As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Is everyone sorted now?

Operagirl1 · 19/05/2026 07:31

My dd is on the waitlist for Classical and Contemporary at Central. It just said they would be in touch right away if a place opened up for her. Not sure if we should have written back to express interest but it was back in April so a month has passed now.

Truetoself · 19/05/2026 09:33

It’s worth following up, no @Operagirl1?

still waiting here after 3rd round rcs for ba acting

Rose345677 · 21/05/2026 21:28

hello! an offer came through today for the mountview certhe in London. My DD loved the people in her audition and was wondering if anyone from her final round last saturday got through, but can't remember names! She was orangey terracotta shirt with fringe and long brown pants.

Operagirl1 · 29/05/2026 09:01

Anyone still out there waiting?

My dd got an offer for london all the way in january but we don’t know anyone else who’s going! We’re all very detached from this world as dd goes to a very academic school. Have they sent you any extra information? We completed the student enrolment on the application portal over a month ago but haven’t heard anything

Truetoself · 29/05/2026 19:30

@Operagirl1what did your DD decide in the end?

Operagirl1 · 29/05/2026 19:53

shes on the waitlist for Central and she’s got professional work lined up too. She doesn’t want to pull out of the work too late and leave the company in the lurch but at this stage would like to do the BA. She’ll definitely do the work if Central doesn’t work out. Shes already done a foundation. The stress and uncertainty is agony!!

Truetoself · 29/05/2026 20:33

Did she also have an offer from Manchester?

No but she got to the last round and last round OSD.

Has your DD heard now? My DD is going to Mountview Peckham Cert HE in September and has been connected by student services to a what’s app group/groups of others. Could DM you those contacts if helpful,

Just checked again and nope. Nothing since we confirmed the deposit. Would love if you could PM us the details as I think she’s getting a bit of FOMO from her friends going off to offer holder days etc for other universities!

Any one got any updates on East 15 reserve list for ba acting please?

I know someone else waiting too, I would have thought places would be surfacing around now with so many other offers out…….

Wrensweet · 31/05/2026 11:11

I'd thought so???
How long have they been on wait list do you know?

Reklats · 31/05/2026 16:39

Accommodation question for those who know where their DC is heading - is anyone looking for housing for ArtsEd Acting Foundation students? They have been directed to a F B group but it's been up a couple of weeks and only a handful of people, DS included, have posted, with nobody making any real moves to do anything 😫Does anyone have a DC with any insight, either a current/last year's student, or someone in the same position? Even help with areas or estate agents would be good as we're not local. TIA!

Since Feb half term audition. My son was on it too from the same time but came off in mid April as they increased offer from foundation to BA Acting

Wrensweet · 01/06/2026 16:00

Great to know..thanks

contrarydramamum · 02/06/2026 21:59

Anyone looking for accommodation in Guildford for September? My daughter had rebooked to stay in her existing room at Guilden Village at £236 per week in a flat in the same block as the main reception (4th floor large window looking out over the Lido), but she's decided to join a houseshare instead. All being well with the paperwork, we will need someone to take over her lease. She also has 2 week early move in for her actual room booked too if a Conti student.

If a Conti student, they also include either cashback towards a railcard to Woking or a free bus pass to Woking for the whole year.

Truetoself · 02/06/2026 22:55

@Reklatsperhaps because it is too early? If you get a house share now you will need to pay from now or when it’s available from. However, i think there are also host families if a houseshare falls through …… try not to worry

Please ignore. I've tried to delete but it won't let me. It's now sorted.

me and DD went to watch the third year GSA MT performance of Young Frankestein. It was really as good as any west end performance I have seen. Everyone was insanely talented. This really brought home that talent is the baseline. It’s probably the “X” factor, suitability for the role, knowing the right people and being in the right place at the right time that matters……..

I would love to have seen the same young people perform the same show at the start of their first year to see the value addedness of drama school in terms of performance ability.

i can definitely see it in my daughter during her BTEC MT journey

My DD and I went to see the third year Rose Bruford BA Acting final show this year. It was excellent, indistinguishable from a professional cast.
