new thread for porky veggers trying to lose weight

have fun, be kind to each other, eat f+v, move around

see you in a bit

oh it is WEIGH IN DAY

you don't have to weigh in, but if you want to, this is the day

have had usual posh muesli + fruit for breakfast
half cheese muffin with butter, 4 dried apricots, half apple

have weighed self and 1lb i thought i had lost last week, is back
i know things like 1lb are going to go up and down daily
anyway i would still like to lose 6lb in 4 weeks, but think 4lb is more realistic - or possibly just slightly less improbable

Sorry - am not avoiding weigh-in, had to go to osteopath. Have a stinking cold too which is outrageous given the amount of fruit and veg I have eaten!

1 lb will go up and down I think. Start from today and see where you are in a week when you have been giving it your full attention. It's easy to think you have been cutting down but if you're not counting it, you'll forget about all the little bits.

I am 10 stone 13. I was eleven last week but again I can go up and down by a few pounds depending on the day etc.

I want to be 10, by the summer preferably, I don't think that is that unreasonable given I have put those 13 lbs on since christmas. No doubt it will be harder to get off.

Boco · 22/03/2010 11:53

I'm 9 stone 12.
I'd like to be 9 stone by the summer.

Really need to incorporate more exercise into daily routine, but it's hard as all that's about to change as i'll soon by working 4 days a week and not sure how that's going to work out timing wise.

so far today muesli

I know we're not doing a cut it out style diet but I did ditch half my potatoes yesterday adn replace with more broccoli and carrots - wiht salmon, and usually i snack in the evening but didn't.

I also need to drink more water - i can never be bothered.

Boco · 22/03/2010 11:58

Love the thread title btw

Will be back tonight.

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 13:28

i must admit i stole the title from that mad list we found 2 years ago - do you remember? inspiration was in short supply
but i thought was possibly appropriate - i certainly feel like a battleship, or possibly a pumpkin....

i am sure i am cutting down guad, but last time i lost weight i only lost half a pound a week. which was ok i suppose but seemed very slow. i am not prepared to be hungry all the time, and i like cake too much, i will do this slowly i think but hopefully not TOO slowly....might take me a few weeks to work out how much / little i can eat and still lose weight
am planning to run 3 times a week - even if just quick jog
i weigh 10 stone 6 but it looks a lot worse worse as it is ALL round my middle
i never put any weight on my arms or legs or bum for instance

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 13:31

hummus, roasted veg, avocado and quorn lump in a wrap
this is my dinner though i think
if that makes sense

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 16:32

Oh. I am the fattest. I am not surprised really.

I keep seeming to say the wrong thing, Franny, I was trying to be reassuring about it taking ages! It is hard to find the balance where you can lose weight without being too hungry.

I had to farm ds2 off this afternoon and go to bed. I feel rough.

Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 16:34

and ALL my weight goes on my legs and bum! Top never changes that much.

I am like a pear balancing on two turkey drummers atm.

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:06

i don't think you are the fattest at all guad
i am a size 14 and a bit of a squeeze into that sometimes tbh
i saw you before when you were i think the weight i am now and you were really slim and looked fab
(that sounds stalkerish that i remember how much you weighed, but you mentioned it!)

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:07

oh i ran! well to call it that gives it too much dignity really
i shambled about a bit

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:25

pizza, red cabbage, sweetcorn, broccoli
satsuma
banana

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/03/2010 18:39

I don't know my weight, but I can assure you all I am the fattest

granola and blueberries.
1/2 slice of white bread with butter & marmite.
wholemeal pitta with hummus, cous cous and cucumber sticks.
homemade pizza with a rocket salad.
copious amounts of water and 1 cup of tea.

Am off soon to do 2 hours of yoga. It could be kill or cure as by back feels sore after I twanged it on Saturday.

Hope you're feeling better Guad.

DH is a runner, I wish it was something I feel like I could do and enjoy as it's so good for you and cheap to do.

DS stuck his finger in mouse guts today One of the cats left a disemboweled mouse on the patio and ds saw it before I did. Luckily I got to him before he put his finger in his mouth

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/03/2010 18:42

Oh, and as I haven't chatted to you lot for agggees, I'll have loads of nosey questions to see how you and yours have been. But it will have to wait as I need to go and feed ds before I go to yoga.

Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 18:44

Did I mention it? Was that the meet-up?
I was about that then. I got a bit thinner than that and kept it off until christmas but then I returned to the dark side. It was the cheese I think. I have an addictive personality.

Go ahead yoghurt bar
banana
tea

rice cakes
tuna with salad cream cucumber rocket
tomato and lentil soup

Lean ham with melon for a snack

Grilled chicken
Ratatouille

Honey and lemon

I have a tiny slice of carrot cake that someone made me. It is about an inch on the wedge, two inches long and maybe an inch and a half high with no icing. I am aloowed that before bed am I not? Thank you.

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:46

erk @ mouse guts
and LOL at the competitive fatness
i have this image of us all elbowing each other "no I am much fatter"

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 18:47

Urrgh at mouse guts.

I stood on a bird in bare feet once. I thought it was dog poo but when I looked down the guts were splayed throughed my toes in a little maroon fountain.

It was dead when I stood On it I hasten to add. I am not that light of foot that I can stand on a bird without it flying off. It was a cat.

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:48

it was the picnic guad
i do remember you mentioning it because i remember thinking "jeez i wish i looked as good as she does when i am that weight!"
it's not really about weight is it, it's about being a good size for your shape

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 18:49

I suppose so. I have a friend that is half a stone lighter than me when we look the same. I guess I have heavier bones. She has tiny ankles and wrists anyway.

pointydog · 22/03/2010 18:53

I have heavy bones

I am swithering about trying to lose weight so am being all vague and shady. I need to sort out my motivation first.

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:56

yes you can lurk and come back when you are in the zone

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 18:57

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 19:02

Pointy - Yes I am sure my bones weigh a LOT. [GRIN]

Guadalupe · 22/03/2010 19:02

CoupleofKooks · 22/03/2010 19:59
