Welcome to the June 2012 Fledgling Flyers thread. Park your mops, buckets and microfibre cloths here!!

A huge "thank you" to Toffee for leading us throughout May!! Hope you have a fabulous holiday in Spain!!

If you're house is a mess and you are strugging with C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome) and S.T.U.F.F. (something that undermines family fun) then this is the thread where we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style) with lots of chat, support and Wine along the way.

We advise not signing up to receive the Flylady e-mails as you will be inundated! All the information you need will be linked here on a daily basis.

From the first of the month, we will be following Flylady's tips on restoring order to our homes, and as we are all at different stages we will be using one of the following methods:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

More info here, here and here

All welcome!!

Jumping in to bookmark!

Hopefully a new month will bring me new motivation. Yeah right!

Cheers for running this sc

sanguinechompa · 31/05/2012 08:36

That was quick Carpe!! Welcome!!

Don't tell anyone but I am hoping that running the thread (ie having to look at Flylady website every day) will actually force me to do some Flying too!!) Well, there's vague hope there anyway Wink

I won't tell! Wink

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 31/05/2012 09:00

I'm in! Back later. Thanks SC

laurenamium · 31/05/2012 09:20

I'm here!! Thanks sc!

BlueEyeshadow · 31/05/2012 09:47

Marking spot.

sanguinechompa · 31/05/2012 09:59

I hear you Blue!! I find myself thinking "I am determined to Fly properly when someone else runs the thread" and er; then I don't ... and then I find myself thinking "I will Fly properly when I run it" er ...well, suffice to say I have another opportunity this month Wink!!

Basic routines + a fair few of baby-steps are OK, it's the decluttering that has fallen by the wayside.

School hols take place in July & August over here so I only have one month left in which to de-junk seriously before dd is home every day/we start travelling/visitors start arriving (aaaghhhh!!)

Thanks for the new thread SC and for all your hard work last month Toffee (I may not have posted much, but I was lurking) - hope you have a fantastic holiday.

takingiteasy · 31/05/2012 11:23

Hello! Total MN/Fly noob here. I've been failing at flying for a while now, dip in and out quite a lot have routines established but fail at the decluttering and zone stuff!

PositiveAttitude · 31/05/2012 12:48

Thanks SC and thank you toffee for last month.

Marking my spot here. Not really following the fly routine as such, although the routines are now ingrained in every day life after too many years on here.

This month is my last month of work, I finish on the 30th, so it is very exciting to be signing in here and realising how quickly this is all flying past me. I will have one frenzied month ahead now, but hopefully will pop in here for some sanity. Hmm Grin

sanguinechompa · 31/05/2012 12:58

Sanity? Here? Confused Confused Confused Grin I didn't take you for a day-time drinker PA Grin

A warm welcome to takingiteasy Same here!! Routines are OK but I never seem to be able to declutter in small 15 min bursts (which is the whole point of Flylady) and know I have to because I very rarely get full days any more - so will be with you in spirit this month!!

Yay Linzer Good to see you!! Hope you are surviving end-of-term fetes, shows, exams etc etc. Can you believe it is nearly the end of the school year (for us continentals anyway)?? It went so fast!!!

I know, SC - just over four weeks and counting here (actually a bit less thanks to various bank holidays). I think this is the first year I've actually looked forward to the nine weeks of summer holidays as it gives me a break from teaching. Grin Hope you're not finding all the end-of-term events too stressful; I must admit I breathed a sigh of relief after DD1 had sat her last (ever at primary school) exam.

laurenamium · 31/05/2012 14:11

Yes thank you toffee Flowers and Wine

alibalibees · 31/05/2012 14:56

I must try to stick to this now as I'm sooo fed up with my house.

ToffeeWhirl · 31/05/2012 16:10

Just marking my place for when I come back. Not planning to do any Flying for the next week (apart from the real sort Wink)!

Thanks, Lauren Smile

BitchyInTheCorner · 31/05/2012 17:04

Right This month I am refusing to install the naughty corner bar. It seems to be causing too much distraction. Therefore it goes. We still have the cushions and the sunroom though.

Thanks for toffee for last' months thread running.

Can I join please? I don't really have a clue what any of you are on about but my house is a disaster zone and I need someone to tell me what to do!

After 2 weeks of having builders and workmen trampling through the house the kitchen will finally be finished tomorrow Grin so seems a good day to start.
Offers round microwave meals to all.
