutes this afternoon andmade a slight dent inthe mess so there is hope for me yet

Not done much of the blessing yet. Dh has developed a liking for Sunday newspapers and since I have no self discipline to chuck them out until i have checked all 93726 sections of them to make sure i don't miss any juicy news/gossip/info,it's going to take a while just to do the magazine chuckingpart of the blessing lol

At least the washing got dried.

singersgirl · 18/09/2006 20:00

Washed 2 really dusty pillows I found under the bed. DH is sorting out the kids' videos so we can put some up with the TV in the spare room. Have made our pasta sauce already and only need to heat it up. Boys' clothes out for the morning.

But goodness knows what's going to go in DS1's packed lunch.

hazelnuts · 18/09/2006 20:11

tortoise I have looked on your threads and I think most of the other MNers/FLYers have said all that I would say. You could also not clean from now until the date of the party. There will be loads of dust around by then. lol There is one thing you could do, (as we have to keep up with the FLYing) and thats make a spiders web (canes and black string/rope) and then make up spiders and flies to put on it. I am sneezing at mo as I have been under the bed getting all the bits from under it. Just hope the dust settles before I got to bed.

Hello everybody, I was on this thread a few weeks ago and was getting on quite well with Fly lady, then we went on holiday for week came home and the washing machine had broken down so everything went to pot. Will start again this week. Master bedroom not looking too bad as DH had a bit of a clean up this weekend ( I was at Milton Keynes lusting after Robbie ) , DS is now at school so no more excuses. I might start tomorrow with the weekly home blessing hour. ( never done that before) Whats involved again?

Skribble · 18/09/2006 21:00

Didn't manage todays missions, got another one (wipe down dining room chairs) on my e.mail. Did get DS new pillow as his was stinking and a new duvet as his was a bit heavy weight.

Made dinner at MIL's so not much chance do anything else, managed babystep bit of attacking a hotspot. Had to take in sodden washing and rinse and spin again.

Skribble · 18/09/2006 21:01

Anybody not got a timer yet. ASDA £1.49, clips onto belt or has magnet to stick to fridge. Find them with the utensils and stuff.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 18/09/2006 21:03

Cori the home blessing is
Vacuum
Dust
Mop
Polish Mirrors and Doors
Purge magazines
Change Sheets
Empty all trash

10 mins or less on each.

Skribble · 18/09/2006 21:41

Handy little toolboxes in Lidls today, just the sort of thing flybabies might like.

asleep · 18/09/2006 21:45

after a very busy and hard day, i managed to do a bit of decluttering in the master bedroom. i've got a huge bag of clothes for charity. and another big bag of rubbish. i will try to buy some new pillows and lampshades this week.

squatchette · 18/09/2006 22:18

Evening all if any ones still here, said i'd check in later at about 9.30 this morning so here i am .Not had a too bad day found a postal order i accidently washed about a month ago under bed so the yucky mission earned me 40 quid!
Also found a cheque my grandmother (mama) sent from Spain where she moved after my mum died about 5 yrs ago but it was way too old to cash.Just goes to show though you never know what could be hiding in all our clutter.
Pleased we're in the bedroom this week as i blitzed it last week after reading flylady "cost of a bedroom remodel priceless" thingy. It got me quite inspired even hung some nice nets i bought when we moved in 2 yrs ago and bought a fab new throw for the bed from Primark only £15!Moved some of the furniture around a bit and had a good clean the difference is amazing never mind the fact i did it in the first place.
Have to go to court this week to give evidence against a serial pervert who exposed his bits at me and our 2 yr old one night last winter so feeling a bit scared about that but at least it will be over with soon.
Is there a profile part on this site where i can find out a bit more about everyone posting on here?Be nice to know who's who and if anyone lives in my area .Off 2 wash the dishes now at last i know iknow should've done it after tea but babes were playing up infact one has only just nodded off and youngest is still up

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 18/09/2006 22:44

Wow you have had a good day.
We did all add profiles to a thread.I will find it and link to it.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 18/09/2006 22:46

here .

And now im off to bed.DD1 has pre-school in the morning!
Night FLYers.

tamsino · 19/09/2006 08:19

Morning all. I have a tidy kitchen but thats it. DD has tummy ache and a cough left over from last week so our trip to tumble club is off and we'll be killing each other by lunchtime.

On a +ve note my new Bissell carpet cleaner arrived last night. I'm so excited. I put it together and just have to find the time to use it now....

Have a good day all.

P.S Kelly's mission is to clean out your underwear drawer. Lol.

Chloe55 · 19/09/2006 08:39

Still no fixed washing machine and my car has got a flat tyre so the washing has piled up again as I am relying on friends to take me to do my washing

On a brighter note my dh is a changed man!!! I have rota'd him in on a couple of chores a day and over the past couple of weeks he hasn't once missed one and has even started shining the sink when he comes to bed I told him it was great to have him so supportive this morning and he said that he was happy to do it because the house was a much nicer place to live and that I was looking beautiful

SusiS · 19/09/2006 08:46

morning ladies!
got up at 6am, washing machine is on, both toilets are clean, we are all dressed and washed and fed, and i even made the our beds! - guess that's the new me

master bedroom is not too bad. only empty drawers which i will wipe down later. (once dp gets up)- BUT no excuse anymore for me to ignore the tons of clothes i have to sort through. i am certain i can bin loads now i am on a diet

SusiS · 19/09/2006 08:47

awww chloe that is great!!!!
will try my dp soon but i think he's not ready just yet

SusiS · 19/09/2006 08:48

ehm, your dh i mean - not the broken washing machine and the flat tyre!!

Chloe55 · 19/09/2006 08:55
Grin
SusiS · 19/09/2006 08:57

any tips and hints how to do it chloe??

tamsino · 19/09/2006 08:59

chloe that's so sweet. gold star for dh.

Chloe55 · 19/09/2006 09:10

I don't know how it happened really! He has decided to take charge of our money and has done a spending allowance and spread sheet etc so I thought, hey hold on, if I'm given this miliatary money chart then I'll take charge of the housework. I started by me just doing the FLYing so he could notice how much effort I was making and how much nicer the house was looking. I then sat him down and instead of telling him I wanted him to do this chore and that chore I asked him if he would help me out so that it never got on top of me and I could still be a full-time mum to ds (7mths) - I also explained that when I go back to work in Nov for a few weeks we needed some sort of workable routine. He agreed so I drew up a rota.

His chores consist of the dishwasher (loading and unloading), making the bed, putting the bin and feeding the animals. I do everything else. So, although he doesn't have much to do it makes a huge difference to my life when he does them everyday and especially when he takes them a little bit further and putting out the bin sometimes spreads to cleaning the work surfaces in the kitchen and mopping the floor

I really never knew some odd little lady on the other side of the world would make such a positive impact on our lives. We haven't argued once about the housework or who has a busier day than who since we started.
