Accommodation at Nottingham Uni

DD got a place through clearing last Thursday. They guarantee an offer of accommodation. She put an application in immediately and then dashed off for a fortnight's holiday!

Not heard anything yet. Anyone have any knowledge of accommodation at Nottingham?

@Tickledtrout yes that will be it. It's says you need to set that up before you can access accounts.

Thank you. She's hit a message from Microsoft in Croatian now... think it'll looks lot easier from home.
Hope everyone else is feeling confident. Quite glad they seem to be starting a week later than many places... we're going to need it here

Hi @Fayrazzled. Which part are they finding glitchy? It took quite a while to access the IT registration due to server errors but I think everything else has gone ok. My son is in Nightingale too!

I have paid the first accommodation installment on the hub for on campus halls and it was easy enough. We were never asked for a £250 deposit but it looks like that might only be if you are paying your accommodation from the maintanace loan. If you are then they ask for a £250 deposit and extend the first payment deadline by a week or so to allow for the payment to arrive. Could be wrong but that's how interpretted it and does make sense.

Hi Fourcandlesx, we are the same- I have paid the first hall fees accommodation via the hub easily enough. We weren't asked for a deposit either and what you suggest about the maintenance loan makes sense.
In terms of the online registration, it seems like something hasn't been filled in correctly but we can't see what. It looks to be on the address page. He'll have to contact IT support tomorrow.m

@Blubell46@Fourcandlesx@Fayrazzled The information about paying just the deposit (rather than the term's fees) was in the Accommodation Offer email (at least it was in my DDs). It say if you were relying on Student Finance you could pay £250 by 14th Sept and then the balance would be due by 9th October

Students who are reliant on a Student Finance England maintenance loan to pay their accommodation fees can make a minimum payment of £250.00 by the 14 September 2023 to secure their room. This will then be deducted from the amount due for Period 1 and Period 2 with the remainder due on or before 9 October 2023

We don’t have a slot yet. Maybe because we had to return a guarantors agreement (self catering) which we did today? Do you think we need to chase up?

@Fourcandlesx nope! That would be helpful! Although I don’t think he ever got an email inviting him to do so so will look into that today….Deakins Place also advised him to do that in an email at 12.30 this morning! They work late! (night staff obviously)

@Allloveisbeautiful the induction should be in his tasks now on his Student Roost account and I am told they get their key pass at the end which effectively checks them in. Hopefully he will be able to book his slot once he has that but I'm not sure on that part.

My ds has joined FB but is trying to find a WhatsApp group for Sherwood halls. He can see all the other halls for WhatsApp but not Sherwood- any ideas?

Is he in the main group? DD has shown me that Sherwood Group is on a link tree in one of the big groups.

Hello - my DD is off to UoN next Friday - she managed to get a room in Broadgate but has had to take a studio which was all that was left when she really wanted a flat with a shared kitchen. I'm assuming that Broadgates must be pretty popular as she was on the priority list for accomodation (medical grounds)? Is there anyone else here with DC going to Broadgates?
