Just been to the doctor. I have had Nausea now for 4 weeks. The doctor says it is a virus and I should be OK soon. He said that unlike the Norovirus this one can linger for a while. Was wondering if anyone else had anything similar and if so how long did it last. One good thing I suppose I didn't put on any weight over Christmas!!, but I would just love to feel healthy again.

Hi lyab,
My first symptom was nausea, it then progressed to abdominal pain and then a feeling of having something stuck in my throat. I have had different tests done and nothing has been found (see previous posts).

I take Omezaprole for the acid reflux but I have had to double the dose and not sure if it agrees with me but carrying on for now.

Since being furloughed I have been looking on the internet for other people who suffer from the same symptoms and now think all this has been caused by the menopause too!

Have a look on Patient UK website and you will find other people posting about gastro issues in the gastro section and in the menopause section.

I think my digestive system has slowed right down and my large intestine is inflamed and that's why I feel so much pain. I am now eating easy digestible food and I have also downloaded a fodmap app and I'm going to try that.

Stress will make your symptoms worse as I found out!! The last 3 months have been awful but I'm slowly feeling better by controlling my diet, It is hard as I love my food and my hormones make me want to eat sweet things all the time.

Hope you get sorted soon Flowers

Hi everyone.

Mine started with a virus on 2nd January, I think I had that for around eight weeks but have been left with acid ☹️ I have run out of the lower dose omeprazole I was prescribed, so stopped taking that yesterday and the acid is back with a vengeance today. I was referred for a gastric camera but doubt that will be happening any time soon with everything going on, which is totally understandable but I’m at a loss as to why it’s still happening? I’ve never had this before and don’t know why it’s persisting. I think I’ll have to ask for more omeprazole next week if I can get a telephone appointment, but I don’t know if that’s just masking the issue.

I have to avoid googling as I can easily spiral into a hole of diagnosing myself with all sorts, so I’m just telling myself it’s the after effect of the virus. But I don’t know why it’s lasting so long and what will make it go away. I know some people just have more acid and there’s nothing they can do, but mine started after the virus.

I hope you’re all coping okay with everything else going on too xx

Hello everyone

I have had symptoms for the last few weeks that have been bothering me and I cannot get an appointment until next Tuesday.

I have had a nausea feeling all day every day for the last few weeks. It seems to get better when I eat and then comes back an hour or two later. My appetite seems fine though.

I also have bouts of constipation, flatulence and belching that have been ongoing too.

Just wondering if any of you have experienced anything similar and had a diagnosis.

Thanks x

For me it started in February. First I thought it was virus, then acid reflux. Same issues nausea all day but eating made me feel better. For me , it was post nasal drip, the mucus which was dripping down my throat and going into my stomach was causing nausea and belching. I looked up my nose and realised that my nasal lining is completely swollen and is red and inflamed. Called GP and got nasal spray. Now nausea is gone but am not completely healed.
