Offers for 2025

ontheturn · 04/11/2024 16:15

I noticed that in 2024 there was an offers thread where people shared when their children. had submitted to ucas and what offers they had received. Anyone interested? We have offers for Manchester, Bristol and Leeds all within ten days of submitting ucas but still waiting on Edinburgh. We do know others who submitted at the same time who have had Edinburgh offers already.

@Woollyguru congratulations to your DD! Mine has said she's seen a few offers have come out for Warwick Maths today according to Reddit. Getting closer to her TMUA score. She's bracing herself for rejection though.

Thank you. It's a relief as we thought we'd be waiting until April. What score did your DD get?

SockFluffInTheBath · 23/02/2025 08:22

@caringcarer I don’t think the last minute wobble is unusual, and your FDS clearly has more than most to make him wobble. I hope he gets the offers so he has choices. He’s lucky to have you.

LighthouseCat · 23/02/2025 09:30

@Woollyguru quite a bit lower than 5.9 unfortunately - 4.6. I think she'll get an offer but I reckon it will require STEP. She's currently pretty adamant she won't do STEP. If we knew sooner rather than later she'd potentially have time to reconsider that. She has luckily fallen in love with another uni almost as much as Warwick but we're still waiting on an offer from there too.

Monstermunchy · 23/02/2025 09:39

@caringcarer at least there’s still plenty of time to make a decision either way - sounds as if he has good support behind him

It has been radio silence for computer science (undergraduate) from Durham, St Andrews and Edinburgh. RUK and non-contextual. Predicted grade 4xA*s. Has anyone heard anything, had any offers and are RUK and non-contextual. I know we need to have patience, but it’s hard! Thanks

DD's friend heard back from Durham CS in October/November (which kinda made up for not getting an interview with Cambridge).

She is a straight 9's / A* sort of student.

Presumably they are making offers in tranches.

Ours were a mixed bag. 1 replied the same day(!), Leeds took about 6 weeks.

BrieAndChilli · 23/02/2025 13:37

DS1 subitted his UCAS application back at the start of o tober for Politics and international relations (or equivilant)

he got offers from Plymouth, Cardiff and Exeter within a few weeks but is still waiting for Bristol and Bath. Anyone doing politics got offers from them yet?

His first choice is Exeter and he was going to put xardiff as his insurance choice but Exeter have given him a a low offer meaning Cardiff actually want higher grades!

My Foster son applied last week. His offer went in late because he had a huge wobble and was not sure he wanted to go away from us. If he'd have applied on time he'd have got a contextualised offer for being in care. Now I'm not sure he will. He wants to study Sports Coaching and Management Undergraduate degree with integrated Masters at Worcester University. He's come on so far since he's been living with us but he still lacks confidence. I really hope he gets the course he wants but he has a back up University College Birmingham where they give £5k bursary cost of living. I'm also a bit worried he has applied to please us. He's a bit of a people pleaser.

Best of luck to him, and to you also.

Nothing is cast in stone - if he gets an offer and decides it's definitely for him, then great.

And if changes his mind, also great - there are plentiful of pathways for everyone to be happy and successful post school.

@Coldilocks Monday March 24th?

@Coldilocks Monday March 24th?

I’d better check DS’s email. Unless different departments have different days!

She might not get a STEP offer as she's above the average which is think is approx 4.5.

Which is the other uni she likes? We're waiting to hear from UCL. I definitely prefer Warwick (much cheaper and better maths dept imo) over UCL and I think DD is leaning towards Warwick. But apparently UCL is more prestigious for certain careers.

LighthouseCat · 24/02/2025 19:17

@Woollyguru thank you! Maybe she will be lucky. She's still waiting on Bath, and would be v happy to go there if Warwick maths doesn't happen. I've heard Bath can be quite slow with offers and she didn't get her application in until Dec. UCL is an amazing uni but I agree I think Maths at Warwick is thought to be better.

My DD is also waiting to hear from St Andrews, Edinburgh and Durham for history and MFL (International Relations and MFL at St Andrews). So frustrating!

Hersetta427 · 25/02/2025 09:13

Durham offer received yesterday - nice to have but not her first choice.

Had a 75% scholarship offer last week as well - little minx still not keen though.

LighthouseCat · 26/02/2025 16:48

Bath offer (Maths). Very happy DD 😅

Okayornot · 26/02/2025 20:54

These are brilliant offers. Well done to all.

Getting a bit nervous about DD and St Andrews because she already has her grades so although she is RUK I've been hoping she would get some priority and we'd hear by now. Her smallish course is v oversubscribed though (and popular with internationals) so we shall see.

Livein2025 · 26/02/2025 21:00

Is it IR Okayofnot?

Okayornot · 27/02/2025 15:32

No, not IR.

Livein2025 · 28/02/2025 10:41

I just know that’s a very competitive course. My DC didn’t hear about St A until mid-March - this was three years ago. I well remember the waiting game!

Okayornot · 28/02/2025 13:43

Yes, I remember the slew of rejections that came out last May which was a really long time to wait. I have seen a couple of posts from history applicants rejected this week so perhaps things are starting to move in at least some areas. Fingers crossed!

Waiting for Edinburgh history here. Class mate got Durham history yesterday.

bristol

offers from York and Birmingham

manpan1 · 07/03/2025 22:55

Has anyone heard back from Edinburgh Vet School yet? Final interviews were 26th Feb so wondered how long it might be before offers / rejections are sent? Thanks

Changes17 · 08/03/2025 09:31

Five offers now received for MPhys. Varies from 2 x Astar, 1xA to ABB. Durham, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle.

DS reckons he’s going to leave the decision as late as possible to get a sense of how confident he’s feeling about his grades.

nutsandraisinsrock · 08/03/2025 10:29

Still waiting on St Andrews - anyone heard from them?

StAndrewsConfusion · 08/03/2025 12:35

@nutsandraisinsrock my DD got an offer from St Andrews a week ago. She applied for maths with German and she got an offer for just German! She hasn't done A level German, but got a grade 9 at GCSE. I have a post on here called "St Andrews Offer - Confused" on which I have got tonnes of dood advice. We are trying to find out if she'll be able to do some maths if she accepts the offer and possibly transfer to maths/maths with German at the end of Year 1.
