For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ooh, have a good trip, SB!

It's dd's drama show this morning. They are putting on a production of Hairspray in a proper theatre. Last year the older girl next to her had to keep elbowing her as she stopped what she was doing to wave to us. Very funny.

I have managed to swap ds2 for one of dd's friends so maybe this year I can actually watch it rather than following him around under the seats.

Lovely day here, have a nice weekend.

FrayedKnot · 11/07/2009 09:16

Lovely day, Guad? . Grey skies here.

Hope the show goes well, and LR hope DD1 has a good time.

Lemur soggy BBQs are not great are they..hope it clears up for later.

I am trying to get off arse and actually do soemthing.

Bearing in mind DH woke me up at 2.30 am banging on the window because he had been out, was slightly the worse for wear and forgotten his keys, and then DS got up at 6, I am not feeling too sharp.

Am defrosting my emergency blueberries.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 09:21

Yes, sorry, azure skies with a slight rippley haze. From this window anyway. Actually there is a puff of cloud to the left of 105's chimney.

I have been maing blackcurrant schnapps. It's a great colour, I hope it doesn't go brown like the rhubarb one.

Boco · 11/07/2009 09:23

Am getting mine and dds hair cut off today - we're goign to be a lot lighter without it. Am doing emergency nit combing. Has anyone ever had nits at the hairdresser? I worry about them finding one and being thrown out with only half my hair cut.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 09:31

I always used to worry about that as I knew someone that had been thrown out halfway through cutting their child's hair.

I have never knowingly gone with them but you always worry there's one lurking somewhere. They haven't had them in dd's class for ages now touch wood.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 09:32

I feel like a radical hair change. Maybe short and spiky and blonde. Do you think it would suit me?

Simples · 11/07/2009 09:33

where is franny GOIN?

Boco · 11/07/2009 09:34

Oh god at being thrown out. No, i'd never knowingly go with them, but there's always the fear that a sneaky one crept in. Dd1s class always seems to have them it's a pita. She's getting her hair cut off next week after ballet exam where she has to have a bun.

Yes Guad, go short and blonde and spiky!

Boco · 11/07/2009 09:34

She's going to the squeazy jam thread Simples.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 09:40

She is ahving a break, and Molly is in charge though she must rein in her hippy ways and refrain from slapping horse hair and plaster all the walls.

mollyroger · 11/07/2009 09:45

Guad - yopu would look ace blonde and spikey!

I am feeling chastened. Went out last night for meal with the 3 mums I have been friends with since reception year (and all our kids off to 2ndary in sept)

Well the bill was over £100 and we ate hardly anything
We did have a bottle of prosecco Guad - thought of you!

We were loud and obnoxious and everyone hated us! They seethed and glared and tutted (but no-one actually came and asked us to pipe down or anything)
We were there from 6pm til 11pm....

I think I ate salad.

mollyroger · 11/07/2009 09:46

I'm trying took efficient and bustly and am wearing a wholesome Kidston-esque apron to welcome to you to the thred. But I stink of booze and my make up is smeary.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 09:53

I was joking about the hair! Though now I am wondering..

Glad you had a frugal good meal, Molly. You can't have been as hated as we were at the beer festival.
I laughed and laughed at you getting cherries in your graze when you had a bagful btw.

I was fairly unimpressed with my pot of hairy hazelnuts too. In fact I am going to cancel mine. I eat it all in one go and they are pretty fattening if you look at the sheet with it. [yes, I know you are not all on a diet but I am] This week's one with strawberries and cream was a third of your daily calories and I'm not skipping a meal for it.

TooTicky · 11/07/2009 11:00

Ooh, do it Guad.
I have radicalled my hair...

littlerach · 11/07/2009 11:13

Again TooT?
Or the other day??

It keeps raining a little bit here, then stopping.

And the bastard blackbird is back and thisd time sztealing blueberries.
Dd2 has hung a CD up to stop it.

TooTicky · 11/07/2009 11:14

No not again LR.

Try a different CD. Heavy metal or something.

TooTicky · 11/07/2009 11:15

oh and at having blueberries to steal in the first place!

TooTicky · 11/07/2009 11:27

radical hair on profile, although I think most of you are on fb anyway

FrayedKnot · 11/07/2009 13:14

I think Franny has secretly packed herself in the Gnormans' suitcase and gone to Sweden.

FrayedKnot · 11/07/2009 13:16

No, not Heavy Metal, you want to get some of that Rihanna or something, LR.

Surely no sensible bird could cope with hearing that umbrella-ella-ella crap on repeat?

TooTicky · 11/07/2009 13:29

Cat Stevens?

OsmosisBanana · 11/07/2009 13:36

Hello all,

Guad, def go for radical hair, I am in my summer 'plumage' sur le moment, pink n purple. It has rather sadly reinvigorated DH's interest in bedroom antics. Ah well.

I have many friends who are having serious life ishooos at the moment, trying to be supportive but they are v large problems that a) I feel they would be better seeking professional help with b) seems to have no effect c) I am unable to commit to being as supportive as to be of any actual help IYKWIM. It's not good.

How is everyone? Is SB UK bound? Is she planning on camping in the BANES region TooT? I have a garden.... I wouldn't charge much

So what has been occuring?

Fran sounds unhappy, TooT doesn't sound happy, WArrior also not sounding particularly happy. Who is in the happy camp and who is in the unhappy camp?

I wrote off my car in spectacular manner leaving Glasto last week. I have not been to see the car but DH has to retrieve my stuff and says he doesn't really know how I got out. Crashing into a telegraph pole at 50mph on the other side of the road will do that to a car though I hear. I am trying not to think about it as makes my heart thump madly. I think my subconscious has done a marvellous job of burying the memory and I'm not going to do anything to disturb it.

FK - Gin is what you are missing.

littlerach · 11/07/2009 13:41

Blimey OB, that sounds bad

I think it is end of term itis for many, including me. I am looking forward to no school run, hotugh in reality it gets worse in the hols I htink.

Guadalupe · 11/07/2009 13:45

Blimey - I reckon next time you should take the bus, OB!

DD's show was fun, she looked so funny doing her dance and concentrating on her lines. And she got a medal, though it's a bit of a swizz as they get it for years attending so I think we should get a medal for paying that long.

It's the lord mayor's procession later and I cannot be faffed. I need to buy tikles and then I need to lie about with a book and a gin/pimms unfaffed.
