Thought I would start a new thread as its likely to fill up quick now.

So here we are after many months of applications, assessments and interviews. The wait is finally over for those with DC who have applied to Oxford. Those with Cambridge applicants have another 2 weeks to wait until the 25th Jan (bummer!!)

You have all been a lovely bunch to share this journey with and I wish your dc nothing but the BEST OF LUCK for tomorrow (and the 25th). Flowers

It was a blur. Google Oxford university college codes. It's a PDF.

and ProggyMat!

bendmeoverbackwards · 11/01/2022 09:54

Just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck. This was us last year, dd didn’t get an offer which was very hard at the time but all worked out well in the end. I know how stressful it is. Well done to your dc for getting this far and congratulate yourself too for being wonderfully supportive parents.

Horace123 · 11/01/2022 09:55

@ProggyMat YAY!!!!!! I'm so pleased for Proggy Jnr. I'm biting my nails waiting for DS. Even hoping he finishes maths exam early!

SandyBayley · 11/01/2022 09:58

Good luck all. Bend has said it all.

DS got an offer from C in 2019 but missed his grades. DD got rejected from O this time last year. Both now extremely happy at Durham.

Congrats to @MFLMum2021 and @ProggyMat! Rooting for all your dc!

MFLMum2021 · 11/01/2022 10:02

@TangoWhiskyAlphaTango - she's in a mock exam atm!

Huge congrats to @MFLMum2021 and @Proggymat DC! Good luck to everyone else waiting....!

Horace123 · 11/01/2022 10:06

@SandyBayley - rather unhelpfully one of the maths teachers told DS and his friends yesterday (after the chemistry exam) that HL maths mocks are generally a bad day - apparently lots come out in a state (because the maths is so hard) and then they check their emails and see they've been rejected by Oxford!

I’ve been lurking on the threads but not dared post as felt I was tempting fate.
My son has had an offer from Oxford this morning.
I had prepared myself to deal with him not getting an offer. He applied for a competitive course with lower than average acceptance rates.
I feel so relieved.
We are not a family with a university background. I am the only person in the family who has been to university and I went as a mature student.
My son has had an adverse childhood at times and would have been considered disadvantaged for more than one reason. He has battled mental health issues and has come out fighting and trying his best to achieve what he wants.
I haven't yet told anybody other than my husband.
Best of luck to everyone else.
