Feeling a bit like a failure today! I struggle with the every day stuff like keeping up with washing up, and laundry. Not brilliant at cooking either!Sad

I have been trying to do the baby steps for FlyLady but not sure It's working for me although some days I do the timer thing and that helps.
I have a toddler and an older dc, Not blaming them for the mess, I just find it all hard some days.

Feeling a little more positive this morning Smile.
I am hoping to:
Breakfast for all
Get dressed
Feed cat
Wash up / dry up
hang washing out
If I get that all done I might be back to post some more jobs.

Good luck for today.

I am feeling rubbish at the moment.
Dc's are all dressed apart from the 3 year old who I have just found covering herself in pink lipbalm Hmm so I will have to bath her again - third time in 24 hours now.
I need to get some washing on (school uniforms) and then get myself ready as we are going to the in laws for lunch.

At least I won't have to cook today as MIL will produce a large, delicious, home cooked meal with delicious desert and lots of cups of tea too. Grin

mirpuppet · 25/09/2011 10:05

I will join as well. I started with FlyLady baby steps about 10 days ago and its actually going K. I don't follow all the baby steps but I have been leaving kitchen tidy before I go to bed and doing laundry consistently. The most satisfying has been decluttering so I have less stuff to maintain.

For list :

dw already on
laundry first load in probably two more today
spend some quality family time
cook sunday roast dinner

Will leave big tasks for Monday.

AutumnHues · 25/09/2011 10:22

Hello all,
I have done:
Breakfast
get dressed
fed cat
hanged out washing
done some washing up and drying up
(Still more washing up to do)
I was trying to do FlyLady baby steps too (on another thread).
You might see my name pop up on there now and again as I like all the people, I just felt I couldn't get all the babysteps done. I still need to declutter. and sometimes I struggle to keep up with washing up (Hence this thread). I might use things I learned from Fly Lady.

AutumnHues · 25/09/2011 21:27

Hi Shineyshoes I don't like ironing but I might have to make myself do some cause some of the clothes have got a bit creased.
How many dc do you have?
I have two, one is nearly 8yrs and one two year old.

Ironing and making beds, you lot are mad

AutumnHues · 25/09/2011 21:51

Shineyshoes Have you tried using a timer for doing the Ironing. You could set it for 15 minutes do some then have a rest for say 5 or 10 minutes then Iron again for 15 minutes. It would break it up a bit cause it can get a bit boring can't it. Just a tip I picked up from when I was trying FLY Lady.Smile

whyme2 · 25/09/2011 21:53

lie on the sofa for two hours,
collect all four dc from school,
make dinner/read books/sign forms/shout a bit/put dcs to bed,
tidy kitchen and wash up,
collapse relax before bed.

Hi all
Think I might join you, keeping on top of housework is definitely not my strong point but I have been trying really hard recently.

Had a good day today, living room is tidy, washing done, bathroom pretty clean, kitchen tidy and clean just a small amount of washing up left.

List for tomorrow:
Put away clean washing
Washing up
Some ironing
Cook
Tidy and clean kitchen

Will add more if I get that lot done.

1morestepalongtheworldigo · 26/09/2011 08:42

I'm rubbish too!! DS is at nursery 3 days but I always end up watching peppa pig with DD or studying then having a frantic half hour tidying before DP gets in and moans!! Today though i shall be sorting the toyboxes and airing cupboard unless something exciting happens in pigville and I need to find out if george finds mr dinosaur....

Shinyshoes1 · 26/09/2011 09:08

morning ladies

Will try the timer thing today when i'm ironing Wink

I'm still in bed , but aim to get up in the next 15 minutes have a cuppa and crack on

AutumnHues · 26/09/2011 09:26

Morning all, I am feeling tired this morning, I think I have a bit of a cold and dd didn't sleep all night.
So far have done:
breakfast, get dressed, get dc up and ready, ds to school.

Am now sat having a brew while I try and get myself more awake.

Welcome all new peopleSmile.

Shineyshoes just thought, when you stop for a break in between ironing you had better turn your iron off, don't want you to have some kind of incident!
(Sorry if you had already thought of that)

Shinyshoes1 · 26/09/2011 14:06

You're all doing very well ( see Autumn with a bit of support and encouragement you get so much more done Wink )

I have left a few peices of ironing for tomorrow only have kitchen and toilet floor to mop and that's all for the day I think

Pootles2010 · 26/09/2011 14:19

May I join late?

I'm a bit hopeless I'm afraid - done nothing this morning, hate knowing that I'm coming home to a messy house (at work atm).

Shinyshoes1 · 26/09/2011 14:56

welcome Pootles2010, the more the merrier, this is the 'go slow /needs motivation camp' Wink

AutumnHues · 26/09/2011 16:45

Welcome Pootles2010
I agree with Shinyshoes1 about the go slow/needs motivation camp!Grin
I am feeling very tired now due too lack of sleep a cold and I also have anaemia
so the only thing I can do at the moment is a little at a time. The only job I intend on doing now is getting dinner for us all.
By the way does anyone mind me putting their name in bold type? it's just what we all did on the baby steps thread.

OP posts:
Shinyshoes1 · 26/09/2011 17:20

no I dont mind at all go ahead Smile

pozzled · 26/09/2011 18:19

Grrr, haven't got much done yet.

So far: New load of washing done, needs to be hung out.
Washing up done, kitchen tidied.
Bit of ironing done.

But I did buy all the birthday cards I need from now till Christmas (unless I've forgotten someone) and have bought and hidden a few Christmas presents- trying to be organised this year!

Very impressed with Shineyshoes and 1morestep
