Accommodation at Nottingham Uni

DD got a place through clearing last Thursday. They guarantee an offer of accommodation. She put an application in immediately and then dashed off for a fortnight's holiday!

Not heard anything yet. Anyone have any knowledge of accommodation at Nottingham?

DD spent a lot of time there with friends
Says it's the most sociable self catered hall in the whole uni.
Recent build - all room v nice and lots of social space.
All the flats/houses interacted

Spoke to admissions on Friday and apparently they should get an email on Monday with link to pay deposit. Due by 14th Sept

a few weeks my daughter in year 3 at the uni of Nottingham Malaysia campus has had hers come through. But not her visa. But that’s another story.

Has anyone booked their moving in slot yet?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto for the uni halls I think you might have to complete the induction first which opens about a week before arrival date according to the portal - I don't know for certain but that was the case with my eldest at his uni.

I just tried to log on the accommodation portal to check the payment amounts and it now says 'user not recognised'. I think they get the link to register at the university today so hopefully it's connected to that.

@somewhereovertherain hope the visa issues have been sorted? I am an immigration lawyer so if you ever need any advice let me know!

He's definitely booked it he says. He's booked 11am on the Saturday

Does anyone know of any WhatsApp/Snapchat discussions for the students or how to find them?

My ds has got his slot...Sherwood Halls on Friday!

We have yet to pay any deposit so am hoping the link comes through otherwise he may of filled something wrong.

I was hoping they will let him know who is in his floor so they can start communications.

My son is in Nightingale and booked his arrival slot yesterday. I haven’t paid any money yet but I do recall it being due by the 14th. He said he has joined a couple of WhatsApp/Snapchat groups/ I think he might have been sent the links to them by the accommodation team. One didn’t work though.

We paid the deposit last week and had the guarantors agreement emailed yesterday to our son. Does anyone know when the maintenance loan is paid?! Need to sit down and go through a budget with our son especially as he’s self catering!

So our son got his email regarding Guarantor agreement yesterday but nothing regarding booking a slot? Was this sent via email?

According to the accommodation page it appears that he’ll get an email directly from Deakins Place-« If you are arriving at one of our self-catered partnership sites, such as Broadgate Park, Riverside Point, or Nottingham Two, your site will contact you directly to confirm your arrival date. » @Fayrazzled have you received the Guarantor agreement too?

My ds has got his room number and slot but we have not received a link and I also remember an email stating amount due on the 14th.

He has looked at his profile on Nottingham University and under finance/ pay amount due- we can see all amounts for the term- no deposit.

I think we have to pay through their portal - the amount due to be paid per term.

DD is struggling to find or log into hub...are we missing something? She's got access to the accommodation booking site but not hub. Has she missed something do you think?

@Tickledtrout my son got an email on Monday morning with instructions to register for his IT account. Get her to check if she has received that. Once she has registered for the IT account it gives her access to her university email and she will have a proper username (well a series of random letters and numbers) and password. She will then be able to use this to access the hub. You can't access the hub until you have activated the IT account apparently.

Thank you so much for that! Yes she's got the IT account set up. She rushes everything but I think she hit something about needing to install Microsoft authentication to access hub and she decided to skip over that. We're away til Friday and she's doing everything on her phone which won't be helping really.

@Blubell46 same here and no deposit requested so not just you. Will just pay the first full payment on 14th. I assumed it was because he applied through clearing so not much point getting a deposit when the payment is due anyway.

@Fourcandlesx that is good to know that it isn't just me. Ds didn't go through clearing but it seems some gets deposits and we don't but at least we found it!

Always check junk mail- a couple of emails went to my ds junk mail.
