For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

pointydog · 14/11/2008 17:42

hem hem. I had some cucumber in a sandwich today. I will have my evening meal in a tomato sauce. I will have one, or maybe two, clementines after tea.

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/11/2008 18:04

awesome thread title.

Am feeling beligerent and despondant at once.

DD b'day tomorrow... had planned manic cleaning, tidying mission etc... apparentlt our central heating grant has gone through and the are going to do it monday. Don't get me wrong - fantastic.. but am now painting fresh plaster in two coats of white and then colour before radiator attachmeant, when I really need to clean toilet!

Yes, it's a shit (no pun intended) whinge but as if I neeeded anything added to my plate...

HAve 'surprise' exam on monday too! Shame there is no [strained] emoticon.

TooT - come and stroke me and tell me it's ok?

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/11/2008 18:06

Where do you live FMV?

Does anyone live near Stourbrdige btw? Am planning rescue mission up there soon...

FrannyandZooey · 14/11/2008 18:11

pineapple, raisins, grapes, melon
grilled peppers and mushrooms
2 satsumas
coleslaw, broccoli, corn
apple, banana

done

FrannyandZooey · 14/11/2008 18:11

oh someone today asked me if ds2 was on solids yet
he is not 4 months even

filthymindedvixen · 14/11/2008 18:16

oh Franny, I tried to post how gorgeous L looked on the other thread but it crashed. Must have been all the superlatives I used

Osba, I am northern... I used to live tolerably near tatties but now she's gone and moved even farther north.

Right, well, apart from the terrible packet of jaffa cakes this morning {but they were needful} I have had a pomegranite, a plum, a kiwi and some salad.
But I have done jolly well alll week.

TooTicky · 14/11/2008 18:24

We are quite near Stourhead. Go there instead.

Stew containing onion, celery, swede, turnip, carrot, celeriac and potato.

TooTicky · 14/11/2008 18:25

Rescuing who or what OB?

TooTicky · 14/11/2008 18:26

Franny, it's so lovely to have you back in the yurt.

Oh, I sent you an email.

TooTicky · 14/11/2008 18:27

Fmv, do you not find pomegranates terribly hassleistic?

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/11/2008 18:36

I'm rescuing an old friend from lonliness. We weren't mega close, but I was apparently a 'force' in her 're-awakening' (poor fool) and need to help her.

She split up from babydaddy early in the equation, moved from Bristol to SB, made new BF, turned out to be twat, stuck with Stourbridge...

ANyhoo - where in the north are you FMV? My sister has a flat in Leeds, and other sis in Manc...

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/11/2008 18:37
TooTicky · 14/11/2008 18:44

Were you wearing your orange coat at the time? I can imagine that awakening somebody fairly forcefully

filthymindedvixen · 14/11/2008 18:58

lol toot!
Osba, I am around 12 miles north from leeds...my town is far too genteel for orange coats from the sexy south
TooT, no hassle, I quarter pomegranites, and break all seeds into a bowl and go OUMPH!

OP posts:
pinkspottywellies · 14/11/2008 19:16

TooT - you get hurt letters if you're untidy? Wierd. Why doesn't she just help tidy up?!

Mint Magnum I NEED mint chocolate so I just sent DH to the garage after resisting for about 3 days (since I finished the mint Clubs!) and he got a mint aero and a Magnum.

Tatties!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good to see you. Hope the move went smoothly. Nice to have you back

Tatties · 14/11/2008 19:31

Checking in

Had tenderstem broccoli with dinner. I neeeeeed to eat more fruit. It's all gone to pot. Well ds is always preparing toy fruit and dishing that up to me but that doesn't count does it Have satsumas and grapes so will aim to get a couple of portions in this evening

Hello TooT and Franny and OsBa and Daisy and FMV and all

mou · 14/11/2008 19:31

I tell you, I'm a danger. proper fruit loopy me. I'd have waffled on on the other thread for ages wondering where everybody was!!

Pointy dog, that's already better than me some days, (but don't tell the others).

I'm on the up Osba so you can have some of my hyper vibes energy. And I'll do a couple of miles extra to run off some of your angst.

DD's asthma is terrible. She is really wheezy, and she gets croupy when she is like this. Quiet weekend I think.

Errr.
Tomatoes, juice, pear, infact apart from a small tea I think thats about all I have eaten.

Went to work for one of my longest standing customers today and we sat drinking coffee and nattering for 2 hrs! She insisted on paying me and we
had a lovely morning. She is one of the most gorgeous women I know in RL, a heart of solid gold.

Hope CiC and Daisy are feeling better.

Tatties · 14/11/2008 19:32

Ooh Pink you snuck in there while I was posting, hello, how are you doing?
