For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

But it's just wrong!

mou · 15/11/2008 20:45

Now, where was I?

DD ok but looks awful which isn't helped by a black eye from a head crashing incident in the week earlier. Diet is difficult Toot, she is almost vegetarian and we do what we can. Never happier than when she has a cucumber in her hand though so it ain't all bad.

DS...., Had an hours rant earlier, smacked DD across the face and when I cuddled her, he stood behind me and ground pepper over our heads. Oh crap.
Got out for a run but got stress d&v, bugger.

BUT.

My spirits are not to be quashed. This girl is not going down. (so there, blows silent raspberry at challenging members of family)

F& V moderate but My appetite has gone awol. Banana, juice, tomatoes, apricots.

I thought foxinsox was a name change but couldn't begin to guess who.

at e-mailing DH fmv.

Going to go and be creative,,,tis my form of meditation....ooooohhhhhhhmmmmmm!

How are poorly people?

mou · 15/11/2008 20:49

Sorry fmv, didn't see your 19:38 post.....maybe as a short term communication form it would be OK until you could find a solution, but I know it is not easy. I just do it myself but them I do have a pigheaded, stubborn streak

filthymindedvixen · 15/11/2008 20:52

no it's Ok, mou I wasn't being entirely serious....

It is a bit sad though, innit?
I shall email next time I want a cup of tea.

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 22:12

Mou, if you want any help with dairy-free veggie food ideas do ask
Sorry about ds. He does sound quite a bit like my ds1. Who is massively better for endless cuddles and messing about sort of attention, but obviously this isn't possible all the time.

Fmv, it has never occurred to me to email dp. I may try it.

Yesterday's stew. 4 small tomatoes. So, erm, probably 2 then.

OB, hope you are having a fabbity day with dd

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 22:13

Daisy hello!!

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:18

OOH hello Toot!!I LOL at FMV and the emailing of DH, wouldn't work with mine though, he is a bit non-tecky - once left me a message

"have taken mobile" and propped piece of paper up wtih said mobile "Oh, it was just sort of handy and there" by way of later explanation

hope oblette and osba have had a good sausage and cava day, I am feeling MUCH better today

ready to do a bit of dancing like a blues brother in the yurt
sorry I missed all the stroking though...

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:19

BTW Toot how was the MIL visit? I can't believe you get letters of disappointment, that really takes the biscuit, and the yam, and the pomegranate and all that good stuff

it probably even takes the diet coke...

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:30

Binky bonky
it's always like this - as soon as I turn up you all Fruit off out of the yurt!!!

Right, that's me slapping softly placing the yurt flap down for the night, plumping the mangoes for the next recipient

and looking a little wistfully at all the stroking and slapping that went on last night....

sleep tight all you happy yams!

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 22:34

at propping the note up with the mobile!!

I am distracting myself with word games on FB. I can give up any time, honest.

MIL arrives tomorrow. We will not be up to scratch. Will have to blitz in the morning. Ginger cake in oven.
If the boys refrain from advertising their bodily functions, and if dd1 doesn't go all pre-teen strop, and if dd2 is as angelic as she looks, we may just scrape through.

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:39

Oh Toot, that is too stressful
I am so fruit loop that I had forgotten we haven't had Sunday yet!

I had no idea you had 4 DCs, hats off with respect! I can't manage a single thing with one

by the way, I emailed the homeopath you suggsted and had sweet email back, so keen to try, not so close to me, but not impossible, so thanks!

also bought a book which said everything we had done so far was WRONG and would make things worse I hate books like that!

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:40

Oh, Boco, that's fab about the RSA postcard thing, I always things it sounds really jolly and the kind of thing I ought to go to but don't!

daisy99divine · 15/11/2008 22:41

Toot, don't know how you manage FB and MN and any semblence of RL I really don't!

TooTicky · 15/11/2008 23:02

Oh but that is good really Daisy, because now you are heading the right way

And I don't manage. There is stuff everywhere which I should be picking up but I'm not. I should probably also scrub the loo and reclean the sink and sweep the bathroom floor and shampoo the carpet and clean the fridge and make new places to hang washing and hoover everywhere including the stairs and look under the bed and clean the windows and the door handles and frames and and and
So that is why I am on the computer.

My watch died today

daisy99divine · 16/11/2008 00:42

I am always surrounded by dead time pieces

At work I have a watch waiting to be mended, doesn't tell time. A clock that needs a battery and another clock that was a freebie and so does nothing

The only time that is correct is the corner of my puter and the telephone. Doesn't half confuse the others

mou · 16/11/2008 02:08

Daaaiiisssy!!!! 'ello!

Would probably like some dietry advice. It is very mush night-time asthma and the quantity of small soft furry things in her room does not help but she is addicted to them. On top of a busy weekend we have washed them all so the house is full of bedraggled teddies and stuff.

And DS. God my heart aches for him. The sad thing is he had had tons of attention and he just erupted over anything. Not his fault I had been up since 4.30 but I must admit I could have done without it. To be fair, he did take me out and buy me a little bracelet to say sorry, but with money he had pinched from my purse!!. Loved him for it anyway but he says such vile things to DD.
I am getting some terrific support though so at least someone has switched the light back on at the end of the tunnel.

Would have ran it off but ended up doing an inspection of all the public toilets on the way. bleeeeuuurrgh.

Psssst, daisy..don't mention the 'D.C' word. It is 'mango juice' man now.

I manage my MNing by leaving the computer on and 'dipping' rather than sitting at the comp. I don't really do sitting for very long.

RIP dead watch.

mou · 16/11/2008 02:28

Toot, can you recommend any books on managing childrens asthma? I presume one of the tootlettes suffers.

Not catable but my e-mail address is [email protected]

daisy99divine · 16/11/2008 03:00

Mouuuuu you daft person, why are you still up?!?!

sorry that your DCs have been having woes. My DS was once (wrongly) diagnosed with impetigo. He had yucky ABs I was told to Milton everything he may have touched in the last 4 days twice

YE GODS AND LITTLE FISHES he was a 9 month old! Well do I remember the mountains of bedraggled furry items.... some never really recovered nor did I

Toot, what a lovely positive spin YEAH I am on the up!!

mou · 16/11/2008 03:09

What are you doing up Daisy?

I am going through a bout of insomnia. I have been up since 4.30, had a mad day and been for a sort of run but have the energy to circumnavigate the globe despite being shattered.

DS is a lost soul but I love him to pieces for it so believe we will get through,

mou · 16/11/2008 03:15

Actually I think I should at least lie down and pretend to sleep. We are at my MiLS today and the DC's can be testing. She is 89 so I don't like her to get stressed.

So goodnight Daisy. It is always lovely to catch up with you.

stuffitllama · 16/11/2008 04:59

Mou you poor thing. Did you get any sleep in the end?

Hello all, Toot I need to share family/pre-teen girly angst with you, just had a thread about my daughter. Have got her to write a few things down which could help quite a lot. Hpe you are OK.

Am sitting typng amidst a lot of sleepover mess that really ought to be sorted and sofa cushions replaced and blankets folded before we go to the Christmas mela (like a fete thing) but of course I have to report first. Have eaten eggs and hash browns this morning. I love being a sunday morning short order cook for the children and their friends, it feels like a real greasy spoon.

Hi Daisy we should paths soon I reckon!

Fmv I love the emailing idea. I'm going to start it with the whole family. But I'm sorry it too so long to get you an inner tube. My dh has terrific way of stopping me doing things Oh don't worry I'll sort that out and then NOT. I'm all ready to spring into action and I have to sit on my hands. I usually end up doing it in the end of course. And I NEVER complain about it ooohh no.

See you all later. xxx

stuffitllama · 16/11/2008 05:00

cross paths Daisy CROSS paths

filthymindedvixen · 16/11/2008 06:56

morning! Central heating is making appalling noises and woke me up at 5.30am. I can never egt to sleep once I am awake so...

sadly our house is too small to risk doing anything useful (the boys will wake up if they hear me clearing my throat so I am typing verree quietly...) so my extra 2 hours of the day may as well be spent on here
