Some say tooth pain is one of the worst pains to have.

What would you say the worst pain is you’ve experienced?

OP posts:

standing and weight bearing on a fractured and dislocated ankle. mind blowing

BasiliskStare · 04/10/2022 03:49

child birth and bursitis in my hip - (not at the same time ) - toothache is horrid .

Bigslippers · 04/10/2022 03:49

Absessess on gum (needed tooth pulled after healed)

Tongue biopsy. 3 stitches in back of tongue. Tongue swelled so bad and the stitches felt like razors. Had to keep mouth propped open so was dry too. Hurt like words cant explain.

TooHotToRamble · 04/10/2022 03:51

Childbirth. Without a doubt.

Redglitter · 04/10/2022 03:52

Having stitches removed from my cornea. Pain was horrendous.

WalkingOnMarshmallow · 04/10/2022 03:53

Kidney infection

Nat6999 · 04/10/2022 03:53

Gallstones pain, induced labour with a back to back baby, dental abcess.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 04/10/2022 04:00

Dislocated shoulder, broken clavicle, torn rotator cuff tendons, torn deltoid, and a torn labrum.

The shoulder being out was agony, real tears to the eyes stuff, but after it went back in most of the pain subsided. The worst was the deltoid tear. It's never healed properly, and even a couple of decades later I have limited mobility in my arm and can't do certain mundane actions without doubling over with the pain.

NHS offered me no rehab whatsoever and I was too young to realise I should have challenged that. Just one of a multitude of totally unsatisfactory interactions with them down the years.

ReeDeeHee · 04/10/2022 04:05

Recently, back spasms.
Overall, gallstones.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/10/2022 04:07

child birth with only gas & air (my second came with an epidural, I learnt my lesson)!

junebirthdaygirl · 04/10/2022 04:08

Gallstones. Worst than labour as, at least, l was expecting that to be painful and was built up for it but the gallstones came on unexpectedly and l had no idea what was happening. Was literally rolling around the floor in agony.

Snugglemuffins4me · 04/10/2022 04:22

Compound fracture tibia and fibia I still have nightmares of the screaming !

custardbear · 04/10/2022 04:26

Tooth pain when I had an abscess followed by kidney infection

Pung · 04/10/2022 04:34

Barosinusitis. I thought I was dying.

k1233 · 04/10/2022 04:41

Out of all the below, it would be the plantar fascia. That made me scream.

  • Tooth broken in half
  • Tooth abscess
  • broken ribs
  • Tore muscle, ligament and cartilage off ribs and tore a big hole in my pec
  • tore a hole in the muscle over my shoulder blade
  • frozen shoulder
  • tore plantar fascia - it's taken a long time to heal, would have been better if it had snapped apparently
Nugg · 04/10/2022 04:42

Kidney stones

And I've had 3 children and gallstones.

Kidney stones pain tops it all.

Huntswomanonthemove · 04/10/2022 04:48

Toothache.

maras3 · 04/10/2022 04:48

Tooth abscess.
Oh, the relief when the antibiotics kick in.

CrunchyCarrot · 04/10/2022 04:52

Back spasms. Absolutely horrible pain!

Froodledo · 04/10/2022 04:54

Rheumatoid arthritis pain in virtually every joint except my hips, or at least before I received effective treatment. Horrible horrible horrible.

TheMightyThor · 04/10/2022 04:58

I've had gallstones, two children, and a triple fracture/dislocation of the ankle leading to two surgeries and osteoarthritis. But none of them could touch the pain from appendicitis. I genuinely believed I was dying, I'd never understood the expression 'writhing in pain' before.

JMPB · 04/10/2022 04:59

Dislocating my elbow & Labour. Still undecided as to which was worse x

MrsKaleidoscope · 04/10/2022 05:07

Ruptured ectopic pregnancy, major internal bleeding etc and 8 hour surgery to save my life. I came round screaming. Still have ptsd decades later, still feel those screams.

OutOntheTilez · 04/10/2022 05:11

Slipped disk in my back 25 years ago. Three weeks of hell before the pain finally started to subside. Every day I thought about crawling in front of a city bus and ending it all. Labor with DS1 lasted about 20 hours and was really really bad, but that at least had a purpose. This back thing, just no.
