Anyone else got this Virus - ongoing Nausea - I have had it for 4 weeks

Just been to the doctor. I have had Nausea now for 4 weeks. The doctor says it is a virus and I should be OK soon. He said that unlike the Norovirus this one can linger for a while. Was wondering if anyone else had anything similar and if so how long did it last. One good thing I suppose I didn't put on any weight over Christmas!!, but I would just love to feel healthy again.

Hi all. Having my blood test on Weds. Doctor prescribed me a different tablet as my BP has been slightly up each time I was at Drs. He did a really thorough check of everything, I actually took my Mum with me (I’m 31 😂) as I wanted support if a blood test was refused. My nausea hasn’t been as bad the last 2 days but I know have a coldy type thing... I’m feeling really bunged up.

Hi everyone. My symptoms have mainly gone - although I have a very slight cold - and now I am just so tired all the time. Really exhausted. But I am taking it slowly and trying to build myself up. Good luck with it all - with the blood test Cornishsummer and with getting well, and I hope you are doing OK Jen. I have a drs appt booked next week - still thinking whether to go anyway. How are you all? I’m up and down to be honest. Looking forward (never thought I’d say that) to blood test, nervous for the results though.
@jen1320 did you get your blood test results?

I wouldn’t be worried because most probably like me it won’t show anything, how come there making you wait so long for a blood test, they should be able to do it straight away .Are you managing to get back to work? Im going to try not to think about it and go back in tomorrow x

Hi everyone I’ve been googling symptoms and all sorts the last 2 weeks straight. (I know I shouldn’t) I’m pretty sure I have what all of yous have. I woke up this day 3 weeks ago feeling like I was dying and all i kept saying to people was “I never felt like this before”. I had severe chest and back pain, I felt like I could sleep for days. Kinda like if I slept Long enough I’d wake up so much better kinda feeling. 3 days past of me just sleeping everytime I woke up I’d go take a panadol night and go back to sleep then day 4 I had the worst cold shakes I couldn’t get heat into my hands or feet at all while having severe chest and back pain still. I wore 3 heavy onzies for 3 days straight with pajamas underneath still feeling freezing. So many people were telling me the flu but I never coughed, sneezed. Didn’t have a cold or anything. After suffering for a full week I broke down and just cried to my dad because I was really scared Incase something was really wrong with me. Monday/ week#2 I tried to have a meal, my first proper meal because I wasnt thinking about eating at all the week before. I couldn’t eat it, it made me sick. I wasn’t craving anything. But I also wasn’t getting sick so it wasn’t a stomach flu. So my symptoms are a lot like yours. I’ve had the cold shakes, I’ve slept for days, I’ve had really horrible chest and back pain that was unbearable! I feel like certain organs hurt every few hours! My arms and legs hurt. My neck has hurt. My appetite is non existent! I have to force myself to eat whenever I feel faint. On the third Monday of feeling that way I went to the doctors and straight away I said I think I have a viral infection and after examining me he told told me I’ll need to get my bloods and an ECG done that week to be safe because my heart rate was very fast. So that Friday I had them done. Today is the 4th Monday I’m feeling like this and oh god it feel like months. My back pain has gone. All I have now is horrible chest pain(like I’m going to have a heart attack) the middle of my chest feels swollen and I found it kinda hard to breathe today. I’m getting weird feeling in my arms, hands, stomach and head now and my stomach is always swollen. I have broken sleep. And I still can’t eat. I feel for all of you! I know how scary it is. I feel like calling an ambulance every few hours but I think it’s my anxiety getting the best of me. Everything went through my head of what it could be but I really think if so many people feel this way it’s just a really bad viral. I have felt depression I never thought even existed while feeling this way. Still now I’m scared of the outcome. I couldn’t live my life like this. I don’t know any of you, I’m from Ireland btw but tonight I’ll say a prayer for me and everyone on this group. And for what it’s worth fresh air helps me a lot and I’ve been drinking a lot of water. If anyone has a swollen throat or if it’s just sore gargle kinda hot water(what you can bare) and salt. Mix them together and gargle it and do it every hour. Doesn’t sound like it helps but it’s really does, then a spoonful of honey afterwards😊

Hi Aim22 sorry you seem to have this ghastly virus. As you say it's worrying bacause there are lots of weird symptoms but no classic symptoms of cold and cough. Good you are having bloods done I guess at some stage it's a good idea also ECG because of chest pains. Hopefully all come back clear for you, as for most of us here on this thread. At the end it will be put down to 'virus'.

Hi Jen! Yes finally all over after the cold and cough that appeared at the end of all this rather than at the beginning (If the two were even the same virus)! I've got other problems related to fluctuating blood pressure but otherwise the virus seems to have gone (Touch wood)! Amazing how many other people had these alarming symptoms!

I've been lurking on this thread for weeks now because I've had the same thing and honestly assumed it was from years ago (think it started in 09?)and that I was clutching at straws thinking that I could be having a similar virus now in 2018... but I've just seen the dates on all the responses and now I'm convinced and relieved it must be the same... although what a stinker its been.

Mine started out as increased heart rate and chest pain. I was watching an episode of haunting on hill house on netflix and then i don't know if it was the show or this virus but my heart started beating like crazy... I am prone to panic attacks and assumed it was just that and did my usual routine of going for a walk and breathing excerices... i came back from my walk and my heart rate was still crazy and i suddenly got the worst shivers I've ever had followed by a strong urge to vomit. It all settled after a little while and i assumed this was the start of norovirus or something but i felt just fine the next day.

over the next few weeks I've had on and off nausea indigestion and continued to have heart palpitations for a little while... I've still been eating well but it seems to bring on more nausea.

I've never had a bug last this long and gone away and come back so quickly... i was starting to jump to some scary conclusions but so glad i come accross this thread. I hope were all rid of this nasty bug soon!! get well soon all!

I’ve also been lurking for a couple of weeks. Same symptoms.... nausea, no appetite, strange aches and shivers, back pain. Went to doctor and told bloodwork was normal and this is a virus. Best of luck to everyone and hopefully we’re all feeling better soon. I can’t function at all :-( Let’s everyone please update when we’re feeling better. I’m at week 3.

@raclarke80 yeah that was like me, I thought it was a really bad panic attack that wouldn’t go away. That was the Saturday night. Sunday I was fine, then that Monday it fully started from the minute I woke up. We should keep eachother up to date and let eachother know when we’re better. @oldmum55 I’m glad you’re feeling a lot better😊

How is everyone getting on? I’ve been taking vitamin C capsules and they’ve given me a boost😀

I thought I was doing much better even attempted some workouts last night but felt shaky and weak with nausea and runny poo after. Had a somewhat ok day today just an achy stomach so attempted to take ds swimming... bad move i felt nauseous and crampy and still do. I've forgotten what it feels like to be well again I think I'm gonna be like this forever lol

Yes I woke up feeling good just had on and off chest pain and sore throat I started cleaning up and now im left with a sore back and really sore chest. Does anyone else has bad chest pain on and off throughout the day? I was brushing my teeth earlier and I got the flashlight to look at my tonsils and noticed there’s thick white bumps on them and 2 dark red vains, I hope I don’t get strep throat from this virus😞 I feel the same! Feel like I’m like this months now

I had the chest pain a while ago it did last a few weeks in fact it was the first symptom... I don't have any sore throat or anything like that... i kinda wish i did cause then it would feel more like an actual virus lol. I get the sore back too though!

Raclark8 exactly! It was the lack of classic fluey symptoms like cold or cough that worried us. Mine showed up at the end rather than at the beginning, but by then it could have been a different 'virus' altogether!

The chest pain is the only scary thing that’s left because it’s shooting pains. I feel like if I do too much I’m gonna be in pain but I’m also in pain when I lie down. I feel bruised all over. I’m past the feeling sick part, just a little weak here and there. I think my bodies just really confused. I thought I was getting better the other day😞 it’s not really that my throats sore it’s more of a tight feeling. Someone on this might have the dots on their tonsils too? I think it just comes with it

oldmum55 yep that is what has been bothering me... I've just had another bad day today... it just feels like its not getting any better im really trying to believe it will get better but its not happening. I really don't want to go docs cause it will take weeks to do all tests and get results :( and it will set off my anxiety big time sigh I just don't know what to think.

I have just logged on to my Doctors account and blood tests all ok for me.
Still feeling on and off good/bad. Light headache, nausea, random pains. A bit of a cough and cold but not really. All very strange.
Some periods through the day I’m ok, others I’m not.
It’s all very strange but as I’ve said before thank god for this thread and knowing we’re not alone.

CornishSummer glad your bloods are OK. Amazing similar symptom for all of us as you say if we didn't come across this thread we wouldn't have believed that a virus could cause such havoc. Still sensible seeing the GP and having bloods done.

so i went to 8-8 docs today and they said my obs were good and no need for blood test. They seemed to think it was too long for a virus though but I can't think of how else to explain it. They said one opf my ear drums didn't look right which could be causing vertigo and prescribed me anti nausea drugs cyclezine? anyone else had these? Also has anyone's partner etc. caught this aswell? mine seemed to catch it from me but his has cleared up already ughhhhh

Same here Raclark80 my DH had the 'virus' but only for a couple of days, still this helped decide that it must have been a virus.

How are you feeling now @jen1320? Did you manage work?
I have been feeling ok most of the day, apart from a throbbing headache... there’s always something. I long for a ‘normal’ day.
