Feeling a bit like a failure today! I struggle with the every day stuff like keeping up with washing up, and laundry. Not brilliant at cooking either!Sad

I have been trying to do the baby steps for FlyLady but not sure It's working for me although some days I do the timer thing and that helps.
I have a toddler and an older dc, Not blaming them for the mess, I just find it all hard some days.

So here is today's list:
Shower/Get dressed
Load washing machine/Hang out washing
Do food shopping list
Go food shopping
DS to a party this afternoon
Wash up
and general tidy round
This evening try and watch tele!Grin

BoffinMum · 01/10/2011 08:57

Hang up the sheets that have been in the dryer since this time yesterday.
Eat breakfast.
Take DC2 to choir.
Have flu jab.
Somewhere, somehow acquire food, possibly at the market near where we are going to have the flu jabs.
Possibly catch up with ironing now I have a new steam generator iron that doesn't leak.

BoffinMum · 01/10/2011 08:58

Sorry, sheets in WM. Not dryer - that would defeat object!

AutumnHues · 01/10/2011 09:15

Welcome BoffinMum,
I need to stop procrastinating on here but am going to have another cup of tea(ran out of CoffeeSad) first.Grin

Morning all.

Am having some friends round for a bbq this afternoon, couldn't resist making the most of the sun. So will be a bit busy this morning:

Wash up, tidy and clean kitchen
Clean bathroom
Sort out fridge and make space for burgers
Hoover

Check garden for fox poo
Cut grass if time
Clean bbq
Get paddling pool and other toys out

DH and DD1 are going to the shops so that will make things easier to get things done while they're out.

BoffinMum · 01/10/2011 09:45

Off to feed everyone now - have to leave for choir in 15 minutes! AGH!

notso · 01/10/2011 10:11

All three DC have gone out for the day with BIL and his wife (does that make her SIL? I am never sure). DH is working this morning and though it is tempting to crawl back into bed I am up and dressed so might as well make a start.
Heres my optimistic list;
wash uniforms and hang out to dry, whites are already on,
mop kitchen floor, rolled over from weeks agoyesterday,
sweep front path,
take bedside tables upstairs,
put clean clothes away,
pack DS2's too small clothes and baby swing away for DC3,
wash pots and load dishwasher,
wipe down kitchen,
take chilli out of the freezer for tea,
clean upstairs bathroom,
sort out camera for my Mum to take on holiday,
make a shopping list,
hoover and dust front room, dining room, hall, stairs and landings.

Wish me luck! Have a lovely day all.

AutumnHues · 02/10/2011 11:28

That's alright Shinyshoes, I'm not in any rush to get going on it but I'm going to see if I can clean my sink today. it might take me a while just to get the hang of that.(or to fit it in). If I don't manage within the next week then I'll give up on the idea.

OP posts:
Shinyshoes1 · 02/10/2011 12:26

generally though how is it going? Is it better if you write it all down , then you feel you have to do it? Is it better for you this way? are you getting more done more positively?

I find if I write down the list of things to do for the day I feel like I have to do it otherwise I feel i've let myself down . It works for me doing it this way

jenni75 · 02/10/2011 13:17

Hi, can I join? 3DC and a huge pile of washing, ironing and housework to do, never stop but it looks like I do nothing :)

Fatshionista · 02/10/2011 13:24

Can someone give me motivation to:

  1. Scrub the pots and pans.
  2. Wash DD's and my bedding.
  3. Put away DD's clothes.
  4. Hoover the stairs, landing and bedrooms.

Please?
If it helps I'm currently solely in charge of DD1 (3), DSS (2) and DD2 (10 months).

AutumnHues · 02/10/2011 13:57

Hi jenni75 and Fatshionista, yes you can join.Smile

I only have 2 dc so I would imagine it is harder with 3 especially if they are young!

When mine were babies I found it really hard to fit in housework cause they want and need so much of your time. so I understand if you are struggling.

My youngest is 2 years(nearly 3) so she is a bit happier now to play on her own sometimes (although I am never far from her).

I am almost getting to grips with the washing up (keeping it up to date)
I am finding if I do it a little at a time and try and have a break in between I get it done.Wink
The washing, I am trying to put one load on a day.

OP posts:
AutumnHues · 02/10/2011 14:03

Shineyshoes1 Yes, I write it on a notebook and cross it off as I do it. I think this helps cause if you get it done you can see on your list what you have done.
I am feeling more positive than I was when I started this thread.
Thanks everyone for the support!Grin
