oh pink

i had a mini-migraine last night ( i usually get them pre-menstrual) so groggily swallowed a horsepill ibrofen tablet with no water. Well it obviosuly didn't go down right and lodged somewhere in my eusophegus )sp!) and today I still feel like it is there and all hard and painful when I swallow or eat anything. Think the bad head was better, tbh..

Did 15,000 steps yesterday

am eating porridge before going off to allotment. is cold and grey and i am snotty and don't really want to but.....

elliemental · 23/04/2010 19:09

porridge
sunflower seeds
brocolli soup (with a slice of bread and flora)
fruit salad
dh is making me a thai green curry as i feel lurgified. I don't want to know how fattening coconut milk is! I feel too ill and tired to cook.

Guadalupe · 23/04/2010 19:17

That's okay, elli, I won't tell you.

What is the matter? Are you coming down with a cold? Have I mentioned cider vinegar ever? Oh, I have? Okay I will be quiet then.

I took those shoes back. And bought two new pairs. Oops. Trouble is, they were neither one thing or another, not quite day time shoes but not really going out ones either. I have rectified this. I now have coral rocket dogs that are a sort of flowery matrial but not really and they have a whorl of material on the front, and also some very high black peep toe going out ones with a cluster of red and yellow flower buds on the front. They sound extraordinarily vile on paper but actually they are very nice. The heel is odd too, a bit deco ish.

My mother should be home tonight. Hurrah. So I might be able to wear said shoes on Sunday.

Guadalupe · 23/04/2010 19:24

Acai, banana, and mixed berry smoothie from the cute juice man [late up again]. He really is quite good looking.

vegi sushi and piece of hot smoked salmon shared with ds2

bit of mango and dried apricot

mushrooms in philadelphia on 2 fat rye toast with salad and broccoli and slow roast tomatoes

Now, I am the owner of a slice of health food shop carrot cake with cinnamon cream. I would quite like to eat it tonight but it would be better if I didn't, wouldn't it? It is friday though, and I am still not drinking.

This is quite a radical change for me this not drinking business. I think I will try to avoid drinking at home altogether for now. I didn't even want one in the theatre last night and I am usually a before, during and after and another when I get home kind of girl.

elliemental · 23/04/2010 19:27

Guad my love, I think of you everytime I gargle with the damn stuff
I am catarrhy and snotty and coughy.

I am very much enjoying my glass of wine tonight having abstained...I will probably pass out after it

Guadalupe · 23/04/2010 19:45

Gargling is for beginners. You should try snorting it. Now that is hardcore.

I am going to power walk to the video shop and think about the carrot cake. If I still want it when I come back I might have half. And a cup of tea. I am so wild.

elliemental · 23/04/2010 20:18

whatchoo going to watch?

I drink the honegar with water. Tis quite nice.

DH has abaonded thai curry for home made pizza If I load it with peppers and sweetcorn and spinach, will all fat disappear? {pleads}

ThePinkOne · 23/04/2010 20:59

Yes, I supposed it was a migraine but didn't like to claim so cause it probably wasn't too horrendous Hope it doesn't become regular The flashing started again this morning so I grabbed some paracetamol super-quick and it seemed to stave it off.

And ... drum roll please....

I just ran 5k in 32 mins

And now I'm going to die!

(and I hope that detracts from the fact that I've hardly had any f&v today!)

Right got to go and catch up on ashes to ashes.

Guadalupe · 23/04/2010 21:14

Oh well done Pink.

have chosen An Education for tonight and 2012 for ds1 and I to watch tomorrow. Also filled a 2.99 pot with candy king. I don't know what came over me, it must have been the jelly strawberries.

I would better off eating the carrot cake I think

CoupleofKooks · 23/04/2010 22:23

blimey pink, well done old chap
how many stickers do you get for that?

i went running and i think i am getting less shambly than i was
i did wk4 run2 of robcast and did 3 mins / 5 mins / 3 mins / 5 mins running, with breaks in between, but still, that's a credible amount of running, isn't it?
i could not have done this a month ago when i started!

i have not started the weights that i said i was going to though, it has been a tryingly busy week
i will try tomorrow night - part of the problem starting is that the weights are new (well, to me) and you have to screw bits on them etc - i hate anything like that where you have to work out how they function, it puts me off mightily
to the extent they have been sitting in the spare room for over 6 months

cereal, melon, pineapple, raisins, apple (4)

toasted fruit muffin and butter

spinach and rocket salad, cucumber, tomatoes, grapes, artichoke hearts, cheese (small amount), avocado, seeds, salad dressing = (2)

half an M+S veggie club sandwich which was HUGE calories when i checked it (er, after i had eaten it)

rice with peas, corn, cabbage, cauli and quorn = (4)

pineapple, satsuma, = (1.5) edam, leftoverpartycrisps
3 mini chocolate brownies
dried fruit from graze box - (1)
chocolate

oh dear
i honestly thought i'd done quite well till i listed that little lot
ah well i did ok on f+v (12.5) and exercise (30 mins), in the old 10/10 i would shine

OP posts:
ThePinkOne · 24/04/2010 09:12

at Candy King Guad

Rawb's great isn't it!! You never think you'll get there but very gradually you do then all of a sudden it's the 30 mins week and yay!!!!!!

Raisins, apricots and 1 weetabix so far. Oh and some grapes. Yesterday I was given a box of cadbury's heroes, a big bag of giant buttons and a chocolate cake Aaargh!

This only eating one weetabix thing is ok. I'd always had 2 cause you just do don't you?! But actually 1 is fine!

Have a nice weekend all. The children are in the playhouse in thier pjs

Guadalupe · 24/04/2010 10:02

I agree one weetabix is fine, especially with fruit. I think we just get used to eating a lot. I had three at one point.

Yes, Pink, I ate the carrot cake and the candy king. An Education was quite good. Shit ending though.

pointydog · 24/04/2010 10:40

yes, I just have one weetabix and it's quite filling.

drrrrrruuuuummm rrrrrooolll. I have lost another 2lb! V pleased.

I am wearing a pair of trousers that caused me great discomfort all last summer, the button kept popping off and dh had to sew it back on about 3 times.

They are still a little tight but I don't think the button will ping off.

pointydog · 24/04/2010 10:42

Also, I had a lot of treat food yesterday because my mum was over and she brings mucho calories.

I had a ham and cucumber sandwich for lunch
m&s cajun chicken breast (check it out, non-veggers, as not many cals, only about 250) with a few teenty taters and salad
trifle!
my mum's tablet, about 4 bits, which is incredible stuff

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/04/2010 19:05

Well done Pointy, and well done Pink and Franny for running.

F&v intake has been dire today, but I haven't actually eaten much of anything else either as we've been in the garden all day. The carrot, french bean, peas, basil, rocket and mixed leaves seeds have been sown and watered and hopefully we'll see something in a few weeks.

If it were up to me I would buy plants but dh is being all tight and we're using seeds. I like the instant gratification of plants.

Atually we got 5 free packets of seeds from the BBC Dig In thingy.

I've got An Education on my LoveFilm list, we've got Wolverine to watch tonight. The only reason I'm watching it is to perv over Hugh Jackman

Oh, and if anyone is thinking of joining LoveFilm if you sign up via quidco.com you get 2 months for the price of 1 and £25 cashback.

Guadalupe · 24/04/2010 19:45

I am very bad at seeds too, lemur. I stare at the pots crossly waiting for something to happen.

Pointy - well done! Thats brilliant. You will be on a roll now.

I think I will weigh-in tomorrow. I could do it tuesday I suppose but I willl probably be more after my anniversary meal. And breakfast. And wine..

2 kiwis
dried mango

beef wraps from marks, only 50 cals for six! I think the wraps are turnip or something.
strawberries

jacket potato
mixed leaf nettley salad thing with olives, greek salad, coleslaw, tomatoes and sugar snaps, beetroot and avocado. It was delicious.

Biscuits tbc

pointydog · 24/04/2010 20:24

weetabix
fruit juice
2 tidsy tangerines
2 jacob's with philly light and 5 cherry toms
fairy cake
burger, sausage, roll
lots toms and cucumber
pickled gherkins and beetroot
tablet

about 7 +

CoupleofKooks · 24/04/2010 20:32

oh dear i am getting ds2's sniffly cold and am feeling maudlin
i was putting ds1 to bed (he is much better btw, but we still have to stay with him while he falls asleep), and dp was looking after ds2, and we could hear him shouting for mama, and i was just waiting for ds1 to fall asleep so i could go down, but ds2 kept waking him up, and it went on and then i finally got downstairs and dp has taken ds2 out in the pram so he can get him to sleep, which is very helpful, but i wanted to feed him first and cuddle him, and now i feel a bit tearful

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 24/04/2010 20:32

i can't understand how anyone would willingly eat a weetabix

OP posts:
pointydog · 24/04/2010 20:37

there's seomthing quite comfirting about feeling coldy and tearful for no real reason. Have a whisky.

What is wrong with weetabix?

CoupleofKooks · 24/04/2010 20:42

i just think it's horrid
it doesn't taste or smell nice and the texture is quite awful

i can see what you mean about comforting but i always just feel fretful, as i think i have lots to do and i am going to feel rubbish
it stresses me a bit
at least its the weekend, i should go to bed now

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 25/04/2010 09:11

Your bedtimes sound very stressful, franny, I hope it settles down soon. Do you have to take ds2 out in the pram every evening or is it because you are seeing to ds1 and can't feed him to sleep?

I remember when ds2 used to wake a lot during the evening and I felt murderous. It felt like the day was long enough without spending half the evening up and down the stairs! When he discovered he could propel himself out of his cot at 16 months or whatever it was, he stopped going to sleep and started having fun. For ages.

I have lost 2.5 pounds. I have lost 2.5 since wednesday and I was rather hoping it might rounded up to 3 by this morning but no. I got back on on one leg but it made no difference.

It is my 3rd wedding anniversary today. Dh has a coldsore so I can't give him a kiss. He is very annoyed about it. We are having lunch in the hall where we got married and then, hurrah, my mother is home so we have our night away after all.

Guadalupe · 25/04/2010 09:13

and I love weetabix but rarely have it as no-one else likes it.

Only the second the millk goes on though, any delay and it's duff. Even when I ahve two, I eat them one at a time.

CoupleofKooks · 25/04/2010 09:22

happy anniversary guad
he can go to sleep either by feeding and cuddling, or by pushing in the pram, but he usually stays awake till about 9 or 9.30 pm if he's had a sleep in the daytime, whereas ds1 goes about 8 pm. so basically it would be lie down with ds1 from 7.30 till he falls asleep, then lie down with ds2 till 9 or 9.30 when he falls asleep - not much of an evening
we usually share atm and one does ds1 and one ds2
it's ok but yes wearing as you say
tonight dp is going out i can't go out at the moment unless i take one of them with me
so we have to keep ds2 up all day so he falls asleep at 7, then I can lie down with ds1
oh then about 9.30 begins the round of sleepwalking and taking ds1 back to bed!
it's bonkers
i suppose it won't last forever
it does make me feel rather fraught when there is a lot on in the week as well (which there always seems to be) and if anyone introduces anything extra into the equation i feel quite snarly (eg asks me to do something for a favour)

dp's tired as well and he's being a nob this morning
ho hum

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 25/04/2010 09:26

right this week has been a bit of a washout for me i think
yesterday i was feeling very tiredy and coldy and i ate, erm, well hearty portions of healthy food
then in the evening i finished the mini chocolate brownies and had a mini magnum
please note MINI portions of these foods, it could have been a lot worse
anyway i have not weighed for a few days but am sure is going to be crap, i think after these first few weeks my weight loss is going to be slooooooow again as i am just not type to restrict a lot of food, and that's the way it goes i suppose
ho hum again
if anyone can think of simple way to boost loss again without having to do very much i would be grateful
however if not i can do it slowly
i guess if i keep running that will help, if i manage some longer distances? pink don't tell me there's a 30 min run, i've been hiding my head in the sand every week about the fact it is going to get long and hard at some point!!
