For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

indeed where is Franny?

well...eating yesterday was atrocious, even by my lowest standards...but it was ys 5th Birthday...not if that excuse would count, lol
but back on track today...

well...got a family bbq here on Saturday, so am busy at the moment...also, my mum is here, from Germany, so...not get much time to spend here...

how are you all?

TigerFeet · 13/08/2009 13:13

Franny is enjoying the mysterious world of RL.

Happy birthday to your ds FairLady . I hope you enjoy having your mum here. We have the IL's with us atm. It's nice to have them, but nice when they go and we get our house to ourselves again! DH can go back to slobbing about in his pants and I can wander around nekkid on my frequent nightly toilet trips without fear of frightening anyone.

It's my last day at work today . I've been presented with some jewellery, a grobag, some baby toiletries and a lovely bunch of flowers. I'm going to miss being at work. It's generally very peaceful here. I now have 3 weeks of 5yo entertaining to keep me occupied. Ideas please on the back of a fag packet to TigerFeet, Bedlam Towers, Lincs.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/08/2009 15:31

Tigerfeet...if weatehr permits....country parks...long walks, they usually have great playgrounds attached, etc...

Cinema Kids club , swimming, softplay for crappy days...

not very inspired...I know...you can see why I usually can't wait to have those Kids back at school...

or for crappy days...cooking/baking/and maybe some craft making?

So far it is going alright with my mum....but she has only been here a few days and will be here for 6 weeks altogether...so...ask again in a few weeks, lol...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/08/2009 19:16

And, it is forecast SUNSHINE

Hurrah.

SuperBunny · 14/08/2009 14:11

Have fun, LR.

We've put our tent up in the garden. I'd forgotten that tent erecting is really a job for 2 people and that a 3 yr old makes it much more complicated

Am debating making a quick brew on our new camping stove

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/08/2009 17:20

How was your brew SB? Did you drink it out of a tin mug?!

We are off to France tomorrow morning - yipeeee.

Take care and see you in a week

ABitWrong · 15/08/2009 00:26

It's a bit quiet in here.

Hope LR and Lemur have lovely holidays.

Hope SB has fun and good brews in the garden.

My goodness, you are listing impressively

Tiger, are you enjoyimg your nekkid night wanderings?

Lots of veggers awol atm.

C'mon back everybody!!

pinkspottywellies · 15/08/2009 09:31

Hello! I've been a bit awol this week. I've been being a good girl and sleeping instead of MNing til the wee hours!!!

Eating lots of f&v though.

Are we having a new title soon? [totally out of touch]

pinkspottywellies · 15/08/2009 09:36

Can someone summarise the daily mail stuff for me please?! What's going on?

pointydog · 15/08/2009 09:49

Summary, pink:

  • an old-time mnetter is also a DM journalist (she doesn't post much now I don't think)
  • she has started to find an interesting, topical thread on mn, edit it down and write it up as a column for the DM, using posting names eg thunderduck
  • many people are complaining that they don't want to face the possibility of seeing their posts in teh dM
ThePinkOne · 15/08/2009 10:03

Thanks pointy. And are MN 'allowing' it? Or is it fair game as a public forum?

quoteTHISyafuckers · 15/08/2009 11:12

the debate is on-going pink. MN are conducting 'legal enquiries' as we speak.

I'm, disappearing for a couple of weeks. It's going to be a rum old holiday, with no money, but we figured we would be buying food/using electricity if we were at home so...

see you all, take care x

FrayedKnot · 15/08/2009 17:22

Hello veggers

I'm just popping in to say I'm not going to be around on MN for a while.

Things going on in RL I can;t talk about here.

TF I'll try to keep up with you over the next 3 weeks or so....want to wish you all the best with the impending arrival of DD2

I don;t want to lose touch with all of you so those of you on FB I'll be around.

Lots of {{{{{}}}}} to you all.

Greengages

apple

SuperBunny · 16/08/2009 21:28

I don't think I've ever had a greengage.

I was going to do a new thread but since no-one is here any more, I'm not going too. Am off camping for a couple of days. All alone with DS. Wish me luck!
