For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

can i join? 10 seems quite alot. can i include drinks? (smoothies)

FrannyandZooey · 21/06/2008 18:37

hello daftpunk
please do join us
10 is quite a lot, we are hardcore fruity bitches

you can count smoothies for some of it - not all - some of the fibre gets broken down in the blender and you want to be digesting it yourself, in your body if possible
although we do have a nice bicker about smoothies every now and then so feel free to tell me if you disagree
you can also count fruit juices as one or two portions AFAIAC

Boco · 21/06/2008 19:03

Hello, thank you Lapin! You're like a superhero, beam out a rabbit silhouette into mumnset city and you appear in your rabbit mobile! Will email.

dd is ok, doctor said her chest sounds fine - it doesn't to me - but he said reassuring things, and cough more like croup now so will see how she goes. Had to go and beg a loan from my mum as our card was refused at the supermarket A week until dps payday so particularly bad month because of MOT. Gah.

UnderRated · 21/06/2008 19:06

Glad she is ok, Boco. Or that the dr thinks she is. Hope she sounds better soon. Lack of cash is crap

Still no shorts. I think someone must have snuck in and stolen them.

No F&V either but only myself to blame for that.

TooTicky · 21/06/2008 19:10

Oh god Boco, huge sympathy for card refusal. It's horrid, isn't it?

fullmoonfiend · 21/06/2008 19:30

hello daftpunk!

we have all been out for fish and chips at a cafe in a lovely little nearby - it felt like being on holiday
But I do weary of hangman - it is ds2's default passtime when we are waiting for food etc. He can't 'do' conversation, it always ends up in him attempting armpit farts....
wHAT do you lot do with kids in resturants/cafes etc?

hmm might start a thread. Will it end in tears?

fullmoonfiend · 21/06/2008 19:31

shall I try and pretend I have achieved 10 today in a bid to intimidate/impress newbie??

Nah, more like 5 today.

daftpunk · 21/06/2008 19:44

hi fullmoonfiend

fullmoonfiend · 21/06/2008 19:49

ah, he's 7.5, must be that age then...
Ds1 is as bad, he starts anoraky conversations about dinosaurs or evolution.

daftpunk · 21/06/2008 20:00

lol...ikwym. ds is so into dr.who..he asks me whats going on and i haven't got a clue!

catmando · 21/06/2008 20:02

catmando · 21/06/2008 20:03

my ds similair. bring him next meet.

UnderRated · 21/06/2008 20:08

catmando - who are you?

I had a few grapes. But they had seeds in It's years since I had grapes with seeds in. I didn't know they still did that. I had forgotten they are meant to have them but it does spoil them.

Hello daft punk

My DS sits in 'a reskronk' and talks to everyone. Especially to people who ignore him and try to pretend he is not there. Then he grabs everything within reach, drops at least one spoon/ fork/ knife/ packet of sugar/ salt cellar on the floor while I am trying to wrestle everything out of his grasp then manages to locate and reach the lightswitch and

daftpunk · 21/06/2008 20:10
