For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

oh no I have daft vegger carols stuck in my head now

eg
good mangoes we bring, not at all cunTING

(to we wish you a merry christmas)
it is a stretch at the end but you can get there if you try

pinkspottywellies · 03/12/2008 13:50

I like that one Franny 'good mangoes' but as you say some of the more sensitive non-veggers are a little offendable

This made me LOLOLOLOL and "I do love that cunt is fine on this thread, but cheese is censored"

MamaG it's good to see you back.

I had sugar on my porridge this morning for the first time in about 2 years!! I usually have fruit but at the moment I sometimes just need an instant calorie/sugar hit to get going in the morning. If I can force down 'good' food and wait for it to work then fine but I just couldn't today. Went to soft play though and wore us both out! Hoping dd is going to go to sleep

Mangolassi here is my bean and veg chilli 'recipe'. You will find that vegger/mn recipes are vague! This is copied from sending to another friend. Obviously veg can be substituted for whatever you have.

Throw diced veg and some tins of beans in slow cooker, add passata or tinned tomatoes and chilli flakes. Switch on, eat when you get home.

Seriously though, I just put in whatever I have but today was:

half an onion
3 slices of marrow (normally use courgettes)
3 small peppers
mushrooms
4 tomatoes
1 carton passata
1/4 tsp chilli flakes (Daisy eats this too - it makes it just warm)
tin kidney beans
tin pinto beans
large tin sweetcorn

Stir it all together and it was on low for about 6 hours. I prefer to do it on high for about 4 as it keeps it's colour better but tastes the same.

Mmmm, dilemma...am I being poncy in agreeing to having 'artist' in my web name? My webby man wants me to so it looks like I am taking myself seriously but I keep thinking it is a tad pretentious, but 'painter' is too ambiguous and I don't want lots of interior decorating enquiries!!

Part of me thinks in for a penny, in for a pound and the other roffles at the grandeur (cos I ain't that!)

No title ideas but am thinking..i do blush at the c word !!
"the cauli and the.....????..(the holly and the ivy?)

HV sounds lovely MamaG.

pinkspottywellies · 03/12/2008 14:13

Have artist. You know it makes sense. You creative people are shocking at the self-promotion that has to go with it (my mum and Boco are the same)!

I'm Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuubish at thread titles.

stuffitllama · 03/12/2008 16:24

"broccoli and kohlrabi, when they are both full grown.."

also dreadful at thread titles

FrannyandZooey · 03/12/2008 16:51

let's have that [decisive]
