For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Franny I love you

pointydog · 07/10/2007 17:41

I like th e thread title, franny

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 17:47

Ah i knew TATTIES would like it

pointy why are you not one of us? It seems to me you would fit right in here, am I wrong?

Boco · 07/10/2007 17:50

I like Pointy. Can you make her stay?

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 17:51

I'm trying

but what if we go crazy and get all the crudites out and a banner and stuff, and then realise we don't like her as much as we thought we did?

OP posts:
Boco · 07/10/2007 18:03

Oh come on lets give it a try! If we don't like it we can sell her to the zappatistas or whoever they are, the ones that talk buggies.

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 18:04

[self-conscious]

pointy, erm, would you like to sit down? We have made snacks

OP posts:
Tatties · 07/10/2007 18:04

Well if pointy likes the title she must be alright

From the last thread, I also like earl grey with milk; and Franny, dp is like you, his tea is half milk

Right lets talk shop, I have a lentil & veg soup ready to be consumed and my exercise today was cutting the hedge. My arms feel all stretched and wobbly like this ~~~~

hollyhobbie · 07/10/2007 18:06

Hi,
I saw your 10/10 thread last week and have been thinking about it ever since.
The exercise is ok (I think) but I need more fruit and veg in my life!
Going to print out the portion guidelines, stick them on the fridge and give it a go.

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 18:06

i shall try and keep up in doing the riight thing

Boco · 07/10/2007 18:07

Pointy? Are you still here?

Would you like an apple ring?

Do you have any phobias you'd like to share?

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 18:08

Hello Holly! If you want to tell us what you eat at the moment, we will all crowd round and tell you how to get to 10 effortlessly and painlessly

won't we everybody?

OP posts:
Boco · 07/10/2007 18:09

I've been for a long walk. Most of it included running alongside dd1 on her newly de-stabilised bike and catching her when she dived off as she doesn't understand brakes and stopping.

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 18:09

erm, dogs....

it's TooT. I am sure pointy will be alright if we keep her on a lead, and well wormed etc

Look Boco, we have A VISITOR here

OP posts:
Boco · 07/10/2007 18:10

Hello Holly - yes, we will. Come in, look around, like what you see?

Tatties · 07/10/2007 18:10

Holly go for it! I think we could all probably do with some f&v motivation atm

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 18:11

Hello .

FrannytheDruid · 07/10/2007 18:12

I am not going to say how many portions of f+v I had today. It all went wrong. I have had shedloads of elderberry doodah though.

pointydog · 07/10/2007 18:13

hello, you lovely leguminous ladies. I am cooking tatties and brocolli at this very moment.

I would be a terrible member of a healthy-lofestyle club, I know I would be. I'd be rubbidh and I wouldn't take it seriously.

And then, to top it all, I'd probably say something unintentionally insulting and you would all hate me - it's only a matter of time, you know.

But you are all utterly lovable (if a bit crazy in the bean)

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 18:14

Does she bark? Jump up? Growl?

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 18:16

Pointy dog I am very bad at fruit and veg comsuming. Or I eat them and then eat something else I didn't really mean to.

Knowing the thread is here keeps me a bit more on the straight and narrow.

(although this thread title is slightyl disturbing me as I really don't like peas. DH thinks I am mad and cannot understand how anyone can not like peas).

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 18:16

Oh hello pointydog

pointydog · 07/10/2007 18:16

boco, I have no phobias. I am phobia-free. Thank you for the apple-ring offer. I take it that's essentially the same as a slice?

Boco · 07/10/2007 18:17

Oh but pointy some of us aren't all that good - 100x eats brie all day and bee is whizzed up on coffee - and i like jaffa cakes (does the orange bit count towards the 10?) It's fine. And if you insult us or anything we'll just weave you into our lentil hangings, it'll be fine.

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 18:17

Indeed, how can you not like peas?
