What is this virus from hell?

I’m feeling god rough! Body aches, sore throat, back ache from hell, fatigue, dizzy painful head. I need sympathy and reassurance that I’m not alone because I’m a huge wuss. Countless negative Covid tests and I’m still able to shuffle around but want to cry.
had the worst flu over Xmas last year and am so worried I’m going to get that bad again. Started a bit on Saturday, then got hit by a bus yesterday and getting worse!

I'm same. Started off with headache and sore throat, then went to a fever for one night. Then constant headache since with aching, back pain, diarrhoea, nausea, tired all the time. Covid was negative on day one but I'm thinking about testing again. I've lost my voice with this too. My lungs feel like they're full of yuck and my eyes feel strained. It's been a full week now.

Honestly, it gets worse yearly. I've had covid vaccine too three weeks ago so god knows what it'd be like if I'd not had it.

I had covid three times last year (exposed to all sorts at work) and each time it gets worse which makes you wonder what damage it's doing.

DH and DD are fine tho despite being around me a lot.

@Gfozzy I'm going back to gp today and hopefully I'll get a referral.
Like you nurse in hospital the last time tried to say it was anxiety. It isn't.
@Lastchancechica my gp isn't happy and keeps sending me to hospital. Hospital just palm it off as post viral illness. Say to give it 2-4 weeks. It's already been 6 since it all first kicked off.

Gfozzy · 25/10/2023 15:08

@Ostagazuzulum how you feeling? Did you test again

Pretty much the same, exhausted, can't speak and aching.

How are you feeling??

Gfozzy · 26/10/2023 07:25

@Ostagazuzulum well I was ok and then it appears whatever my son has got was actually different to me and now I’ve caught it 😭 fever, sweats, general body aches. Tested twice yesterday and just tested now so waiting on results. I give up this year 🤷‍♀️

I got this the start of August. I thought I had recovered and much to my utter dismay, I've just come down with either the same thing or a variant of it. I am utterly exhausted and have never been this sick in my life!

Ostagazuzulum · 27/10/2023 05:25

Oh no! It's never ending - that's rubbish for you!

Gfozzy · 27/10/2023 10:09

Oh @TartBlueberry I’m sorry you are also in this miserable boat!

Anyone else still got this? You think you’re improving and then back it comes

Kikifava · 31/10/2023 21:38

Over 6weeks here and finally feeling a lot better although still quite breathless with any exercise.

Gfozzy · 01/11/2023 06:56

@Sybila well yes and no. So I’m still symptomatic but unfortunately I’ve been piggy backing different things and not getting over anything. Ended up in hospital last Monday with tachycardia and ended up contracting Covid so I’m flat on my arse again!

@Gfozzy bloody hell that is grim! I’m still struggling four weeks in, came to bed at 7pm and it was lovely. Sending hugs to you and everyone else with this horrible bug

LakeFlyPie · 13/11/2023 22:55

How are you doing gfozzy?
Hope everyone is on the road to recovery.

Imagwine · 17/12/2023 18:04

Are you all well now?

ToughTitty · 17/12/2023 18:09

I was on this thread (changed username!) and I have likely now got long covid/CFS/ME. Don't know if the original virus was Covid or not but what I do know is that I'm not better. Apparently it is happening a lot more frequently and doctors are seeing more and more people just 'not recover'.

If I can give you one piece of advice is rest rest rest even if your symptoms seem mild. Because I can't tell you how crap it is waking up every day and not being better.

Gfozzy · 18/12/2023 07:42

I wouldn’t say I’m well now. I had a few weeks of being ok and then have been hit by something else. It’s just relentless. I have an appointment with rheumatology in January to see what they can do

It's Covid iv been ill with it since DECEMBER and I seem to get more symptomatic as it goes on. My GP explained that many Covid Varients do not show up on Testing now. Go of your symptoms if its Acute fatigue, headaches, constant fevers and chills, body Aches, infections, sore throat, diahrea or vomiting, and mainly a long lasting cough its Covid. Long Covid drags on months and new symptoms or worse symptoms come along the way. Buy Manuka Honey Aldi sell it, real Lemons to squeeze into lemsips. Eat loads of Oranges, and fruit no sugar, drink loads of water, no alcohol while recovering, sleep like crazy. For all Battling it like me get well soon. Hugs 🤗
