...and I don't mean that you've "heard that someone at X school/street/place" has had it, I mean someone that you actually know really has had it/has got it.

I don't know anyone that has and wondered if thats the case for the majority of people on here or not?

Hi from SF Central in Milan!
DS (and eight of his classmates) came down with it over the weekend. Major symptom: FEVER, crazy-high, paracetomol doing NOTHING, so we are using ibuprofen which is working a bit better. Other than that, he has a very runny nose, aches and pains, headache, and NOT MUCH ELSE (thank heavens). Took him to see his asthma doc yesterday and she confirmed that he has NO whistles, squeaks or wheezes whatsoever.
Here in Italy docs do NOT want patients to take Tamiflu unless they are already in serious trouble (ie lower respitory tract involvement), so in the end, given that DS is doing so very well, I obeyed (although I had already bought some and was ready to hand to him at a moment's notice...!) (the pill-pushing American in me!)
Interestingly enough, although DS's symptoms began on Sunday, neither DH nor I have yet developed any symptoms besides massive fatigue...(ONE positive aspect of advanced age?? I am 44, dh 50?)
Best of luck to everyone!

My Mum has it now. My brother, his GF and their DCs all had it before her.
2 friends in London had it and one friend up north.
