For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I woke up in the night in a cold sweat remembering something that I think I forgot to tell Avi when she was here

Avi THE EGYPTIAN DECOR IN THE TOILET WAS NOT DONE BY US
nor did I paint the taps gold
would you be sure and tell Mr Avi also, I cannot sleep for knowing that he thinks I am an Egyptian toilet painter with gold taps

Good morning. Am full of good intentions for fruit and vegetables today. First hurdle is that lunch is at a 5 year olds fancy dress party and will consist of hula hoops and party rings and perhaps a jam sandwich or some processed cheese spread. But I will stay strong.

Franny am delighted by the thought of your bathroom.

Hello .

Sorry about the migraine avi - I only know about them through DH but I think they seem truely horrible.

Had nice Easter with DH's family - luckily the amount of chocolate was very controlled. There seems to be lots at home but I am carefully "organising" it .

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 10:28

Boco it alternately delights and appals me. When we moved in the whole house was done in different themes eg Chinese bedroom, African living room. With stencils and quirky things everywhere. We redecorated but ran out of money before the Egyptian toilet was completed, so have kept it a shrine to previous owners. It does mean I have to tell everyone who enters the house though "IT WAS NOT ME THAT PAINTED THE TAPS AND THE TOILET FLUSH GOLD"

Avi I do hope your migraine is better soon

Previous owners sound like they took 'changing rooms' far too seriously. But gold flush sounds great, just like they had in the pyramids.

Sorry about migraine Avi

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 10:57

there's a gold towel rail too
a plastic one
I think it is a genuine one they found on an archaeological dig

OP posts:
Boco · 25/03/2008 11:02

Must be. You should rip that off the wall and go and take it to an Egyptologist at the British Museum.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 11:05

nah it would spoil the whole look of the egyptian toilet
the whole concept hangs around that towel rail

We once had a landscape on a shelf. Sheep and hills and things.
Have eaten leftover baked squash, now eating cucumber roll.

Why have you been in bed, Avi? Are you ill? Have missed vast chunks of thread.

FrayedKnot · 25/03/2008 15:12

Hello

Avi

Boco hope you found a carrot stick among the hula hoops

Back to work for me today...I sat at my desk, but not much work was accomplished, I have to say

I ate a bowl of fruit, and a salad wrap for lunch

I have to feed 5 people at different times tonight and then go to yoga. And I have odd food.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 16:29

Avi are you still bad? She has a migraine, TooT. Even if you are poorly Avi, I insist you make telling Mr Avi about the Egyptian toilet a priority.

Thinking about you Greeny - are you around?

Have had bowl of leek and potato soup. How many would you think that would be? It was very green.

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 16:29

S1ur · 25/03/2008 17:06

Hello,

Avi, you poor thing I hope you are feeling better now.
Greeny - how did it go? how is ds?

Boco, hope you stuffed yourself with crisps healthy option at party

Grapes, blueberries and rasisins, beans, carrots, tomatoes and sweetcorn.

Not sure about dinner tonight.

S1ur · 25/03/2008 17:11

Franny, reckon the soup could be one portion if it was very green

Oh I like the title btw!

Boco · 25/03/2008 17:31

The party was pretty good food wise. Ate cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrot sticks and grapes. And a banana and an orange this afternoon. The 35 screaming children were quite full on. I walked through the door and was asked by friend if i'd do musical bumps and musical statues and disco dancing! I declined the disco dancing but did the rest.

Friend from London has been here for the afternoon - swinging the already fairly manic children around by their ankles. I came in to the room to find him being operated on by both girls. DD2 had removed his skull and DD1 was doing laser surgery on his heart. He didn't seem to mind. They put all his bones back in before he left which involved lots of graphic clunking and squishing noises.

zippitippitoes · 25/03/2008 18:02

i sawed down the giant buddleia and filled a whole trailer with it in the comnpanyn of the roaming chickens who are completely insane they kept getting in the trailer and going under these big branches when i was standing on them trying to crack them down

and then they kept rushiung in to where i was digging so iu was endnagering their lives all day

i am now anxiously anmticipating upset communication re excessive pruning of 15 foot high bush to 2 foot high bush

and

DD1 HAS GOT A GRADUATE JOB IN POLITICAL LOBBYING

FrannyandZooey · 25/03/2008 18:05

it was it was really very green honest
erm have had that, and salad (big portion) and asparagus (greedy portion) and sweetcorn

pinkspottywellies · 25/03/2008 18:38

Oh Wombling how worrying for you. I hope DS is ok. Anything we can do just ask.

Greeny I hope ds was ok today. Did he go to school?

Franny. What can I say? Your bathroom sounds magnificent. I'm jealous. Indeed I might start a campaign to get it listed as an exceptional example of 'changing rooms' era design. It's a shame you managed to obliterate the rest Landscape on a shelf TooT? As in, you did it or inherited it?

Raisins, apple juice, broccoli soup and peas today. Lucky to have eaten anything at all. The cupboards are bare. Must shop.

Congrats on your DD's job Zippi! Glad you're recovered from the weekend! Chickens sound ...fun!
