For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Thank goodness.....i've worried about you.....lots

baked apples.....ooooooooooooh yum....with raisins??????

I really want to learn about mushrooms so am v. of your funghi walk

i had a magic mushroom omlette once...

we did the Thomas thing....i sniffed as much steam as possible...ds had his face painted with a beautiful underwater scene(will plead with dh to put up a pic later)we had a cream tea & hot chocolate with brandy as I was dying of cold....ds stroked engines lovingly...watched hideous punch & judy & rode in thomas
Tea was even more ghastly than one could possibly imagine...white thickly marg & JAM spread sandwiches, evil looking juice, crisps, slice of plastic dry looking cake & a gingerbread man with more ingredients than is humanly possible
luckily...ds didn't seem remotely interested & it was all deposited under the seat
bleuuuuuuuugggghhhh

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 19:30

Well done your ds LL! Isn't it a relief when they reject shitey food?

ThisIsTattiesNotFrannyAtAll · 07/10/2007 19:35

LOL at magic mushroom omelette. You are a dark horse LL

Bee we have a fungi foray here too in a few weeks - apparently it is "discover fungi month" or something? Ds and dp went to event in woods and saw wood turner making chair legs. Ds announced this is what he is going to be, and we have to let him axe down trees so he can do it.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 19:36

oh LL - we did the thomas thing many moons agao - it is kind of wonderful.

The only mushroom I can idenitfy are magic ones - I shoudl be ashamed I suppose. I didn;t pick any but left them for the students. Children loved it and the leader was so informed and enthused that it rubbed off on them which I adore. same people that did the bat walk so felt nice and cosy.

My friend has bought me a floatation tank session as a present after my accident. What do you think? I could trade it for a massage - will a floatatation tank thing help or might I go all nuts?

How did 100 party go? Whilst I was trying to get hold of climbing man to book for DS's party he has promptly changed his mind and wants to have a day trip to london.

franny - I thought you might be youngest - I have a sister just like you - youngest of three and large age gap so only child feeling.
Carrot I had right from the start.

Boco bewilds me!

Lullabyloo · 07/10/2007 19:37

Toot....the disturbing thing is ....both families next to us were joyous that tea was 'done' & they didn't have to cook

I could have cried.....where exactly was the 'tea'???

i think ds learned from his jelly & biscuit episode yesterday...it was at my ex employers house-where i used to nanny...so I couldn't really tell ds he couldn't have them...i let him decide.
He ate about two spoonfuls of awful jelly,a chocolate biscuit & a whole m&s pain au chocolat....
& paid for it
even i didn't expect such an extreme reaction

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2007 19:39

LL your DS and my DS can sit under tHE table at the meet up aND CHuff

We have a park about 10 mins away which for the size of our town, is huge. It's more like a country park. Because it's a public park it has a few problems with litter and gets very busy at the weekends, but on Sundays, there is a miniature railway with rides...so guess hwere we'be been today

DH has been digging the garden and I mustn't get distacted on here tonight as I have things to do.

I am going to make a list of everything I buy on a regular basis from the supermarket, and try and work out if I can manage to buy all of it elsewhere. It would mean several different sources and I would nbeed to get organized but once I've done the workings out I think I could do it.

As an experiment.

ThisIsTattiesNotFrannyAtAll · 07/10/2007 19:39

Ooh ooh I got dp a floatation tank thing and he loved it. You can get out when you want to, you know, you aren't stuck in there.

"franny - I thought you might be youngest - I have a sister just like you" oh dear

TooTicky · 07/10/2007 19:40

My ds2 used to react v. badly after parties. He seems to have built up some immunity now.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 19:40

my sister is one of the most wonderful best straight talking caring people I have ever ever met.

BBBee · 07/10/2007 19:40

(however my younger sister is a bitch...)

ThisIsTattiesNotFrannyAtAll · 07/10/2007 19:41

FK we used to get fruit, veg, milk and cheese from organic box scheme place, tins and dried stuff from Goodness Direct online. We changed box schemes and they don't do cheese, so I have slipped back into supermarket buying badly because of that. It's an arse.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 19:43

I am on the phone to my mum. This happens every Sunday.

I brought up Christmas - they thought we were going there. We are staying here but inviting all and sundry. Seems to have gone down OK.

Franny why are you being Tatties?

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 19:44

cream tea and hot chocolate with brandy sounds delicious...i really miss proper luxurious indulgent food

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 19:44

erm

I'm not

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 19:46

I talked to my dad first. But that is quicker.

IdrisTheDragon · 07/10/2007 19:46

You were .

zippitippitoes · 07/10/2007 19:46

well nobody said no so i sent this hunk my photo

so now i better redeem myself by having a healthy spot of supper

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2007 19:48

Well briefly my plan is

Veg box scheme from local farm shop, but this will probably not have enough fruit, so I will supplement from big greengrocer in town.

While in town I will also vsit health food shop for cereals, rice & grains, dried things, cleaning products, toiletries, crying chocolate, etc etc

I can top up veg box scheme with dairy products, meat, & things like chutneys, jam etc.

Also there is a baker and butcher in town.

I may need some sort of shopping trolley

I'm sure I have missed some major thing.

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 19:52

Zippi stop indulging your niche topic again

FK shopping trolleys are fab, honest. I love mine. You have to train the box scheme people to bring the amount of fruit you want. After a few weeks of ours the boss turned up on our doorstep instead of the delivery man. "Just come to see what you are doing with all this fruit then."

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2007 19:55

BBBee I am glad you are OK, I was worrying about delayed shock. My Aunt did the flotation thing and loved it.

I am still devastated that I lost my 12" single of "How Soon Is Now" somewhere.

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 19:59

Boco I don't think I remembered to tell you that the dog / buggy post was my absolute favourite post of the whole week

I showed dp and everything

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 19:59

FK How Soon is Now is in my top 3 Smiths tracks, if not number 1

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2007 20:02

Box scheme don;t do much fruit, Franny. I know that sounds odd but they only supply local produce, so although in summer there will be strawbs & rasps, over the winter it will be very limited.

I am particulalry choosing them though because they only supply local stuff. And then going to the greengrocer

Anyway, time to make my list

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 20:03

oh fair enough, yes I see FK.

Boco did that thread get deleted? Did someone save it?

FrannyandZombie · 07/10/2007 20:04

I wish lionheart would have her go at Scrabble (I am sure I only kept her waiting about 3 days in the week )
