As the original thread is reaching its limits I’ve started a new one for those still wanting advice/support on this crazy journey.

Oh I have heard that is the way to find out for those waiting. Thankyou for sharing and good luck with those next steps !

Thanks! Glad we have next steps. As much as my son enjoyed the audition despite hearing things that put him off going, he wasn’t chomping at the bit for the result as thought he may not progress but it seems vast majority of those that had 2nd rounds as late as early April have been overlooked as 3rd round offers are now happening and time is running out, so it doesn’t feel particularly equal consideration for the last batch date of applicants really, not feeling very impressed with their process

Re timings - DD applied early in October as she has a levels. By the end of January she had 2 rejections (EDA and Artsed), 3 BA offers (Leeds, Urdang and GSA) and a cert HE from Conti. Remaining recalls all came in Feb but we cancelled as she accepted GSA. It was a huge relief to get it all done and dusted relatively early. I would still apply early if we had to do it all again as the self tape responses tend to be quicker due to less backlog.

Has anyone heard anything from RCS second rounds? My dd was there on 17th March and hasn’t had any reply yet.

Congratulations to all your DCs and huge well done for putting themselves out there, whatever the results! I've loved following their progress and picking up bits of wisdom 😁 Looking ahead to next year - I'm seeing lots of stress related to how long it's taking for schools to send decisions at this point, and the issue that lots of places will already have been allocated and confirmed. Makes me wonder what people's thoughts/experiences are re timing of applications. I know it's swings and roundabouts - more places still open if you apply earlier, versus more time in training if you apply late, but I'd be interested to know your thoughts. DS has very happily accepted a Foundation in Acting at Arts Ed so will be going again next year.

Congrats! We are both taking foundations at different places, so we can come back and share our experiences for those wanting to know about the experience. Also, probably see you here next year....

We had a really early audition (Oct) to one we liked (and would have accepted had it been the only choice) but ultimately it would have been their last choice. This was just to test some material and get a feel for the experience. It did help and dc changed some of the material.

Then did:
1 in person in Nov plus 1 self tape first round
2 in Dec (1 was a recall for the self tape)
Had a yes from 2 by the end of December, and a rejection from 1 but that was great as it took the pressure off.

We did the one's DC really wanted in Jan/Feb. When auditioning in Feb it was most people's first audition and was their last. We have accepted a foundation place at the one they auditioned for last. I think as a foundation they will be advised to apply late next year, but dc is hoping to do one earlier (Dec/Jan) as that really worked out for them. I feel like the early offers were a real confidence boost and helped settle the audition material in a bit. I feel like they went wide and this was partly to really get a feel for what was out there and where they felt a sense of belonging.

I've definitely seen people who were holding offers announce they are going elsewhere so might be some movement. Were you able to find out how many people are in front of you on the list? Fingers crossed

Congrats on the foundation place! Your plan sounds like a really good one, much more considered than my DS's 'night before the deadline' style! 😂 I like the idea of an early in person one to test the water, then top choices a bit later but not too late. Will definitely be back here next year, see you then!

Think we will be back too as we have two very late auditions to go to and are still waiting for Central’s decision on C and D ( likely rejection) although out of nowhere and an earlier rejection came a request for another tape to be sent into Birmingham. 🤷‍♀️

Ooh that sounds promising from Birmingham! My son's friend had a BA offer form there on Tuesday so may be that they now know their numbers and are reconsidering! Fingers crossed for you!

Ooh that's exciting! Is that one they really wanted?

BeliaBoo · 06/05/2026 10:43

It was high on the list although Central was the dream. It’s an interesting turn of events to be sure !

Truetoself · 06/05/2026 10:51

Went to watch Karate Kid the Musical last night. The lead character went to my DD school and got the role straight after sixth form. It may have been my imagination but they were taking their bows the expression on his face said “all my dreams have come true”. Was really lovely to see

Edited

I know three people who auditioned, one got an offer a week last Friday, one got a reserve list offer yesterday, the other hasn’t heard yet despite a very positive interview.

Was this acting or MT? Thanks

Good point, two were def MT, there’s a chance that the third person who hasn’t heard yet might have been acting but I think they were also MT.

JustDramaMumThings · 13/05/2026 12:52

Has anyone heard of anyone receiving an Acting BA offer yet for RWCMD? We seen on another forum last night that at least one male has been given an offer, but wondering if anyone else has heard anything else? Not sure if all the offers went out last night or if they will be staggered.

Mumager26 · 14/05/2026 18:23

Just wondering if anyone has a YP going to LIPA in September who is staying at Cathdedral Campus? We have had a letter from the property management company with a new common law tenancy agreement which we can sign or stick with the Assured Tenancy we initially signed which becomes a rolling contract. My brain is a bit scrambled to be honest with what is he best thing to do. Rent and payment schedules remain the same. Anybody in a similar situation?

Hi all
My daughter is on wait list for ba acting at East 15 after doing cert there.

Second year of applying. Anyone gave any experience with this or advice?.

If you get offered later what happens about student funding etc...

I’ve seen a post where funding was applied for later and still all came good with a bit of chasing. My son is starting BA acting at east 15 this year, he was on the waitlist but came off mid April (earlier than expected) from the chats he’s having with others he’s met to sort accommodation there is still uncertainty of some whether they’ll accept as they are waiting for other things so I expect movement soon, fingers crossed for you!

There’s just new aspects all the time to conquer isn’t there! Now it’s the accomodation and navigating new tenancy agreement rules! 🤪
