Just read up ^ thread but haven't yet looked at the links. I have the Father Ted box set. I got it for Christmas along with Lee Evans and Norman Wisdom.Smile I Love "A Christmassy Ted". That episode is great!

carrotsandcelery · 25/01/2012 20:46

Scout I don't think there is anything to feel stupid about. How on earth are you supposed to know Scottish dialect?? Shock

You do learn something every day though [bgrin]

Can I just point out that although I am smiling I am not wearing a little tartan hat nor do I have ginger hair cut in a raggy mop fashion [honest]

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 25/01/2012 20:47

BlackCat that is what you need to put on while you fly. A bit of Father Ted can't fail to make you feel a bit Smile

Well, I've lived in the UK for 6 1/2 years so should probably have known, carrots. I've only been to Scotland once, though, and that was for my honeymoon (again, 6 1/2 years ago when I moved here).

I can't believe this bride on Don't Tell The Bride. Shock

Have just done a bit more flinging. Shock I so want to get rid of the boxes of donations but do want to give them to my Guide unit rather than the charity shop/s in town so need to sit on them for another 4-5 weeks. There's no where else to put them, though.

No word yet from MrScout on his new ETA.....

Scout19075 · 25/01/2012 21:04

Just heard from MrScout -- he's just leaving now which means he won't be home until after 11. Sad It's such a long day for him.

carrotsandcelery · 25/01/2012 21:15

I am a born and bred Scot Scout and I learn new Scots words every week. It is different in every area too.

Poor Mr Scout. Dh does late nights often and it is horrid.

I am out of ideas for the donations Scout. I have no idea where you could put them.

Scout19075 · 25/01/2012 21:47

It's just the boxes are too bulky to go in our loft (tiny hatch that you have to climb a real ladder up, not a pull-down). I think I might have to bite the bullet and just take some of it to the charity shop. The longer it sits around the longer it collects stuff on top or has the chance to catch MrScout's eye.

I feel so good about my accomplishments! Still a shedload to do but I feel so good.

If it weren't for the commute MrScout's day wouldn't be nearly so long. I really want to go to bed but if I do I won't have seen him at all today. Sad

BlackCatTryingToFly · 25/01/2012 21:49

Don't know if anyone still around.
Hope DS settles alright carrots.
Hope everyone else is o.k. I'm off to bed soon.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 25/01/2012 21:53

X posts Scout Glad you feel like you are getting somewhere.
Hope MrScout is o.k. I know what you mean about getting to see your DH.
Mine is here now but we don't get much time alone together during the week as he needs to go bed early, He is up at 4.00am every week day.

carrotsandcelery · 25/01/2012 21:57

another little gem for those who need a wee giggle

Thanks for the good wishes BlackCat. So far so good but it is usually later on that he starts!

Scout19075 · 25/01/2012 22:33

Is it still quiet, carrots?

Ugh, 4 a.m. Black?! I thought MrScout's leaving around 6-ish was bad (though he has been known to leave at 5 sometimes). Blurgh.

Think I'm going to go ahead and take stuff to charity shops. There will be plenty for my unit's jumble sale. I think the shops may love me.

carrotsandcelery · 25/01/2012 22:55

4am does sound pretty tough going. My sil gets up at 5am and I thought that was bad.

Scout it will be very satisfying to get your stuff out of the house. A charity shop may make more money from it than the jumble sale too so there is still excellent karma in it. Grin

I am trying to make myself go to bed but just know the minute I do ds will kick off. I am really impressed by the psychologist today though. She would have chatted to me for hours if I had been able to chat to her.

MrScout's finally home. I'm not sure why I'm still awake, though.

I have somehow managed "Ta Da" some of my Thursday's To Do list. Hmm

[bsmile][bgrin][bwink][bshock][bhmm][bconfused][bblush][bangry][bsad][benvy][bbiscuit]

Sorry couldn't resist [bgrin]

We're not scottish but we do haggis, neeps and tatties quite often cos its yummy. We'll be doing it tomorrow though as tonight wasn't possible.

Tonight's bedtime has been scuppered by dh and red wine [hic] and then finding re-runs of the Young Ones on Gold channel.

Oh well off to bed. Ds1 wanted nappies but ds2 wanted pants tonight so just off to take him to the toilet to try and get him through the night without producing any extra washing for me.

Hope you all have a goodnight. Wine

liveinazoo · 26/01/2012 05:35

bessie26 · 26/01/2012 07:10

Morning! I was just thinking that I was behind on my flying & planning what I was going to do when today...

Babystep 26 - read the last line of any fly lady email.

For those of you who don't subscribe, it is

You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?

carrotsandcelery · 26/01/2012 09:47

Morning everyone! That is actually a very good line bessie. Just start from here Grin

Scout well done last night.

zoo do you think that is the night lights? Ds actually put his lamp off himself last night [shock[ Yay!. He has a mulit coloured light changing mood light and he was happy just with that and he slept til 6.30. Shock and Yay! again. He did get up at 2.30am but that was because we had a power cut and he had no idea what the time was because his clock went off, so I have let him off with that one. [soft emoticon]

Zoo we didn't manage all our flying last night and I am regretting it now. I have a lot of dishwasher work to do - I feel more up for flying when I start with a clean sink. But I will jump in where I am.

My ta da list:
washed and dressed
dcs breakfasted
ds lunch and snacks made
dcs to school
top up shop for cake baking
attempt to post ebay parcel but post office struggling after power cut
my bed made
ensuite swished and main bathroom rescued
played with dog Grin

Ha ha! It looks quite a lot when I write it down.

today's mission is here for those who want to have a go We have a hot spot of clean, folded sheets on our chest of drawers which needs a home. I have no idea where to put them. Hmm I think I had planned to put them in a box under the bed.

I am riding today so should get cracking. Where is that pointy stick?

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 26/01/2012 10:19

Ta Da:
dw loaded
wm loaded and on
dry washing folded and put away
work tops "in soak"
tonight's tea is left over haggis Grin

Place is still a mess though Blush

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 26/01/2012 10:29

liveinazoo · 26/01/2012 10:55

carrots long may this sleep thingy reign Grin

liveinazoo · 26/01/2012 10:56

BlackCatTryingToFly · 26/01/2012 11:04

zoo I NEED a blackboard saying that too! Pointy stick required here.

How about we report back at 11.25ish and say if we manged anything?
(If you haven't already gone Hmm)

liveinazoo · 26/01/2012 11:14

im still lurking on mn blackcat Blush
i will now jab extra hard with the pointy stick and attack the kitchen.be back at 12.
ready,steady.GO!

BlackCatTryingToFly · 26/01/2012 11:28

I have just done:
1x drying up
1x washing up
and one Brew made.

I like this game! Grin

Next I need to go and pick up DD from nursery then it will be lunch time but I don't think I will need much food cause I had soup earlier.

I still feel Sad today but I am determined to not let the blue feeling win and
will battle on as best I can.

Will try and check back in between 12 and 1.00pm.

bessie26 · 26/01/2012 11:33

I've

  • put a load of washing on
  • put dishwasher on
  • emptied all bins & sorted recycling (bin day tomorrow)
  • cleaned the kitchen bin cupboard (this is SO easy now I do it every week)
  • swished & swiped
  • 2 min hotspot (decluttered worktops in kitchen)
  • 5 min room rescue (living room)
  • wiped down worktops in kitchen
  • cleaned the loo, potty & seat upstairs (I give them all a good clean every week as part of my house blessing)
  • prepped lunch

I need to add "what are we eating tomorrow" to my evening list, I needed to put some beans in soak last night for lunch today but forgot. Luckily we had a tin in the cupboard I could use.

to do

  • make, eat & clear up from lunch
  • clean the downstairs loo, potty & seat
  • make large vat of soup for tea & freezer
  • get DD2s bum out in the air as she's a bit red Sad (teething)
  • mop the kitchen floor
