Some say tooth pain is one of the worst pains to have.

What would you say the worst pain is you’ve experienced?

OP posts:

Medically managed miscarriage (one of them. The other brought barely any pain, despite being approximately the same gestation).

One particular dental local anesthetiser injection.

christmasGift · 04/10/2022 12:20

Epidural that went very wrong

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 04/10/2022 12:21

Sacroilitis, ruptured discs, nerve damage from disc damage. Pregnancy and birth on top of that was not fun

Strawberryrainbow · 04/10/2022 12:23

Infected wisdom tooth.
Childbirth.

BonnesVacances · 04/10/2022 12:23

I always say that having Meningitis was way way worse than childbirth. I didn't know what to do with myself. It was excruciating and I couldn't do anything about it.

Northernsoullover · 04/10/2022 12:24

Corneal abrasion.

jewishmum · 04/10/2022 12:24

COVID cough with stitches from tearing front to back during labour. Coughing was agony on my privates.

VeridicalVagabond · 04/10/2022 12:24

Toss up between infected abscess in my gum spreading infection down into my jaw and the nerves there, and being bitten on the foot by bullet ants. Very different pains but both horrendous.

homarrrerr · 04/10/2022 12:32

The pain of contractions.
Absolutely fucking horrendous.

Thank god it ended in a C section because I can't even begin to imagine the pain of pushing a baby out.

I'm not joking when I say I would have let them cut my legs off to stop the pain.

thecrowshaveeyesbebe · 04/10/2022 12:36

gallbladder attacks - nothing has ever come close to them for me

LadyWithLapdog · 04/10/2022 12:47

Sciatica
toothache
chidbirth

Spanisheomellletttes · 04/10/2022 12:49

I banged my finger-tip. It wasn't even broken, just bruised, but I was fainting from the pain. I have given birth both vaginally without pain-relief and also had an emergency cesarean, and both could not compare to my finger-tip. No idea why.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 04/10/2022 12:51

Probably childbirth, I had two natural births which progressed quickly and I found them very intense and overwhelming.

I have also had my jaw cut in two places and then screwed back together with plates. That was fairly uncomfortable too I have to say, but at least I was pumped full of painkillers for several weeks.

Dontwakeme · 04/10/2022 12:51

Back spasm- no pain like it, had to get an ambulance once!
also Slipped disc collapsed on the s1 nerve- pain in my leg was excruciating 24/7 for 3 weeks before I got strong enough medication. 3 weeks of little sleep too and sent me dolally, If I could have got a knife sharp enough I wanted to chop my leg off!

Grace33 · 04/10/2022 12:57

Gallstones
Labour pain
C Section recovery pain and stitches removal
Toothache and tooth extraction

Amipreg1 · 04/10/2022 13:00

Dislocated knee. I've done it 3 times and each time was more painful.

HellonHeels · 04/10/2022 13:00

Kidney infection. Toothache.

Have never given birth though...

TheIsaacs · 04/10/2022 13:03

Two of equal standing. The first was gallstone blockage in the bile duct. I thought I was having a heart attack. The second was an ovarian cyst, I genuinely accepted I was dying and ended up just lying quietly waiting. I obviously didn’t die either time.

I told a&e to cut my leg off Blush the total loss of feeling was blissful relief!
L5/s1 herniated and compressed spinal cord and I got cauda equina

Shiningstarr · 04/10/2022 13:08

I haven't really been in that much pain... I've had three babies on just gas and air, but all water births which helped a lot.

I would say haemorrhoid pain has been the worst pain.

ProperSorryFrown · 04/10/2022 13:11

Toothache. Even my hair hurt, and the overdose vomiting from painkillers was a welcome distraction.

Meseekslookatme · 04/10/2022 13:11

My first coil insertion (By a nurse who eye rolled at me when I said afterwards that I was surprised at the pain)
Having tonsils out aged 39. Morphine didn't cut it for one memorable night.

Metalhead · 04/10/2022 13:16

Childbirth, gallstones, and tooth infection.

spiderlight · 04/10/2022 13:19

Palindromic arthritis. I had one horrendous summer where it travelled all over my body, although the hips were by far the worst. I had a 19-hour back-to-back labour with no drugs, delivered a baby who went straight into age 12-18 month hats, and the pain from that didn't even come close to the arthritis pains.

I've also had a few migraines that have been worse than childbirth, and for some strange reason the pain I've never been able to forget was from dropping a hard plastic tray edge-on onto the top of my foot. It didn't even leave a mark, but it must have hit a nerve, because I genuinely nearly fainted, and I couldn't even swear because my MIL was there!!

VickerishAllsort · 04/10/2022 13:22

I've experienced gallstones and childbirth, as well as a sadistic dentist who did a root canal on me without anaesthesia, but the worst by a L O N G way was trigeminal neuralgia. Definitely not recommended,
