For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Oooohh, whupping and stroking, don't know whats going on but can I play? (sneaks in a bottle of ssshhhhh.... (diet coke) wrapped in brown paper)
Furtive look around for franny....

I've been in a secret postcard sale a few times and apart from once my pics sold! Not at RCA though.

I dust....for a living, strutts smugly with a 'fevver dusta'. Only do it at home when someone puts the date in the dust though! I don't look like Anthea Turner.

Toot I'll be your dusting, tidying, clearing fairy for a day. You should have a break.

Am going to go and knit a banana or something as we are fruitless.

Goodnight.

Boco · 14/11/2008 22:04

Have a good weekend Pink and Frayed. Frayed we're doing the same in a couple of weeks, getting inlaws out of the way. It's dps granma's 90th birthday. She's very sweet but bonkers - v. Polish and the girls find her slightly terrifying. She tells gleeful stories about people dying.

Filthy Blues Brother's very good, are you doing that running on the spot dance?

stuffitllama · 14/11/2008 22:05

Strides into yurt in thigh high boots, cracking a whip....

Boco, My MiL is like that and you try to signal frantically that a 5 yr old doesn't need to hear the gory details of the news. She has developed a slightly curiously morbid fascination as she has got older.

'OBlette' I like that. It is a moulette's birthday in a fortnight and I am trying to find a cheap but good karaoke machine. She takes after her mummy with her love of singing.

I am up because as I thought DD has had an asthma attack. She has come down for a snuggle and is singing abba in her husky, post asthma attack voice.

I had a rare attack of IBS and used my tens machine and it really made a difference. cool.

Waffling like a tired mad toddler so will go and google something pointless.

I am going to start trying a new fruit or vegetable every other week or so. Thought of it as I have never tasted Focca....that thing you were talking about earlier.

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 07:48

Mou, focaccia

Is dd okay? Singing sounds like a very good sign. You probably know about avoiding wheat'n'dairy.

Ooh, lots of you were here after I went to bed!
I actually had a good night's sleep, which is rare.

Happy Birthday to the Bananalet!

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 07:49

Stuffit, I have started two games and done none too well in either so far

Hope little OsBa had a lovely birthday!

filthymindedvixen · 15/11/2008 19:04

I seem to do very well during the week with F&V. And appallingly at the weekend. cheese and onion pasties. and the furit I already declared. And veggie pizza for dinner. (mushroom, peppers, sweetcorn, tomato)
Franny, at gym. But well done for getting there!

AIBU for being pissed off that having nagged DH for months, to go and get me a new inner tube for my bike, I eventually decided the only effective way of communicating with him was to email him. Guess what. 10 minutes later, he went out and got me it
Perhaps I should email him more often? Or poke him on FB.

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/11/2008 19:26

Oh agree FMV that email is a good way of getting things done. Dp always tells me to email him. I think the verbal messages just don't register
