2026 UCAS - Offers, Rejections and Waiting to Hear

For those whose DC have submitted their UCAS application without having yet taken the A-level (or equivalent) exams…

How are your DC getting on with hearing back from the universities?

Fortunately, 4 offers.
Waiting on Warwick (for Law), but because of PG vs std offer, it won't be soon!

DS sent his in a couple of weeks ago. He's got offers from Exeter, Nottingham and Loughborough, waiting to hear from Bath (his first choice) and Durham.

@zurigoBath can sometimes takes ages. UCAS submitted October. Heard back in March for econ!

DD hasn't submitted hers yet but is planning to do so this week. So I'm joining the thread and hoping I'll be able to contribute to it soon!

Yes, I've heard that - I guess they just want to get ALL their offers in before they make a decision - which is fair enough.

Submitted Monday, one offer for sheffield so far.

UCAS sent to school, waiting for school to check and send off, so nothing yet!

Dd with one choice for early entry and added a couple of other unis recently. No offers yet! She has a portfolio to submit too, and the deadlines for these vary. So, I think this will slow the process. Anyone else have dc applying for fine art?

DS has 1.5 offers for now, Warwick and an interview at Manchester.

We don't expect to hear from the rest until after New Year.

My DD submitted her form last week and got an offer on Monday from Sheffield, which she was delighted about. I suspect we may have to wait a while for the others, I’ve heard Edinburgh and Durham are usually slow.

I think DD submitted last week and has offers from Leeds, Sheffield and York. Not really expecting Bristol or Durham for a while though.

@MumOfLL what is your DS studying that he needs an intv for if you don’t mind me asking? Is an intv common outside Oxbridge or medicine? (Sorry, this is my first and only rodeo re uni applications)

@Suffolker Edinburgh has been surprisingly quick for some courses this year.

@Mediumred Physics at Manchester does require in-person interview. In the university website days 'We are unable to make offers to applicants residing in the UK who have not attended an interview with us.'

Cambridge interviews (2 x online via Zoom) invitation received today for early December I have just heard (Human Political Social Sciences). Offers from Bristol, Manchester and Liverpool but not Durham yet.

Good to know offers are coming in. DS submitted last week. 1 offer - Manchester received this week.

Ds has offers from Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff. Waiting to hear from Oxford and LSE. Suspect LSE will be very late.

Form now submitted to school for reference to be added. They have a deadline of early December to be submitted to UCAS so it's a waiting game now. 🤞🏻

DS has had offered for Bristol and Durham today (law)! Whoop whoop.

DD has an offer from QML politics and IR - KCL war studies and test and interview for Cambridge HSPS

DS has offer from KCL and from QM. Waiting for LSE, UCL and Edinburgh.

This is my first time 🙃. Do they get ‘rejected’ if there is no offer? Is there an explicit communication about being rejected?

I love the sound of the War studies course at KCL @Themillandbakery. DS has applied to UCL so if he gets in he may be able to do a module from that course. Fingers crossed.

DS has two offers for history so far - Exeter and Warwick. Waiting on Oxford UCL and Durham 🤞

@Themillandbakery my DC does War Studies at KCL and loves it!

@BrunchBarBandit @Ventress it should be updated on the UCAS portal to show if rejected. You may not hear from the Unis directly.

Awaiting college to check details before submission! Sounds like some pretty speedy offers which is encouraging.
