morning
avi that is fab about the bike, ds1 didn't have a balance bike and he only learnt with difficulty last year

well i know you aren't meant to weigh yourself every day, but i did, and the pound that came back, has gone away again and taken a friend with it

THE SHAMBLING IS WORKING

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 11:33

Well done! Huttah for lost pounds and their friends.

I am going back to bed again. Can't shift this hideous cold. So much for exercise. and it's a gorgous day here too.

Can you believe there are 2 ww points in my normal honey and lemon? How annoying is that!

Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 11:52

Hurrah even

CoupleofKooks · 23/03/2010 17:42

oh poor you guad, hope you feel better soon
i think dieting should go on hold when you;re ill, but that's just me

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 18:25

I know I am starting to think that too but it's so annoying now that I have finally found some focus.

And we are going away next week for ten days to the barn and I ALWAYS eat loads there. Part of that holiday is all the lovely food - from the welcome hamper to home cooked meals, delicious cakes, lots of local tasty things, cheese and perry and so on. Not to mention going back to bed with some welshcakes just warmed on the aga. Before breakfast. Last time I was there I put on half a stone.

Then almost as soon as we get back it's our wedding anniversary and I was hoping to have lost some of this for our night away. Ahem.

But - it is taking me much longer to get better than normal. Have basicly been in bed for two days and not much improvement.

Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 18:28

Anyway enough moaning

LIST

GO ahead bar
melon
passion fruit

Apple
Almonds

Ryvitas
cream cheese
tomato ginger chutney

chicken and beetroot
rice cakes

Salmon
Ratatouille

I seem to have had four meals today. You would think that I would ooze health with that list.

I am going to have rich teas before bed too goddamit.

CoupleofKooks · 23/03/2010 19:28

gawd guad no carbs or calories in that lot
i think if you are ill you need something to keep you going, if your body is comsuming itself for fuel how can you fight off a virus thingy?

posh cereal as usual plus soya milk, seeds, grapes, raisins, banana, apple, pineapple (probably 4 portions)

crumpet with butter, almonds, half a banana

2 rolls with cheese and pickle
apple and 2 satsumas

macaroni cheese (small portion) with broccoli, carrots, sweetcorn (BIG portion)
some chocolate

another apple

still hungry!

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 23/03/2010 19:29

probably 12 portions f+v
and more to come

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 19:36

Ew at consuming itself. That sounds, cannibalistic.

There are carbs in ryvita, rice cake, go ahead and rich tea! And the salmon was an oily slab. I don't eat bread that much anyway. I might have cereal tomorrow, and eat more if I don't feel better otherwise it's daft.

Dh is away till Friday so it's a long week to feel crap.

Yum to macaroni cheese! I have had that for years. I make cauliflower cheese sometimes. I love it with really strong cheese all bubbling and golden on top with a tomato and basil salad and some crusty bread and red wine.

Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 19:43

Just making flapjacks for dcs lunches tomorrow - they are smelling very buttery and syrupy and fruity and delicious.

Flapjack

or

rich tea

Hmm

Guadalupe · 23/03/2010 19:44

I used to put butter on rich tea. People think this is rank but actually it is completely delicious.

littlerach · 23/03/2010 19:48

well I was doing very well.

Until the Coffe and walnut cake incident at work.
It would have been rude notto have osme as it was a collegaue's birthday and someone else had baked it.
And it was bloody nice
And then i had some choclates form my mother's day present

But, I had spme brown bread a nd soup at lunch time.
And a pear, banana and grapes.
Muesli for breakfast.

Veg chilli for dinner with rice.
And an apple.

So take out the cake and it was very good

Um, flapjacks, Guad, no contest

CoupleofKooks · 23/03/2010 19:52

cake is your downfall, rach
i love cake

BREAD is carbs PASTA is carbs FLAPJACK is carbs
rice cakes and go ahead and whatnot are CARDBOARD

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 23/03/2010 19:54

OP posts:
pointydog · 23/03/2010 19:58

a weetabix with milk
orange juice
2 fingers of shortbread
banana
3 crackers and cheese
small portion macaroni plus chips
grapes

See why I need small portions? CoK, have you got a list of meals in a document? Maybe you could subtley link it.

janeiteisFedUp · 23/03/2010 20:00

Ooh I didn't know this existed. Can I join you please?

Am not porky as such but AM veggie and last week I was under nine stone for the first time in years and years but yesterday I was nine two again. Am a short arse, so it's noticeable.

Not on a diet as such but trying to be a bit healthier. However, I have had a lot of migraines lately and for some reason they make me ravenous...any tips?

Favourite healthy veggie recipes?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/03/2010 20:01

Lol @ cardboard. I want to like rice cakes but they smell weird.

granola with a banana and blueberries
pear
wholemeal pitta with roasted veg cous cous, tomatoes, cucumber sticks and hummus.
Lasagane with rocket salad, cucumber, tomatoes and radishes.

Probably about 9-10 portions.

I too had a small piece of coffee cake today. It was on offer after ds's music group and it was homemade.

I thought of you in Waitrose LR, as they had Higgidy pies on offer

pointydog · 23/03/2010 20:01

jane! hello.

You sound like a little sparrow

janeiteisFedUp · 23/03/2010 20:03

Lol at sparrow. I'm not, I am more like a little weeble with very skinny wrists and ankles!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/03/2010 20:05

I love cheese. Emmental (sp?) is one of my favourites at the mo. I also like that mexican cheese - the orange one with peppers and chillis in.

Oh, hello janeite - I'm not a veggie so I can't help with recipe ideas. But one of the best tips I've got is to have cereal with fresh fruit chopped over it for your breakfast. It's a couple of portions and very filling.
