I hate that tired feeling, Franny, hope your day is okay. The cake cafe will help.

I still feel shit so will eat more today.

Big bowl of cereal
Milk
Raspberries
Grapes

Boco · 24/03/2010 15:19

I looked at a calorie counting book in the bookshop today - if you count calories how can you eat anything! Things that you think are good are really bad, - i think that counting calories would make me a bit mad.

I had lunch with a friend in a cafe - emmental and mushroom flatbread - and it was about 96% of my allowed fat for the day and it was SMALL and then I had tiffin and a latte. I don't get this - that small lunch was about 3 days worth of fat! this is not going to be fun.

Ok but am not going to just come on here and be outraged every other day. Today is walk to and from school 57 times day, so i will embrace the tiffin and move on.

Hope you feel better Guad.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 15:56

Yes. Exactly. That's why you don't tend to lose any when you think you are cutting down a bit, because actually you need to eat quite a bit less to lose weight. Or exercise a lot more.

I use the ww points just because I've done it before and it worked for me but I am always surprised when I start counting how quickly things add up.

It makes me cross too.

I've eaten more today. I do feel a bit better. Maybe the two are connected.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 15:58

LOL at you being surprised that cheese, tiffin and latte were high in fat though, Boco.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 17:33

Cereal with milk
raspberries
grapes

salmon salad
jaffa cake

loads of tea

packet of waffer thin turkey

creamy mushrooms on toast
tomatoes
jaffa cake
brazil nuts

And enough points left for a few rich tea or, GASP, possibly even a hot cross bun before bed. Though if I had any wine, I would forgo the bun for a glass I can tell you that.
Prob a good job we are out of drinks given the cold.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 17:38

and if anyone would like my delicious but very low fat mushroom recipe, you boil a big load of mushrooms in stock and then when it's mostly [but not quite] reduced, stir in tablespoon of low fat garlic and herb philadelphia and simmer briefly. Tip onto a a crusty slice and cover in pepper and parsley. Serve with a green or tomato salad. Yum.

CoupleofKooks · 24/03/2010 17:44

well i am eating a bit less and exercising a bit more and i am losing weight (unless it was a fluke?)
however really messed up at cafe - i was planning to have a cake, which i did, but i had a large chocolate brownie with ice cream and i felt quite grim afterwards - a bit sick and just WRONG really

anyway the rest of it was ok:
cereal fruit blah blah
nasty cheese roll which i didn't finish
leaves, beetroot and tomato salad bought to replace nasty roll, which was what i fancied but which didn't feel me up, hence:
the brownie of doom

just about to have stir fry, quorn and noodles
will eat fruit and veg all evening as penance for brownie
have sugar headache
blah

guad that sounds good - do you think it would work as a stroganoff sauce instead of creme fraiche? (would it be lower fat than half fat creme fraiche, i don't know?)

i must admit i buy full fat philadelphia
i say it's because it is for ds2 but it is really just because it is nice

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:04

Yes, yes, it works in place of all those things.

Someone made me a delicous smoked salmon spaghetti thing with creme fraiche and I made it with low fat [chive for this dish] philadelphia and it was LOVELY.

It is now one of my favourite low fat dinners. I hardly use any spaghetti in fact, mostly smoked salmon and broccoli and spinach.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:06

I am not bothered about having half fat cream cheese, I don't notice the difference really.

However, I am a bit partial to a crumbly Boursin.

CoupleofKooks · 24/03/2010 18:06

but is half fat philly lower fat than half fat creme fraiche?

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:09

Ahem - yes, of course it is not like that for everyone, Franny, but for me, I cannot do half measures. I am on a diet. Or I am not. I know we are sort of at odds here but I suppose I mean that I have no resolve unless I have RESOLVE iyswim.

Then when I get the RESOLVE I want results. Quick.

But I am sure we will rub along well enough.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:09

Sorry - um, dunno will go and check on me calculator

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:10

and you will stay thin and I will get fat again as soon as I look at a cake lol

CoupleofKooks · 24/03/2010 18:11

is it annoying you when i keep saying "well i am doing this"?
sorry if it is
i think i am just trying to point out that we don't have to be doing heavy dieting / counting /renouncing all evils on this thread, unless we want to
i am not meaning to be argumentative, just kind of "guad's doing this - and i'm doing this"

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 24/03/2010 18:13

i don't think there is much danger of me GETTING thin let alone STAYING thin LOL
but i would like to fit some more clothes and hopefully is working
i am attributing it to new improved shambling

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:15

Not annoying me at all!

I do have a tendancy to do things in extremes, so it is good that give gentle reminders that it is not the only way.

You can always kick me off to cod's thread.

What does shambling mean? I meant to ask.

Oh, not much difference between half fat creme fraiche and low fat cream cheese, 2 pts for 50g phil, 3pts for 50g half fat creme fraiche, not much in it. I like the different flavours you get with them though.

Oh, oh I just remembered wy it is better. It never splits. I loathe that curdled ting you sometimes get when heating half fat creme fariche

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:18

Hello, Tiger. Nice pics.

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:21

I posted that as I clicked on the link, obviously confident in the knowledge that they would be nice pics, then of course I cannot see them as I am not on facebook

Sorry

Guadalupe · 24/03/2010 18:22

I blame starvation ha ha

TigerFeet · 24/03/2010 18:24
