For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

BBB Have you got a Playstation 2 in your house?

lionheart · 07/10/2007 21:44

Have you never heard of kinaesthetic osmosis?

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 21:44

We are eating artichokes .

lionheart · 07/10/2007 21:46

What is a PS2 good for (apart from defeating the forces of darkness)?

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 21:47

EyeToy kinetic. It's a personal trainer thing. I got really fit and lost loads of weight (then got pregnant and put it all back on!)

BBBee · 07/10/2007 21:48

you know I was going to get a dvd out the library - so you know what I got? Abigail's Party - I hadn;t seen it for years. Was wonderful!

FrannyandZomble · 07/10/2007 21:48

I am going to read my book and have an early night.

I have got People Round tomorrow. So I won't be on. This doesn't happen very often. But you probably noticed that.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 21:49

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 21:49

Yum - artichokes. I'm eating hazlenuts and chocolate. Has anyone seen the nutella advert by the way - apparently chocolate spread is a healthy children's breakfast

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 21:50

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 21:50

BBBee · 07/10/2007 21:52

Idris! I seem to come off the computer when you come on! How are you?

AllGonePossum · 07/10/2007 21:54

BBBeee, very sorry to hear about your accident and happy to hear that you're ok.
LL, relieved to hear that you are coping and being a fab mum to your DS as usual, you're an amazing lady.
Hello to everyone - Toots do you have hot water yet? - MrsC I'm glad your decolletage is now in the pink -

does anyone know anything about slug management? I have some well 'ard slugs who not daunted by my grimacing and spade waving, apparently slugs can live up to six years, I think these guys know me too well and they huddle up together in a sluggy way and chuckle about my terror of them. Truly, one of them was in the drive and I swear he should have worn a hoodie, he was waving his antennae thingies in a derisory manner at me.

Vegetables, I am eating some, but alas also cake, in much greater quantities.

I keep contemplating doing some exercise, does that count?

Boco · 07/10/2007 21:55

Oh and also, i have some very exciting news. I saw Rick Wakeman in Somerfields.

I was at the checkout with dp, and he pulled this really funny face and said. 'Rick Wakeman, 3 o clock' and i thought he was going a bit mad, but looked round, and there was Rick Wakeman looking very very confused and scratching his chin at the baked beans, in a grey shell suit.

Ok so it wasn't actually exciting news, - but, um,.... i was buying fruit and veg at the time.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 21:57

The Rick Wakeman?!?!?!

lionheart · 07/10/2007 21:59

I didn't know about that, psw? Did you have to do it for hours.

Give the slugs a beer, Possum.

lionheart · 07/10/2007 22:00

Shell suit???

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2007 22:00

Who?

Idris - I commented on the advert to dh then realised I had bought a large tub a couple of days before. I don't have it for breakfast though (elevenses, lunch, dinner, supper, snacktime, yes but not for breakfast. Poptarts for breakfast )

lionheart · 07/10/2007 22:01

Oops

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:05

Rick flamin' Wakeman!

BBBee · 07/10/2007 22:07

ah - I was thinking \link{http://www1.rikwaller.com/Rik2.jpg\rick waller) I really was.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 22:07

ah - I was thinking rick waller I really was.

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2007 22:09

Exercise????

AllGonePossum · 07/10/2007 22:09

Give slugs beer??? Seriously? But then they'll start lounging on the car bonnet and flicking fag butts at the front door....
these slugs already need ASBOs, I'm telling you....won't beer make that behaviour worse?

Boco · 07/10/2007 22:10

And you swooned at Rick waller? That's interesting.

Didn't you once call me a stupid pervert?
