Oxford aspirants part 5......the wait is over the results are in!!

Thought I would start a new thread as its likely to fill up quick now.

So here we are after many months of applications, assessments and interviews. The wait is finally over for those with DC who have applied to Oxford. Those with Cambridge applicants have another 2 weeks to wait until the 25th Jan (bummer!!)

You have all been a lovely bunch to share this journey with and I wish your dc nothing but the BEST OF LUCK for tomorrow (and the 25th).

Very best of luck to all the Oxford applicants (and their anxious parents!) from another on the Cambridge waiting bench. DD is also awaiting mock results and convinced she’s not done as well as she’d like so it’s a very tense time here 😬

Wishing you DD's and DS's the best of luck today. I remember this day from last year and having to refrain from checking in with DD every 10 mins (who was on remote lessons) asking for an update if any news. Her offer came in just before 10am and both UCAS/college email within 10 minutes of each other.
It really is one hell of a journey to go through with them so I hope there are as many positive stories as possible on here.

Urgh, it's so nerve-wracking. I will be upset if DD doesn't get an offer. DH and I met at Oxford, and she's definitely cleverer than me! I also know she would absolutely love it. However, she will also love York, which is her second choice, so I need to keep telling myself that, and do my best to support her if the news isn't good.

DD (Cambridge maths) has finished her mocks and has a couple of days off now, she's off shopping. Roll on the 25th, and news from St Andrew's and Durham! Long wait...

Best of luck to everyone. Ds was rejected pre-interview and is very anxiously waiting for UCL. In many ways it’s nice to have a date so at least you know one way or the other.

Just found you all - a bit late! Posted last night in education and someone helpfully showed me you lot… wish I’d found you before.
Any idea what time they can check in and find out? Oxford that is.

I am a newbie to this Oxbridge business. My daughter has applied to Cambridge to do education with english and drama. Have any of you ladies on here got any experience of the course/ how competitive it is to get an offer? My daughter goes to a private school which has been good for her on many levels but maybe now has reduced her chances of an offer. I wish I’d had a crystal ball 17 years ago!

That sounds like an interesting course. Do you mind me asking if she has a particular career in mind? Do they tend to go into teaching or acting or both? My dd might be interested. Good luck to yours.

Notonetojudge usually quite early, D1 (2020) got an email from her college before 9am, track updated just after that. Good luck!

Thanks @JulesJules. Tbh it’s probably a good thing I’ve only just discovered the threads as have been obsessing enough as it is. Ds sent me a text last night saying not to talk about it, so I’ll just have to wait and see if he’s smiling or not when I get back from walking the dog!

This thread doesn’t apply to me as mine is still a baby, but I remember the stress of all this! Good luck to everyone!

DD has an offer!!!! It’s a different combination of subjects to what she applied for though. She and I are still thrilled

New combo is the language she applied for and a a second language rather than her other subject. Interestingly she thought the other subject interview went better. College not yet confirmed - she’s had the UCAS confirmation but no email from the college yet.

The college code should be on the UCAS email.

@MFLMum2021 Congratulations - so exciting. Can you not tell from UCAS location code?

DS has his higher level maths mock this morning so he went off without phone or laptop and will check when he gets back.

Ah interesting. I had a similar thing myself (applied for English and French, offered MFL alone so started Italian from scratch; great experience).
