My selection of beautiful men are most definitely not orange, kurri!! Glad to hear you've had a lovely day - you deserve it Smile

NedSchneebly · 27/09/2012 20:32

Glad to hear you appreciate the lovely mr Cumberbatch sandripples - you clearly have good taste!

smee · 27/09/2012 21:31

Am I the only one who doesn't get the Mr Cumberbatch thing?? Ned of your three pics, I chose the first. Though even him I preferred him raddled and skinnier in Our Friends In The North. I am clearly weird

Waving to SR. Hooray for nice Onc and okay check up. Always cheering to hear. Big weekend for you taking your DS to Uni. A friend's son's sharing at UEA. They were worried, but apparently he's loving it. I'd bet DS will be too.

Ned, your DS sounds very sweet. Lovely he has a friend who's similar too. I love that eavesdropping thing too. Good luck tomorrow. Am sure it will be hugely reassuring.

I love the leaves story too Kurri. You are obviously insane unique. How's the UTI? Is it less sore now?

MAS, those sweets look mmmm... You most definitely deserve each and every one. Keep well away from DS. Smile

Weird about Tamoxifen prescriptions. I get 3 months supply. I just assumed everyone did. Confused

Better go finish cooking. DH back from work, but not until ten, so we always end up eating at daft o'clock. He's had his appraisal today, so will doubtless come in fuming about the idiocy of it all. It's an annual tradition in Smeeland. Grin

'evening all, thanks for all the water and alka seltzer this morning. I was ok, surprisingly enough as I went out with my german friend and drank loads more than usual. Had to rush to work and then straight onto a train to brumigham - came to see Mum and how dd1 is getting on. She has nearly finished her first week (textiles) and looking forward to week 2 (drawing).

I need an early night, wonder why that might be? Mum has the choir on so I'm listening to that in the background.

I spent 8 months or so getting monthly prescriptions on repeat in boots which usually were not ready and had to be issued on emergency more than once. until I threw a wobbly ran out of tablets for 10 days or so and went down to docs and asked for 3 months supply... Nearly ready to order some more.

Aargh appraisals. Only had 2 in 4 years but should be every 6 months. Have heard that they will be done soon. Not going to worry about it. 'tis idiotic.

jchocchip · 27/09/2012 21:44

sand can empathise as i haven't recovered from my week off yet, only worked 3 days this week too and still have massive backlog of emails which I must start shovelling through soon. Almost tempting to do some work here tomorrow, but will have enough to do with sorting out/declutering this house.

topsyturner · 27/09/2012 21:46

What's wrong with a bit of an Orange Man ?
You are all a bit Orange-ist I think Grin

Smee I hope DH didn't have too tough a time today .

Mas enjoy the chocs , and take it easy .

Hiya Sand good to see you .

Feeling very achey today .
Sore bones etc .
Think I will take a couple of tabs and go to bed !

Is it tomorrow your Onc apt Gig ?
Good luck if it is .

Tomorrow is another day eh ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/09/2012 22:21

waves to SR and still laughing at constipation ad image kk
Have also watched choir...I do love Gareth...I am not an orange man fan.
ned do you like David Sedaris (not in that way) but as a writer ? not just ned but I know that she and I share a love for Patrick Gale
Very sleepy so will go to my bed xxx

Ooh the coffee and walnut cake is good - seems a shame to give it all to the coffee morning - wonder if they'd notice if I nibble a bit Grin

Good luck if you have onc appointment tomorrow Gig - and to anyone else having treatment or appointments.

DH has open to the public days at his work tomorrow and Saturday - so he is rather frazzled, tomorrow is school children, Saturday anyone else who wants to learn all about food poisoning Grin He stayed very late tonight making posters etc. Have sent him to have a bath to calm down as he is shouting at David Cameron on the telly Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/09/2012 07:37

oh exciting kk - good luck to dh !
SR meant to say glad onc is lovely and appointment was ok !
Lots of good thoughts to those having appointments today...

OP posts:
jchocchip · 28/09/2012 07:42

Mmmm coffee and walnut cake sounds nice, they'd probably not notice a nibble :)
Hope dh has a not to frazzley open day, kk

graciesmall09 · 28/09/2012 08:32

Chuckling at kurri and her bag of leaves. Hope there were no unexpected creepy surprises in there as well. Cake sounds lovely.

mas and smee hospital provide a rather fetching NHS cape which I bring each day. They will also give me creams on Monday and a weekly free parking ticket. Hope you are feeling better today mas

topsy hope you haven't been overdoing it with the decorating. The most I am doing is supervising. Have a feeling the decoratthe decorator may run away as he stained the door saddles yesterday and last night the dog left paw prints on them and DS2 (same one who whacked the wall) left a lovely footprint on one so they have to be re-stained this morning.

Good luck for your appointment today gigs will be thinking of you.

sandripples glad appointment went well. Your onc sounds lovely.

Well my onc eventually returned my call. Honestly he is such a ditherer (if there is such a word). I missed the call but he left me a message saying he had got the message from cardiac but he was saying there was a problem with my echo and angiogram but as far as the CT scan was concerned he was happy not to investigate the ? bone mets. He also said the liver spots weren't too concerning but he is off to Vienna today (again!) and will see me next Friday as he is going to Dublin then (is this man ever at home??). So haven't a clue what is going on.

Waves to everyone, off out to do a few things as DD on Inset day.

smee · 28/09/2012 09:35

Gracie that's a helpful, but not so helpful call. Maybe take heart from fact he's not worried and go armed with a list of questions on Friday. Cape?! Lordy, you sound like royalty! Should we bow? Grin

Kurri, we should put our DH on the sofa together and they could shout at the tv together. Grin

Got mountains of work calling. Might go put the kettle on first. Brew anyone? Smile

Gigondas · 28/09/2012 09:42

Yes please smee-5.30am with the little gigs (big gig seems to think clock is an entertainment system not something to tell you when to get up).

And I agree with smee gracie, go with questions as onc would not be leaving blithe voicemails if he was worried (ESP not saying he isn't concerned).

mas how are you? Impressive bunch of sweeties your friend sent.

kurriGrin at leaf story and hope cake/ coffee morning is a success.

Habent got an onc appt today (will see her at some point on Monday for pre chemo check- she may have her harsh moments with bedside manner but you can't fault her for diligence . Although that may be cos the other drs are such numpties). It's blood test and getting dressing on picc changed.

ned good luck today.

And am Envy of a cape- I had a manky old gown

smee · 28/09/2012 10:02

Did you try the audio book idea??

ned, good luck later. Hope Onc's lovely and reassuring and has warm hands Smile

Gigondas · 28/09/2012 10:12

Yes. .. She generally loves them but yelling talking to mum better Grin. I swear her volume has gone up 50% since school started.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/09/2012 10:22

Hope you are feeling better today MAS, and that all upcoming appointments for everyone go reassuringly, and well.

How was Judo, Smee? Dd has suddenly decided to dump TKD - I am quite pleased as we were just about to have to commit to a new suit and fighting kit (not much change out of £100). I've got her into a drama school (how apt Hmm ) at her own request, and she starts that today, instead. I hope all that money spent on learning self defence wasn't wasted.

Marc Almond tonight - DH's joy at having to go and watch a 'gay torch singer' (his description) knows no bounds Grin

Sometimesiwonder · 28/09/2012 10:25

And I'm also a bit Envy over the cape. I had a small piece of scratchy white bog roll paper to clutch to my norks as best I might, while walking the 3 miles or so from the chair where you disrobed, to the machine itself.

smee · 28/09/2012 10:28

Grin @ mini-Gig. Isn't school tiring her out?

Sometimes, she'll need her self defence skills as an actress. Grin DS v.into Judo atm, but that's possibly because he gets his suit next week and he adores dressing up..

smee · 28/09/2012 10:29

Am Envy over Marc Almond. He's fab live.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/09/2012 10:37

exciting sometimes !! how fab !
gracie am sure onc not worried judging by his message - try not to be anxious.
Hope picc and bloods tolerable today gig and good luck to ned

Sometimesiwonder · 28/09/2012 10:42

Ah yes, gracie, I think the onc's phone call sounds very laid back and reassuring.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/09/2012 11:22

I don't get Benedict Cumberbatch either. Weirdest face I've ever seen....

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/09/2012 12:05

I like him, but then I like the unconventional (hence my adoration of Christopher Eccleston)

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 28/09/2012 12:38

I should get you together with my Mum - she has unconventional taste. She lusts after has a fancy for Arsene Wenger Shock
