For those whose DC have submitted their UCAS application without having yet taken the A-level (or equivalent) exams…

How are your DC getting on with hearing back from the universities?

We've got an interview for medicine at Sunderland in a few weeks. Not heard from any of the others yet but not expecting to. She's not applied for her fifth option yet but her friends that have have got conditional acceptances.

A million years ago when I went to Uni I had 5 unconditional offers by Christmas (I'm Scottish and had excellent Highers).

DD got an offer from KCL last night to study psychology , still waiting on Oxford, UCL , Edinburgh and St Andrews

EducatingRosemary · 20/11/2025 22:25

Offer from York received now too.

DD has offers from Edinburgh, Exeter and 2 courses at Manchester. Not awaiting any more as she didn’t include a 5th choice.

EducatingRosemary · 21/11/2025 21:47

Just received Loughborough. YP is very happy as that’s their favourite!
Now has offers from Loughborough, York and Manchester. Waiting for Warwick and Bath.

@EducatingRosemary a flurry of offers - exciting. Which course is this for?

Loughborough was one of my DS' top choices as well.

Didn’t expect to get the updates at gone 9pm that’s for sure! Course is Psychology.

Fingers crossed your DS hears from them soon too.

Mine seems to be alternating between refreshing UCAS and the DVSA (also wants a driving test date!).

My DD has offers from York, Loughborough, Lancaster, Birmingham and Warwick for Psychology. Applied during early entry even though she didn't need to. Warwick was the last one to come in. I think it took about 3 weeks. Current favourites are York and Loughborough. Also juggling with the demands of preparing for a driving test!

Echobelly · 22/11/2025 09:48

Got offers from Sussex and Manchester for anthropology - Machester is his second choice, so that's good. Waiting on Goldsmiths, SOAS and Birmingham.

That’s a great suite of offers! Out of interest have they all offered at the published grades for the course?

I didn't know about the published grades thing until DC told us this morning - that was new to both of us.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 22/11/2025 19:06

it’s great to hear how many are getting offers.

Ds has applied for maths type courses (including MORSE and maths and stats) and has got offers from Manchester and Warwick and still waiting to hear back from LSE, Bath and Oxford.

Yes they have. Birmingham is AAB because she has a Science (Psychology) instead of AAA but this is what is published on their website. Good luck with the rest of the offers for your DS!

temperedolive · 23/11/2025 03:04

DC1 has offers from Bristol, Leeds and Exeter. She's waiting to hear from Birmingham (she got that application in later, as it replaced a suspended course at Nottingham) and about interviews at Oxford.

DC2 is planning a gap year, so not applying this year.

HollyhockDays · 23/11/2025 15:07

PrettyPoncho · 20/11/2025 10:01

DS has had offered for Bristol and Durham today (law)! Whoop whoop.

Has your DS already done the LNAT?

DS has offers from Queens Belfast, Newcastle and Glasgow, waiting in Bristol and Durham.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 23/11/2025 15:52

DD had her UCAS in the week before half term and has had all five offers back - the last one being Bristol which came about 10 days ago.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 23/11/2025 16:45

Great news @HavfrueDenizKisi

Which courses have they applied for, and where?

HavfrueDenizKisi · 23/11/2025 16:58

@Muchtoomuchtodo she has applied for Liberal Arts with a year abroad at Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Birmingham. Bristol her first choice with AAA offer and Manchester second also AAA but lowered to AAB if she gets and A in her EPQ.

girlfromthesouthcountry · 23/11/2025 18:09

Offers from Bristol and Exeter so far (grades as published, but offer from Exeter would be lowered if DS chose as his firm). Still waiting on Durham, Edinburgh and St Andrews.

Llangewydd57 · 23/11/2025 21:02

Well done on all the offers coming in.
Haven’t heard from anywhere yet. 🤞DC gets one offer before Christmas.

BrunchBarBandit · 24/11/2025 17:27

BrunchBarBandit · 20/11/2025 11:17

DS has offer from KCL and from QM. Waiting for LSE, UCL and Edinburgh.

This is my first time 🙃. Do they get ‘rejected’ if there is no offer? Is there an explicit communication about being rejected?

Oooh, he’s just had an offer from Edinburgh.

No rejections on UCAS so still waiting for UCL and LSE

I understand LSE are known as being late with their offers, is that right?

MellowPinkDeer · 24/11/2025 17:28

We’ve heard back from them all, all offered a place.

There's been some explicit rejections on the Medicine thread so yes.

Dery · 24/11/2025 17:38

@BrunchBarBandit - there should be an explicit rejection but my DD in last year’s cycle never heard directly back on her application to St Andrews. She just got a UCAS update some time in May saying all unis had responded and she had 4 offers (having applied to 5 unis). (St A was always very speculative so she wasn’t particularly bothered).

AuntyBulgaria · 24/11/2025 18:22

So exciting to hear about everyone's offers coming through. @Muchtoomuchtodo my son is also applying to MORSE at Warwick and other maths/Econ/stats type courses.

I would like an offer to come through so I can relax a bit. Just don't want the first thing DS hears to be a rejection.
