A new thread for a new week...

lol. i remember arguing about who had a busier day not long after DD was born. We dont do that any more. My DH is pretty good - he loves to cook and gives DD loads ofd attention which gives me a break. Nice to hear of people getting support though.

what do other partners/friends think of flylady? Or is everyone doing it in secret?

My dh thinks it is a bit batty but the house is tidier so it must be a good thing!

shazronnie · 19/09/2006 09:36

Tamsino - DH thinks flylady is a mad american, but he doesn't care because the house is so much better!

shazronnie · 19/09/2006 09:37

But i haven't told anyone else about her!!

BarefootJasnem · 19/09/2006 09:39

My friends and partner have all noticed the miraculous improvement in the state of my house, but I'm putting it down to me making the effort, rather than FLY lady.(I have told friends about it but won't tell dp - He thinks my mn addiction is bad enough)

I'm going to go and look for my bedroom floor now.

lol chloe, soundslike you are getting your dh well trained.

It does seem to help to get them involved once they've seen some results already. Iamgiving dh hisown baby steps (he doesn't know thats what they arelol) to get himinto his ownroutine/habits.

By the endof the year Iplan to have him running the house while I sitaround all daydrinking tea and eating chocolate.

SusiS · 19/09/2006 09:46

sounds like a plan to me

Skribble · 19/09/2006 09:49

Morning all,

Kelly's mission Clear out knicker drawer, I still have yesterdays to do to.

mummy2ashton · 19/09/2006 10:01

morning everyone. i've falled behind in my flylady stuff,i really need a kick up the bum now the initial enthusiasm for it has gone. anyone else ever feel like this?

Skribble · 19/09/2006 10:07

I am fairly new so still enthusiastic, just things like MIL and kids get in the way. Spent yesterday afternoon and evening at MIL's and today I am taking her for her shopping, so I better go and do my knicker drawer and under bed now. Plus get a second load on I can almost see the bottom of the basket, well one of the baskets .

damewashalot · 19/09/2006 10:15

Doing better today, had done bathroom, downstairs loo, kitchen and made bed not to mention hung washing out and put more on before i logged onto Mnet today

Chloe55 · 19/09/2006 10:25

I mentioned it to a friend who has recently had a baby after she commented that I am Mary Poppins at the moment - Since mentioning it she has been really interested and now she too has started to FLY, she looks really good for it too.

Flamesparrow · 19/09/2006 10:31

So tired. Washing in machine, but not on line. Sink a mess.

damewashalot · 19/09/2006 10:41

big hug for flame
Try and have a rest, you've had a bad night but shine you sink first if it will make you feel better.(it would me but I have gone a little odd of late)
I can't believe it's master bedroom again as that's what it was when I found flylady stuff just isn't much better yet, feel it should be by now, must try harder and yes I know.... babysteps.

SusiS · 19/09/2006 10:43

wow you lot are busy already
dishwasher is ready to lift off
just need to (finally) eat some breakfast, put shoes on kids and we are off to the park

Flame, have a rest today - get back to it tomorrow, you've hardly slept.

asleep · 19/09/2006 11:45

barefootjasmen, that is a lovely bed!

i've done the schoolrun, went to tesco and the local shops. bought two big bouncy pillows for master bedroom. washing in and some hanging outside.

i've noticed i actually really love my house now. i want to look after it. make it look good and have a place for everything.

something that made me smile: DD now rinses the sink after she brushes her teeth. poor love wants to help

ParanoidAndroid · 19/09/2006 11:56

Hello all - rushing about today so not much time. I've managed the usual, plus took everything off the kitchen units then cleaned them and cleaned the front of the kitchen cupboards. Will do knicker drawer later - sorely needed as I think I have some caesarian knickers in there from DD (and she's 7.5 )

hugs for Flame, and come back QP - we miss you!

Off to help at school this afternoon with the art class - should be messy!

shazronnie · 19/09/2006 12:05

I seem to be losing some enthusiasm; i think it is because i am on my 2nd month, so the house is not alarming anymore, just needs maintaining. And maintenance is more boring - you don't see such great results.

Still, my knicker drawer is in need of decluttering so i will do that later!

And i would like a pat on the back - this morning I went on my rowing machine only for 5 minutes but babysteps!

BarefootJasnem · 19/09/2006 12:10

asleep - I can't see a lovely bed?????

shazronnie. I know what you mean. I'm not even into my second month and the novelty of the clean kitchen/lounge has worn off. No one notices any moreand the fact that it is clean doesn't give me enough. I need transformations or lots of positive feedback[pathetic]

OP posts:
singersgirl · 19/09/2006 12:18

Now don't you all go getting lacklustre on me. I am very excited at how tidy my lounge has become. The sock drawer will be quick and easy. I really need to do that other superfling thing with my clothes, but haven't got time today.

tamsino · 19/09/2006 12:28

Jas - your bedroom looks great. I'm impressed you even put the photos up!

Dd still icky so been downstairs all morning and cant do the bedroom. So I've done some washing, cleaned one of the leather chairs, and done the dining room window sills and walls (for fingerprints). All little but i guess they add up.

Know what you mean about needing more +ve vibes/praise/motivation though....

asleep · 19/09/2006 12:34

barefootjasnem, it is, i love those white beds. and it looks great flyed

Flamesparrow · 19/09/2006 12:44

I keep grinning at my lounge... I was going to the shop last night, and it was still covered in toys/dinner... I stood squeaking at DH "lounge... fix... fly... tidy... " - it was sorted by the time I got back

Knicker drawer got sorted last month. Will do dishes in a minute and do 15 mins in bedroom later... if I don't fall asleep!

Great pics Jas... plus bonus baby photo!
