Loving the idea of 'violent' creams amber GrinGrin - be careful taking one out of the box!

Gigondas · 26/09/2012 20:08

Yes hope you are resting up and feel better.

Had a rest and now back in bed in lovely snug pyjamas as dh out . Now to decide what to watch on iplayer.

Talking of taken something, has anyone seen the thread on Aibu about swim babes.

amberlight · 26/09/2012 20:09

Yikes, yes!!

Gigondas · 26/09/2012 20:22

And kurri pm'ed you recipe you wanted - it takes about 10 minutes to make.

Gigondas · 26/09/2012 20:22

Grin at violent creams

KurriKurri · 26/09/2012 21:21

thanks Gig, - 10 mins is excellent - sound like my kind of recipe Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/09/2012 22:14

I haven't taken anything yet, wanted to see if I can manage without as not altogether sure whether they're ok to take- not being a martyr ,just cautious-am off to bed shortly anyway and hope things feel better tomorrow.
A friend sent me violent and rose creams today and have allowed ds to have two - he'd have hoovered up the whole box if I didn't watch out.

jchocchip · 26/09/2012 23:35

wahay I need to do that more often, but maybe not on a work night....

violent creams sound yummy. nnight.

jchocchip · 27/09/2012 08:00

gig that is a classic thread!

invicta · 27/09/2012 08:50

Hi all and hello to Tamoxifen29! Thanks for the shaving advice. Hairy armpits it is then, at least on one side.

JChoc - re schools. We're in a grammar school area so if DS passes (not confident!) he'll go to a grammar school, and if he doesn't pass, a non- grammar. The nearest one has a marmite reptutation - somepeople love
it/think its okay, others don't.

A 30th party sounds a grand idea ,especially as after hte Jubilee and Olympics, theres nothing ot celebrate at the moment.

topsyturner · 27/09/2012 08:55

Morning All

How are you feeling today Mas ?

How is everyone else ?
Any appointments today ?
Is it Monday you start your rads Gracie ?

I think today I am going to have a long hot soak in the bath , followed by a long wallow on the sofa with the contents of my sky+ box and whatever scrummy food I can scavenge out of the kitchen !

Grin
topsyturner · 27/09/2012 08:58

Morning Invicta , we are a grammar school country too . But it always has been that way over here , so everyone is used to it .
Doesn't stop us all stressing out around transfer test time though !

MORNING JANE !!!!
How's the head today ? Grin

topsyturner · 27/09/2012 09:00

And who mentioned a party ???
Gigs and I celebrate our 25th outright lie on the 5th , do you think we can get to number 30 thread by then ?
Grin

Thebarnes · 27/09/2012 09:22

Hi ladies I found you! Just wanted to to say to MAS that I get localised pain in my liver where mets are and take paracetamol which chemo nurse said was fine to take. It doesn't get rid of it completely but takes the edge off. I wouldn't take ibuprofen as it may irritate the stomach when on chemo (I have had bad stomach issues but sorted now with omeprazole), but you may not have that problem. But best to check with your unit. I also like to think that the pain is the chemo attacking the tumour so that is a very good thing! Sorry if that sounds a bit strange.

I feel back to normal now so getting ready for next round on Monday. It feels strange to be going through it all again now I feel better.

Gigondas · 27/09/2012 09:28

We can try Grin- don't over do it topsy

invicta I would revel in going continentalWink

jchoc need a Brew ?

How you doing mas and otm (imagine you are floored as wasn't chemo last week and good luck with tests as aren't they today).

Off for coffee with a friend then some shopping.

smee · 27/09/2012 09:50

I am only 31, as when BF and I hit 33 we decided to go back and forth from there to 33. BF's a year younger than me, but currently 2 years older as she's at the 33 part of the cycle. Always makes me laugh. Grin

Thebarnes, second one's definitely easier as you know what you face, but it's still ever so tough. Let us distract you with our inane wittering our sparkling chat. Grin

Invicta school choices sound a nightmare. Am guessing there's a lot of stress on the kids in terms of passing for Grammar or not too.

MAS, hope you feel a bit better today.

OTM, Gig's right. How are you feeling. Hope tests go okay.

Jane good on you for pub on a weekday. Never a good idea, but always fantastic imo. Hope you're not feeling too shoddy.

Kurri, how's the UTI? Hopefully gone? Really hope so.

Forgot to tell you, but I had a giggly time with my BCN at my appt on Tues. I asked about nipple (I have none) and surgeon is willing to make me some from other bits of me Shock, but am not sure I can be faffed. BCN took me to her little office to show me a pack of stick on nipples. So incredibly unrealistic they made us both laugh. She says they're more for under clothes so you can see the nipple through them. Really can't be arsed with all that. Quite funny though!

Right waving to all. Work to do here, then a trip to the dentist before boy pick up, and taking boys to Judo. Bet you can't top that for high living. Grin

NedSchneebly · 27/09/2012 09:55

Morning all Smile

Party - how exciting! I'll provide the beer (DH works for brewery - very handy!)

I've got oncologist checkup tomorrow. Am going on my own, so hoping not too traumatic. . .

Am volunteering to help with DSs class pond dipping this morning - DS ridiculously excited. . . .am hoping he doesn't fall into the pond with excitement! Although he did comment this morning "mummy, why can't you come in for the WHOLE DAY, not just one particular thing?"

hope the head is not too fuzzy this morning?!

kurri hope those antibiotics are kicking in and you are feeling a bit better this morning. Take it easy, won't you?

smee thanks for fb message. Will give it some careful thought, look out some resources that I think might help, and reply properly this afternoon.

MAS how's the pain this morning? Hope you feel better with some pain killers. I would second Thebarnes vote for Omeprazole - it really sorted my chemo guts out. Thinking of you x

waves, hugs, Thanks and Brew as desired, to invicta, gig, thebarnes, gracie, amber and anyone else lurking this sunny morning x x x x

NedSchneebly · 27/09/2012 09:55

X post smee arf Grin @ stick on nipples!

Thebarnes · 27/09/2012 09:57

Thanks smee the chatter is great. It is less daunting knowing what's coming that's for sure.

smee · 27/09/2012 09:58

Ooh Ned, pond dipping's great fun, though if it's anything like ours they get covered in green slime and their hands get so cold they all turn blue.. Grin

Don't worry about getting back to me. No rush and you might not be able to think of anything anyway!
