Lost passport, HELP!!

I have read so many threads on here about lost passports, but I’m just at a loss as to what to do.
I’m due to go on our belated honeymoon to Thailand on Thursday, but cannot find my passport.

I have spent the whole of yesterday and today looking, even got my parents round to help as a fresh pair of eyes.
I have looked EVERYWHERE, every bag, coat, drawer (drawers pulled all the way out and the underneaths etc checked) in every single cupboard and drawer, under the microwave, washing machine etc.

I last had it about a month ago as we went to Venice for 2 nights, took a 15 minute taxi from the airport to home, have called the airport and taxi and nothing has been handed in. All I can think is that I must have thrown it out!!

I need a 7 day fast track appointment (will of course miss my flight, but some honeymoon is better than none), but worried about the strikes happening from tomorrow.

Has anyone got any recent experience of going to the passport office for an immediate passport?

I’m sick to my stomach 😩

Has it fallen down bed frame eg was on duvet cover and that was moved and knocked it down side or foot of bed?

Amongst towels or clothes pile being put away / perhaps clothes you got out for trip

In laundry basket

My husband keeps all passports in a travel wallet - is it in there

Underneath printer , paper stack or mouse may in your office area

Good luck 🤞

Last time I lost mine, it was ok the front windowsill near the door, as I'd needed it for deliveroo!

SmugglersHaunt · 02/04/2023 23:27

I often lose things that fall out of the back of a drawer and down the back of the unit

msbevvy · 02/04/2023 23:27

Did you have any deliveries recently where you were asked for photo i.d. ?

FinallyHere · 02/04/2023 23:30

How about booking an appointment for the on day replacement service ?

Goodbb B luck

FixitJesus · 02/04/2023 23:51

You can't get a same day appointment if it's lost.

I lost my passport last month and had to do a one week fast track, as the one day option wasn't available.

Stopsnowing · 02/04/2023 23:56

I mislaid mine by putting it on top of books in a bookcase while I answered the door.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 03/04/2023 00:17

Did you take it to the post office/royal mall depot to collect anything? Or to buy an international driving permit?

Check every coat pocket, especially the type of winter down ski jacket with a million "handy" pockets.

HerNameIsIncontinentiaButtocks · 03/04/2023 01:04

The only time I've lost mine in a similar manner, I'd got it out to book flights one morning then put it in my winter dressing gown pocket to take it back to the bedroom. But actually I'd forgotten and left the gown on the back of the bedroom door - which was fully open, hiding the gown, and the weather had got warmer so I'd not used the heavier winter dressing gown since. Took a day and half to find.

tiredpuppymum · 03/04/2023 01:23

When I lost mine I found it behind and slightly underneath my bedside table.

TrainersAltonTowersWontKill · 03/04/2023 07:02

It's in a pile of letters or on a bookcase

I have experience of getting a same day passport: secure fast track appointment online, pay the fee, go to appointment with all the paperwork. Then go back at the allotted time (same day) to collect. My collection time was 5 hours after the appointment. Good luck!

Same day service isn't available for a lost passport 🙄

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I’m afraid I’ve tried them all 😕
was sure it was in a drawer and all your suggestions about it falling behind/being stuck in a drawer gave me hope, but I’ve taken every drawer in the house to pieces and turned it upside down/checked it thoroughly.

we went through room by room yesterday, looking through every single piece of everything, lifting the mattress, moving the bed from one side of the room to the other etc, and nothing. I swear I have looked everywhere 😩

we don’t have printer so isn’t there, I also work from home so can’t have taken it into the office, and I’m certain I haven’t needed it for ID at the post office etc and haven’t applied for anything new/new job. Even so, weve all checked my car so thoroughly and have gone through every single bag in the house, including carrier bags etc. I honestly have looked through everything.

Lit a candle and prayed to Saint Anthony too!

safe to say I won’t be heading off on honeymoon Thursday 🙁

thank you all for your help x

There was a thread last year on MN where eventually the passport was found attached to the inside top of the cabinet. So the passport had been at the top in the top drawer, the drawer was pulled out but the passport had become attached to something in the 'ceiling' of the cabinet and so wasn't visible. So I just wanted to check that you had taken all the drawers out and turned the unit upside down to look at it thoroughly.

You mentioned you thought you'd taken it out to try out a document wallet, what did you do with the document wallet after that?

DiscoBeat · 03/04/2023 07:56

Go through all your other paperwork, in case it's somehow got in with your gas bills or something

DiscoBeat · 03/04/2023 07:58

Did you put any boxes of paperwork or anything into the loft recently?

RideACockHorseToSunburyCross · 03/04/2023 07:59

Do it all again. Starting with the place you think it is. It's there.

Theimpossiblegirl · 03/04/2023 07:59

Have you verified someone else's passport recently? Could they have picked it up?

EstherUrsula · 03/04/2023 08:01

No chance OP

i am so sorry

EstherUrsula · 03/04/2023 08:01

Will be a good test of the temperament of your new husband though

Leftoverssandwich · 03/04/2023 08:01

We found ours (after we had the new one obviously) down the back of a radiator as it had fallen off a wide window sill. Worth checking?

EstherUrsula · 03/04/2023 08:05

bcalice · 02/04/2023 20:34

Oh amazing!! Was this for a lost passport? Or was it renewal? As I’ve been told by the passport office the quickest one I’ll be able to do is the 7 day fast track as it’s lost! 😩

Could it be with all your wedding bits?

Yes I saw this post, have literally taken my drawers apart and checked all in, definitely not there.

have also checked behind each radiator in the house!

the document wallet is exactly where I thought it was - empty, have also looked EVERYWHERE around it!

my sister in law is coming round today to help me look another time with a fresh pair of eyes

In the car? Because you might have put it in your pocket after testing wallet folder and then found it in your pocket in the car and thought "oh good job I realised this was in my pocket I might have lost it" and stashed it in there?????
