Some say tooth pain is one of the worst pains to have.

What would you say the worst pain is you’ve experienced?

Labour, I had two back to back babies and long labours. Dental pain doesn't even come close for me.

crossstitchingnana · 04/10/2022 06:37

Child birth.

Hellocatshome · 04/10/2022 06:38

Kidney Stones. I've had 2 babies the second one with no pain relief, kidney stones still win.

JambalayaOrGumbo · 04/10/2022 06:40

I've birthed two babies, had gallstones and gall bladder removal, fractured and dislocated my elbow - but the worst pain EVER was quinsy, which is an abscess between one of your tonsils and the wall of your throat - even to swallow saliva was like razor blades. And I've had it twice...

summergone · 04/10/2022 06:45

Shoulder dystocia labour with only a few puffs of gas and air. He was dragged and pummelled out of me with a midwifes hand up me twisting his shoulder , most agonising 3 minutes of my life .

Sixsmith · 04/10/2022 06:46

Multiple fractures of radius and ulna all the way up my forearm. When I ran my other hand down my arm, it felt like a sack of lego.

I've broken a leg and had a baby but the arm was horrendous

Sixsmith · 04/10/2022 06:47

Had quinsy also. Bad, but arm worse

AllLopsided · 04/10/2022 06:57

Waking up in recovery after surgery when they sawed through my calcaneum. Was suddenly surrounded by medical staff because they could get the pain under control.

Close second... pain when the anaesthetic wore off after complicated wisdom tooth removal where dentist had to drill out the root. She said to take paracetamol. Hollow laugh.

I was stung or bitten on the palm of my hand this summer and I've had medical attention to due pain and slow recovery. Doctor and physio think it hit a nerve. It was the most excruciating string ever, I was screaming for about 10 minutes BlushShock

Oh and endometriosis...

Allthingsbrightandbeautifulx · 04/10/2022 06:59

Ectopic pregnancy - 1st worse than 2nd as needed emergency surgery.
Pain was worse than 4 day labour and childbirth maybe because I finally got a baby after that pain.

BluesandClues · 04/10/2022 06:59

Doing my back in, I maintain that was worse than childbirth. At least I knew at some point childbirth would end!

Indoctro · 04/10/2022 07:00

Compartment syndrome in my leg

The muscle ended up dying and I got necrosis

GAW19 · 04/10/2022 07:03

I had an inner ear infection, there was no wax or anything in my ear as the infection was behind my ear drum... the pain, well, it was horrendous. It well & truly beat 2 csections Confused

Jayneisagirlsname · 04/10/2022 07:04

Miscarriage for me. Physical and emotional pain combined. Looking back, I should have had way more help and pain relief than I got (none).

Dreikanter · 04/10/2022 07:06

Frozen shoulder - definitely worse than childbirth for me. Quinsy - I couldn’t swallow and was literally a dribbling wreck.

Other than that, I think I’ve been pretty lucky compared to some of these accounts.

wheredidIleavemystyle · 04/10/2022 07:06

Child birth, induced with the drip but the epidural failed. Never knew pain like it existed.

champagneplanet · 04/10/2022 07:08

Symphisis Pubic Dysfunction just before/after the birth of DD1. Horrific, the birth was nothing compared to it.

Had it again with DD2 but not as bad, Physio helped a lot.

WorriedandScared93 · 04/10/2022 07:23

Spinal surgery

Harrysutton · 04/10/2022 07:26

Twisted Fallopian tube. I had surgery like a c section and woke up with a huge grin on my face as the pain had gone. The pain from the surgery was nothing compared.

maddiemookins16mum · 04/10/2022 07:26

Dry socket.
Ear infection.
Fibroids.

DevaleraSpawnOfSatan · 04/10/2022 07:30

Radio and chemo to the head and neck at the same time, I spent months in a fog of morphine, Jesus help me if I slept through a dose. 😮

thaegumathteth · 04/10/2022 07:30

Kidney stones
Dental abscess
Torn tendon

Roselilly36 · 04/10/2022 07:30

Gallstone pain, far worse than labour for me, I found labour bearable both times.

Skiphopbump · 04/10/2022 07:31

I’m being investigated for kidney stones - whatever caused the pain was worse than childbirth.

Iwannabelikeyouoohooh · 04/10/2022 07:32

Childbirth, physically.

Mentally, the heart break of birthing two babies where neither survived.

Piffle11 · 04/10/2022 07:32

childbirth and abscess on tooth nerve that required root canal.
