LOL Wasting - FIl has told DH if we have a boy we have to go with J Hmm
And yey for you moving back 'home' - a different house I assume?

Plum - will get photos up today if i can, everything taking longer than it should...!

Ali - not sure how i will manage with 3 tbh, DH still here and we still have the Nanny some days - will have to rearrange her hours at some point as DS2 now at his proper school 4 mornings a week and it's too extravagant having her here with just me & DD.

Right, need to start getting back into the swing of things before house descends into complete chaos, clothes being the main issue, they're everywhere & all different sizes for everyone.

Well good intentions...friend came, MW came, shopping came, DS1 fell over at sch, DH off to A&E with him.
No list!

Ongoing:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
  • order blind for kitchen side door
  • curtains for playroom; gather & tie strings - 2 of 4 done; stitch pairs together; hang
  • hookbacks up in playroom & our room (handyman, once curtains arrive)
  • mark damp stain on kitchen ceiling to see if it's growing!
  • pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
  • see if any toys can go/be put away
  • watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started
  • party invites; deliver non-sch friends over holidays; Track responses; 6 yes/1 no Doing
  • clean oven; Bought Oven Pride
  • book some online shops for post-baby (can't book far enough in advance yet)
  • a bottle of wine & a thank-you card for PW (she stops coming soon)
  • try and work out plumbing attachment for water hose for f/f
PlumBumMum · 27/04/2011 17:16

eek JKS, hope ds1 is alright

Ali its always best just us crying, 10 times worse if he was crying too

Angeldog you must have needed it

I have painted any fencing out the front of the house will leave other bits for another day,
dh is going out to work for an hour and is going to bring back chips, I KNOW I said I need to lose weight but..........

dd1 rang and shes having a ball gggrrrrrrrr, I shall resist the urge to say I told you so when she comes home

so trying to decide weither
to finish my book
or
sort the massive pile of underwear sitting above tumble drier

JustKeepSwimming · 27/04/2011 17:45

SupersonicDave · 27/04/2011 19:59

Read your book Plum [csmile]

JKS after having DS, i knew that i hadn't got a hope in hell of getting the washing done, dried, folded and put away, so i made sure everyone had a basket, and the washing was folded as it came out of the tumble, then put into the right basket. It meant that i wasn't rummaging around in the middle of the night for a clean shirt for me (having leaked milk or been puked on) or looking in the wrong place for DS's vest iyswim? I did it for the first 6wks or so and it helped.

I have a real feeling of doom

PlumBumMum · 27/04/2011 21:07

Finished book and I must say I loved it, so if you haven't read The Help, and looking for a good book I recommend it, I actually laughed out loud last night dh was intrigued, I'm actually sorry its finished although it does say "not the end" at the end so I'm hoping for another instalment

right dcs are home just getting them to bed and then I'm going to start on sorting the underwear.

Dave doom???????

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 27/04/2011 22:15

Fairly successful day :)

DH is really struggling to transition from work to home atm. He's much, much busier than he was when we had DS1, more senior and generally more stressed out. He is finding it difficult to go into domestic mode, I can see in his face that he just wants to bugger off upstairs and leave me to it. Just to add to the mix he has lined up a job interview for 9am tomorrow in London, so needs to leave at some ungodly hour and has therefore informed me that he'll be in the spare room tonight and leaving me to it. Great.

Grin

Yes Dave - doom? About what??

JKS - I've got the clothing sorted now but we were in a similar mess for a few days. Didn't help that I had to dig out all the 0-3 stuff to replace the newborn things that DS2 wouldn't fit in after day 5, suspect you are having the same problem as they were about the same size at birth?

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 28/04/2011 07:15

Dave - fab idea, will start today :)

Plum - remind me in a few weeks about that book, when hopefully life will settle down enough to read....Hmm

Ali - good luck to DH, but sounding tough on you right now.

DS1 has broken his leg :(
Spent last night in hosp with DH - so first night with DD on my own, with DS2, was fine though. Have done 2 before, it's doing 3 on my own that freaks me out!
So his first day back at sch, now looks like 6 weeks in plaster. His classroom is upstairs, so unless someone is prepared to carry him up and down? it looks like 6 weeks off school. This for a boy who doesn't flow over with love for the place is distinctly unhelpful i think.

I swing between shrugging & 'kids, eh?' to crying, hormones not helping.

Have loads to do today and not sure what to do first, headless chicken springs to mind. They might have to stay in another night, if so i want to see them, but not sure DD will be allowed in, can't leave her for long...

Right some kind of list, for the next few days:

  • need more asthma meds for DS2 urgent
  • cancel registrar appt urgent
  • sort DS1's clothes
  • sort DS2's clothes
  • sort DD's clothes
  • start packing up mat clothes that are too big now (not all sadly)
  • deflate birth ball & put away
  • pack up other maternity stuff (support belt, etc)
  • give out/post last invites for DS1 party;; reassess party plans Hmm
  • check birthdays coming up (cards & presents)
  • nursery party (Thurs 3.30) cancel
  • watch wedding (Fri am)
  • street party (Fri 5pm)
  • add more tomorrow...

Ongoing:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too

Morning!

JKS, Sad poor DS1! Don't sack the nanny just yet then either. Hope he can come home today.
Actually, it is the same house we're moving to. Grin She's gone though, so it's fine.

Ali, glad he was happy at pre-school. I'm terrified and DS isn't going til September (if we get a place now!) He's asking to go all the time though, but I'm not sure what it is he thinks will happen there. Grin

Plum, what did you think of 24 season 8? Bit bonkers?

Everything alright Dave?

Angeldog, just write 'nap' on the list and then everything's fine. Smile

So, landlord rang yesterday late afternoon and he's already got someone interested in this house, and they want to see it today. [cconfused]

It's not awful in the house atm, but it's not amazing, but I've got most of the day.

  • fold dry washing done
  • breakfast doing
  • kitchen 15 mins
  • take all jumble upstairs
  • bag up loose jumble and get it in cupboard
  • sort and put away clean washing pile

Ahh JKS poor you & ds1, if its any comfort when ds was 5 days old I spent the whole day in A&E with dd1 (and ds), and was then told to keep her off her feet for a few weeks (this was when she was diagnosed with arthritis) it wasn't too bad (hopes memory serves me right)

Wasting have you finished it? Season 8 I think I watched out of loyality and hope it would get better

Ahem

Have tackled the ironing pile this morning, only 1/3 left to do...

Yikes for ds' leg JKS. Hope it's not too painful

AnonymousBird · 28/04/2011 13:10

OH 24, I have watched the lot. Utterly crazy, but completely addictive.

Love it!

Quick check in. Less than 2 hours to ETD so hopefully I've nearly done enough! Hate coming home to a messy house after a holiday, so want to leave the place in reasonable order and NOT with a full laundry bin/mouldy food in the fridge! Also a quick hoover round required methinks, spot of lunch and DH to reappear Hmm SOON I hope from his turf laying......

Only going for four days - the pile of stuff we are taking is RIDICULOUS. And I don't even have babies that require endless bits and bobs. When, oh when, will we ever travel light?!?!?!?!?!?!?
