Lost passport, HELP!!

I have read so many threads on here about lost passports, but I’m just at a loss as to what to do.
I’m due to go on our belated honeymoon to Thailand on Thursday, but cannot find my passport.

I have spent the whole of yesterday and today looking, even got my parents round to help as a fresh pair of eyes.
I have looked EVERYWHERE, every bag, coat, drawer (drawers pulled all the way out and the underneaths etc checked) in every single cupboard and drawer, under the microwave, washing machine etc.

I last had it about a month ago as we went to Venice for 2 nights, took a 15 minute taxi from the airport to home, have called the airport and taxi and nothing has been handed in. All I can think is that I must have thrown it out!!

I need a 7 day fast track appointment (will of course miss my flight, but some honeymoon is better than none), but worried about the strikes happening from tomorrow.

Has anyone got any recent experience of going to the passport office for an immediate passport?

I’m sick to my stomach 😩

Went to Belfast yesterday, as I’d said in previous posts, spoke to 5 different people at the passport office phone line and all said 7 days guaranteed and bank holidays won’t affect it.

Turned up to my appointment yesterday to be told that the bank holidays will affect it, and only guaranteed to arrive by next Saturday now (fly on Thursday).
Spoke with someone on the phone line again after the appointment to see if I could pick up the passport from its ‘central printing location’ instead of it being delivered and she said no, as it’s a breach. Spoke with TNT who deliver the passports and they said they would allow me to pick up from the depot once it arrives to speed things up.

Received a call back from the passport office at about 11:30am yesterday saying that two independent examiners need to assess the application and one already had and the application was going through at ‘lighting speed’ she said I shouldn’t worry, I said do you think it’ll arrive by Wednesday and she said yes.

so now it’s just a waiting game, and I hope and pray my passport is in hand by Wednesday. If not, husband will have to fly out without me and me pay to move my flight again a few days later 😩

OMG the nightmare continues. I've got everything crossed the passport arrives by Wednesday.

Nightmare - although I should advise that I just sorted out my sons passport renewal and it was ordered online on the 28th March and arrived yesterday.

Just as an aside: when you get your new passport, complete the "in an emergency, contact.... section.

That way, if you lose it again Wink, you have a chance of it getting back to you. Grin

That's what I was told by Glasgow Airport years ago when I lost my passport I think in the back seat pocket of an internal EasyJet flight: that their or the police's first port of call would be the emergency contacts, if not it just gets destroyed.

Just had my sons back after photo approved ( finally my fault) it was back within two days of a text saying it was being printed

Just rang the passport office, passport application has been approved and sent for printing! They said the printing shouldn't be affected by the bank holidays.

Now all I have to do is call TNT Tuesday (as they aren't open at all over the bank holiday) and see if I can pick it up at the depot to make it as quick as possible for me! Still nervous, but feeling slightly better.

I'm holding my thumbs for you, @bcalice that you get hold of the new passport in time. Been on the edge of my seat following your posts.

I have been known to get separated from my passport just exactly when it is least convenient

If you do decide to go and collect it, just to cover all eventualities, id encourage you to make sure that there is someone at home to receive the passport, just incase the special arrangements go awry and they end up delivering to you while you are trying to collect. Good luck

i got a quite frightening letter on the back of the 2nd passport I 'lost' even though it was over 10 years since I 'lost' the first one.

It detailed loads of constraints they could put on me if I lost another one including only issuing 6 month passports. No idea how that would work!

Just picked up my passport from the TNT depot!

I’M GOING TO THAILAND WOOO 😍

Thank you all for your help in trying to help me find my passport, if it ever turns up I will let you know, but I hope it doesn’t!!
